I'm pretty sure you know Geralt is a book character, right? Sapkowski is the creator of the Witcher books, and if you enjoyed the game, I highly recommend you reading "The Last Wish". You won't be dissapointed.

At this point, I just really, REALLY want an option to turn shadows off, I could probably get a 30% increase in FPS if I could, but I can't.

Game is great so far, I'm really starting to like what they've done with the combat. Being able to import saves from the first game is cool too, feels good to be rolling with my Aerondight, D'yabel and Raven armor again.

Man I can play this game with all settings to Ultra even ubersampling, which you think would normally be godlike visuals which it is, but the fps difference between with and without it is game breaking... When you find Altair's (right?) body you get a special ability, what does it do? I didn't find him. Also I spent 30 minutes in the cave where Malena's quest happens and died 40 times too :(

Ok, so i've been playing for about 8 hours? Or so now. Just got to the Dwarves and the Wraiths, gotta say i fucking love this game. it spits on DA2.

HOWEVER, I must say I love this game already. Later I'll try pumping some settings up a bit, just to see what happens. Just out of curiosity, what happens if you [sp]simply choose to fuck his shit up in the battle[/sp]?

Ugh, TW2 is just sitting on my desk, taunting me. But I'm not playing it until I complete TW1. Incidentally, I just got onto chapter 5, so I think I can say that chapter 4 was undoubtedly the worst part of the game for me. So much running about in the same 3 areas, so much compulsory shit I had to do for people I didn't give one solitary fuck about, my god it's worse than chapter 2. Thankfully chapter 5's been much better so far.

So, the game won't start. I enter the CD-key, press ok and that's it, nothing happens. Anyone else having this problem?

Just got this, but my DVD drive isn't working, so now I'm installing it on my laptop and I'll try moving all the files to my desktop. I hope it works.

Is there anything special I need to know about the combat to fight efficiently? I roll when a swing comes near me, usually use the defensive spell when I see those huge guys with swords, and the ones with the shields, and every fight it feels like there's a deeper layer behind the combat that I'm missing. I think I just beat the Prologue like that, so I want to really understand things a bit more, lest I meet the Game Over stage a load of times like I did during the dragon scene. I think I'll read the Journal in-game again, or wherever it said the tutorials would be. Also, what use is meditation besides potion-drinking? Accelerated healing out of combat?

This is a rare gem of a game where I think it's easier to play with mouse and keyboard. Usually I would stick with a gamepad but the inventory system and such is clearly not made for it. Really fun game though, even though it is EXTREMELY hard.
