Was playing Foundry on Suicidal. Mid-wave 10 we notice only 5 of us were holding out up top. I check the scoreboard. There's a Firebug in the server that nobody has seen for the duration of the game.
Later we're buying guns for the Patriarch and down the hall I see a red pyro waddling toward the trader. As his Firebug tag and rank come into view I notice he is level 2 with upwards of 80 kills. I asked and asked but he never told us where he was. We never noticed him join or die, he was just kind of. There.

There we were, in an old foundry, knee deep in the corpses of those mutant fucks. We had a brief period of peace, to buy some ammo and extra armor from an enterprising black market trader who was set up in the area. As we huddled into the trader's barricaded side-room, covering the one door leading out and making our purchases, we heard footsteps.
They were hurried, at a pace and weight unlike any of the things we'd killed before. Our sharpshooter leaned out the door with his rifle up, expecting the worse. His face flashed in shock and he blinked a few times before lowering his rifle and scooting back inside. A few second later, a tall man in a red, flame retardant suit hobbled in, his breathing raspy and muffled by the gasmask he wore. He had a flamethrower shouldered, and an uzi on his side. Damaged armor clung to him like tattered rags. The lighting was good in the trader's room, but we never saw anything past the grim visage of his mask. The light seemed to stop at the mask and never penetrate the lenses.
We asked him who he was, where he came from, and what he was doing out here. He never said a word. Just breathed his raspy, uneven breaths. He faced the trader and slowly pointed to the things he wanted. Armor. Fuel tanks. Rounds for his uzi. A few grenades. He handed over the cash and collected his purchases. He turned around and regarded us for a moment, his breathing the only thing breaking the silence. Then he took off out of the shop, and back the way he came. We slowly piled out after that, his footsteps disappearing in the distance. We heard and saw nothing of him after that.
I've noticed a pattern with new players, you can usually tell who's new by looking at their playermodel. If they're the Pyro, then there's a 97% chance they're Level 2 or less, maybe Level 3. I can't say I've ever seen a Level 4+ use the Pyro model.

Level 4 Medic/Sharpshooter who uses the RED Pyro model. Although I'll start using Steampunk Foster now that I have him.
HoE and Suicidal are more challenging and intense. Once you hit 4 / 6 with any perk you fail to get any enjoyment on anything other than hard at minimum because it becomes so easy.
And again no to the uptight part and classes, so long as your 5 / 6 you can play anything you like and no one will care so long as you do a good job, the only class that gets hate is firebug and that is because it's so under powered that everyone else on the team has to do alot more to compensate.
There are pretentious ass holes out there in the world of KF, but in comparison to every other shooter there is far far less than what you seem to think or are led to believe.
Actually, I've got level 6 firebug and support, and I'm absolutely terrible at normal.
Seriously. Even with firebug I tend to die a lot.
I remember being in a server and at the end of the wave, everyone was in the doorway for the trader and I couldn't get in. I managed to move around a bit, find a little pocket and was able to trade for a few seconds, and as soon as I was done I was votekicked for blocking the doorway. Where's the justice?
patty on normal is a joke
me and TheDark killed him in a few seconds with AA-12s

I can't be the only one that thinks about this when people call the patriarch 'patty'...

This one was so much better.
because the last 2 commando weapons added had scopes (SCAR and M4)
they felt like they needed to continue the pattern
because the last 2 commando weapons added had scopes (SCAR and M4)

But if it didn't have a scope, then there would be slightly more balance to it. Since there's no reason to use the scar over the fnfal. If it was only ironsighted, then this would give people a decision of scope or no scope.
no reason to use the scar over the fnfal.
You can get both the SCAR and FAL. That's basically like having two SCARs with twice the ammo, and in a tight situation unloading them both deals more damage than you would with SCAR + AK.

Is the information on the kf-wiki regarding perks correct? It says that at lvl 5 firebug you spawn with the flamethrower and then at lvl 6 you spawn with ONLY the armor.Similar at lvl 5 berserker it says you spawn with a chainsaw, then at lvl 6 again, ONLY with armor.Seems like a downgrade to me.

Level 5 firebug spawns with armor and mac 10 if I remember correctly, and level 6 spawns with flamethrower and armor. Level 6 zerk also spawns with chainsaw and armor.

You spawn with both. You get all the unique benefits of the previous levels.

Yeah, sorry. No idea what Denote means.
Don't go to the wiki.
Alot of info is pretty outdated and wrong. Try the Tripwire forums even when alot of people there is a HOE elitist.
It's amazing how many people can't follow instructions on this game. We split into two groups of 3 and the group had 2 medics, me and some other guy. I tell the other guy to stay with the other group but he constantly followed me making it a group of 4 with two medics and a group of 2 with no medic. When I went to the group of 2 he'd follow me despite telling him not to several times..
Anyway, medic seems to be quite fast at getting up when you have people who like to run head first into a huge group with some crappy weapon and no armour.

Departed's way more campy. I recall joining in on a game where all it was was 2 berserkers hugging the doorway of that one room near spawn, with a bunch of demos in in the back.
I've got a clip of it floating around somewhere, but it's too poor quality to bother posting.
I was playing at Bedlam on Normal yesterday. Everything goes fine, had several close calls.
Until I got overwhelmed by the Patriarch and shredded me.

Found a huge server caked with mods and decided to join just to see how bad it was. Turns out they're the most hilarious awesome good-time servers ever.

Dice mod is a funny edition. My buddy rolled a tiny head. You could also get Super Mario Star Power complete with music, invincibility and zed kill on contact.
