God damnit this game is great. The graphics are amazing, some of the best I've ever seen (only Crysis 2 looks as good). The lighting effects in particular are breathtaking. I love the combat, but I never got very far in the first game, so I'm not getting 100% of the story.
Wow [sp]I can't pass the part when you're supposed to run away from the dragon while you're helping the injured king.[/sp]
Just hold S and click the mouse button when it shows up. It's that easy.
CDProjektRed when did you submit to the DA: O theory of difficulty ratings?

Atleast this is twitch based so you have some control over your fate where in DA:O you had a lot less.
How could you even include Witcher 2 and Dragon Age in the same sentence? Witcher 2 is a stellar example of quality in every department. While Dragon Age 1 had some quality areas, a lot of it felt like a poor console port on the PC (Like 95% of games released today) - Dragon Age 2... the perfect example of a $60 piece of turd aimed at the console generation.
I like some console games but Witcher 2 is a stunning testament of why I am slowing moving away from consoles altogether and why I distance myself further from the COD/HALO generation...
Damn the [sp]guy who killed Foltest was Huge[/sp]
Trolls.
:iia:
One game I don't get bored of the dialogue too.
The only things I don't like so far is the stealth (I couldn't actually be stealthy at all, and wall hugging is really hard to do) and the stun instant kill animation thingy, it pulls me right out of the game when you're teleported to the middle of the room to do a useless, albeit cool animation to kill a guy.
Rest of the game is great, I'm picking nits.

Are you serious? I wasn't even insulting either game, I was making a joke. Hell, while in the same genre, neither of them are even competing against each other. You're seriously worse than a valve fanboy.
Just bought it and downloading now. Didn't know GOG was in Europe so I had a lot of issues with using my card. But holy shit this game is downloading fast. I'm getting 1.5 mb/s whereas in Steam I would only get .5 mb/s. Any idea how long this game is?
Alright well i've exhausted myself on this so i'm going to ask here. Anyone have any pointers, and by pointers I mean tell me what the fuck to do, on 'The Nekker Contract'? Been killing these things trying to find entrances to cut off for about an hour. Making me feel like a fool, like a fool.
Just finished the game. I like how it ended, keeping things open for future expansion packs, but not Fallout 3 levels of open-endings.
Going to do a second play-through next week, but I'm planning on keeping my first play through save file like TW1, just in case.
The Crasher: Enhanced Crashing Edition Crasher's Cut
seriously this game keeps fucking crashing

[sp]You're supposed to find a bookshop in Flotsam and buy and read some books on Nekkers and Endregas, only then can you proceed with the quest. [/sp]
These quests kinda remind me of Supernatural, what with the monster research then hunting them

This fixed it for me, http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/975399-the-witcher-2-assassins-of-kings/59162920
I haven't crashed at all since applying this.

Hey thanks for the tip on the quest, I was just about to ask about this same thing. Guess it makes sense :/
If you are having FPS problems and are running with a nVidia card, update to the beta drivers and don't install the 3D drivers. I got a 25+ FPS increase.

Better yet, uninstall your current 3D drivers
I feel like a hipster having played W1 and seeing a lot of people starting with W2 :frown: Well, their loss. Got some trophies yesterday, was shocked that you can equip them and have ability increase :wtc: In the first game you had to bring your trophies to some guy, it was better.

Appreciate the help.

I hope you know that witcher 2 has 16 different endings.

I beat W1 but I felt like a noob the whole way through. I had a hard time with the alchemy system and I could never use signs right. Hopefully I won't be so stupid in W2 v:v:v.
Okay I'm at a loss, no idea how to do the Gargoyle Quest, got the books, know they're riddles, but nothing I try works, anyone done it and can fill me in on how to do it or just tell me outright?
CDProjektRed when did you submit to the DA: O theory of difficulty ratings?
Normal is not difficult after you realize that you're supposed to (ab)use everything at your disposal.
You have to use magic, you have to use alchemy and you have to use bombs, traps and oil to win.

I like the addition but it is often to tricky to pull off same with combat in enclosed areas and all the moves/magic being a little to slow but fuck while it is hard it makes you use all the tools and the quality of the world is second to none, once again a flawed masterpiece but far less flawed than the first
I don't think I'll complete the witcher 1 with all those fucking crashes.
Damn I can't seem to find Diamond dust and another Silver Ore for the Silver Sword.

Shopkeepers sell stuff like that.
Im seriously enjoying this game. I have not got far, and wish i had a better graphics card but its awesome. I love how everything feels completely integral. Alchemy is important as opposed to oblivion where its a feature i want to use but just cant see the benefit. Can you do anything super cool with the various monster lures?
I love the satisfying feeling of killing something, it actually takes a decent amount of skill.
One gripe I have and was stated above is the lack of escaping enclosed spaces while fighting, there generally is no proper way to safely escape the enemies.
