Sigh, im stuck on Baltimore's Nightmare, stupid riddles.
if i had my pc again. i feel so sad right now. ;_;
What happens if you port your first game save? Does it change the story or give you items?
Quick question gents. I downloaded a save game from somewhere else and I started the game with 250k Orens. Whatsup with that?
[sp]The Kingslayer is impossible to kill... jesus christ.[/sp]
What happens if you port your first game save? Does it change the story or give you items?
I haven't really noticed any story alterations yet, but I had some of my Witcher 1 items in my inventory. From what I've heard money should transfer over too, but that didn't happen for me for some reason. Then again I wouldn't want the massive gold stash I had in Witcher 1, would be boring if I could buy pretty much everything instantly. :v:
What I am really loving about the lore is that it implies Humans [sp]are an invasive species possibly originating from the real Earth, since they aren't native to this dimension and, upon arriving, were apparently surprised by the presence of magic.[/sp]
Would you recommend this game to somebody who didn't enjoy Witcher 1 all too much? I could never bring my self around to finish Witcher 1. There was something about it I just couldn't get into.
This game is awesome really easy to control and the potion shit isn't too complicated
Would you recommend this game to somebody who didn't enjoy Witcher 1 all too much? I could never bring my self around to finish Witcher 1. There was something about it I just couldn't get into.
Speaking as someone who just completed The Witcher 1, I don't blame you. Parts of the game are really good, but it requires an iron will to get through the worst the game has to offer, namely chapters II and IV. Witcher 2 is apparently perfectly playable if you didn't play the first game and they've took out most of the shitty quests and padding so I say go or it.
I alt tabbed during the naked scene and when I went back to the game she was fully clothed. :iiam:
Sorry bro big dicks reserved for real resolutions.
I've got an i7 OC and a 470, but no monitor that goes beyond 1280x1024! They're as expensive as my GPU... :smith:
Without much spoilers, is Sheala [sp]romanceable?[/sp]
how the fuck do I turn mouse smoothing off, I was going for the options button but the mouse handles like a fat guy on a rink of lard and I clicked on the 'exit to main menu' button by mistake never mind, found it
how the fuck do I turn mouse smoothing off, I was going for the options button but the mouse handles like a fat guy on a rink of lard and I clicked on the 'exit to main menu' button by mistake
Disabling v-sync usually fixes it, at least for me. And I have literally no idea what v-sync is supposed to do, it just somehow gets better
what the fuck [editline]18th May 2011[/editline]
Disabling v-sync usually fixes it, at least for me. However mouse smoothing is just the devs making the mouse handle like shit on purpose.
Turtlehead just bought me this, if he ever makes an appearance give him hearts :v:
I have made an appearance. Loving this game so far, doing the [sp]Troll Trouble DLC[/sp] quest now.
Ugh, TW2 is just sitting on my desk, taunting me. But I'm not playing it until I complete TW1. Incidentally, I just got onto chapter 5, so I think I can say that chapter 4 was undoubtedly the worst part of the game for me. So much running about in the same 3 areas, so much compulsory shit I had to do for people I didn't give one solitary fuck about, my god it's worse than chapter 2. Thankfully chapter 5's been much better so far.
Seriously need to complete the game myself, and then buy the witcher 2, or just buy the second one soon, and leave it to get dusty before I install it. :p
What happens if you port your first game save? Does it change the story or give you items?
I think it affects what some of the characters say in game. I lost my save game from first game long ago, so I didn't import, but [sp]Foltest mentions that Adda is dead, but I assume if you saved her in the first game he'd say she's alive[/sp]
I've been playing TW1. Doing that quest where you're working with the detective in Vizima. Except I followed the wrong track and now I can't get out of accusing Kalkstein. Now I have to find whichever autosave goes before the autopsy and start all over. God. Dammit.
I suck, don't I ? I recorded that a while ago, i'm in chapter 1 now.
Friend of mine was stuck on that part and died 20 times. He played like you did with the constant running around. I got it in one go because I used a different tactic. I used the shield power and was just very agressive. Attacked multiple times and rolled away just at the right moments. Also used the electric trap power, which was usefull when there were 2 left. [editline]19th May 2011[/editline]
I've been playing TW1. I had to start the game over cause I kept overwriting my autosave. :saddowns:
Imported my Witcher 1 save into TW2, got my awesome scimitar and silver sword that's basically excalibur, along with my awesome armour. CD Projekt are so good with continuity. I played through the prologue too and I'm incredibly impressed. The combat is much improved, I don't know why people are finding it so hard, after the first fight I got the hang of it pretty quickly. You're not invincible, having 2+ guys hitting you with swords is suicide and you've got to use every trick in the book to stay alive. The 'use all your consumables' directive was already firmly ingrained in my mind thanks to The Witcher 1, and as Geralt himself says in that game 'A witcher without his potions is half a witcher.'. The graphics are fantastic, and they facilitate the truly amazing art direction. There's not a scene so far that I couldn't describe as graphically stunning, not a character model that's not hires and beautiful, no colours that look drab and no cutscenes that I thought were unnecessary or boring. The scene with the, uh, blind man and the king was so beautiful I nearly wet myself. Runs relatively smoothly too, about 30-40FPS in outdoor areas with everything except AA, Ultrasampling and SSAO on. I would have preferred more but considering my rig is over 2 years old (OC'd Q9550, 4870 1GB, 4GB RAM) it's fine. [editline]19th May 2011[/editline]
I've been playing TW1. Where the fuck is the patch, CDPR. This thing needs some fixes asap. :smith:

How linear is this game? Considering buying it.

The performance is weird and is pissing me off. I played the game for like 20 minutes and I had it since Tuesday, only cause of that shit. Patch the fucking letterbox, fix a bit of performance dipping and fix the goddamn bugs people complain about already. They didn't even get their forums up yet. It looks like they got piss drunk when the game launched and didn't sober since.

That's like one of the most useless abilities in the game, specially an underleveled one. Use Aard and igni. I got a Phenom II x6 Thuban Black Edition CPU @ 3.2ghz a core Turbo Enabled I got 2 GTX Fermi 460's both Overclocked and both have 768mb VRam I got 16Gb of ddr3 RAM [sp]I got a big dick.[/sp] :smug: What am I missing too keep that 60fps to 24fps from happening... Is it supposed to feel that big? :v:
No current GPU can run Ubersampling (Supersample AA) smoothly. Wait a year or two.

Though, I have trouble maxing on Rift as well with Supersampling on, maybe if i just disable AA it would work. my res is 1680x1050, and it is rather difficult to notice the edge ripples... I guess Ill try when I get home. I don't wanna wait 2 years =P
[sp]Sneaking into Henselt's tent is a freaking bitch. It wont let me stun any of the guards, and the minute they see you you get 3 arrows and die automatically.[/sp]
