I found a mod that makes your items weightless. No more throwing away iron ores and timber hooray! http://www.mediafire.com/?o0ph3lbdyboaymw
Is it possible to use shields? I'm not a fan of being a witcher who rarely uses anything other than swords :smith:

I gambled all my orens away on dice :smith:
I gambled all my orens away on dice :smith:
I spent all my orens on whores :smug:
Try the fight club that's how I get money.
hngh, what is it with bosses and cheap AOE/Knockdown attacks
who the fuck designed the kayran boss fight, since when was putting the checkpoint for the most difficult fight of the game so far BEFORE AN UNSKIPPABLE FUCKING CUTSCENE a good idea
They weren't very good at placing checkpoints. A later bossfight, [sp]Draug[/sp], has its checkpoint 3 fights before you actually face it.
Removed the 3D Vision drivers and now the game runs beautifully. 30-60 FPS depending on location. ~20-30 FPS with uber on. Here's a few screens I took. Fucking gorgeous game. http://cubeupload.com/codes/1e9c00
Just completed the game, loved every minute of it. Took me about 23-24 hours, a lot of the time difference from The Witcher 1 probably comes from the cut down traveling time as you don't have to chase half of the NPCs across the map just to complete a quest, in the sequel. It's definitely one of my favorite games of 2011 and probably of all time, I loved the first one to death and I love this one even more. I'm probably going to play through it again, after they've patched it a bit, and see how different choices affect the story.
yeah witcher 2 dominates the modern rpg/hack-and-slash field any more. there's nothing else as exciting as it (although pretty much all of the side quests are really lame/time consuming and not rewarding at all) some of the cinematics are AMAZING and others are a total borefest. it was like a blend of mgs-style cutscenes and dragon-age "pan camera back and forth between speakers with looped animations"

The monster side quests are pretty boring, but most of the others are both interesting and rewarding.
Hopefully I can pick this up this weekend :smith:
I gambled all my orens away on dice :smith:
quicksave
The only bad thing about playing this game maxed out so far is that every other game coming out on PC looks like poo doo on PC in comparison. Torchlight II looks like Super Mario Bros and Deux Ex looks like a 4 year old Xbox 360 port. Thanks for spoiling for us forever CDProjeckt ;)
Just bought this. 4% at 300kb. :smith: Aint gonna play this tonight unless it jumps to 1mb soon.
I spent all my orens on whores :smug:
I got no orens to spend on whores now :smith:
So guys, any tips before I start?
So guys, any tips before I start?
Quen is awesome. Died so many times in the prologue til i used it.
I got no orens to spend on whores now :smith:
Better go beat the shit out of some homeless people for money.
Better go beat the shit out of some homeless people for money.
I guess I have to. Oh well, gotta get the whores.
use your medallion to highlight stuff For uninstalling 3d drivers do I just remove them with driver sweeper or is there a better way?
well evidently there's different blood spatters that leave you all over the place so there's a lot of backtracking required
What's your favorite type of magic? Mine's lesbomancy..
fuckshitupology
I disagree with the sidequest part. The monster side quests are pretty boring, but most of the others are both interesting and rewarding.
This. I did the one where you went to the ruined hospital, it was above and beyond anything in the first game. And thankfully the 'kill 10 x' sidequests are fewer in number, paving the way for proper quests. 'Troll Trouble' is good too, if you haven't downloaded it you should.
Normal is not difficult after you realize that you're supposed to (ab)use everything at your disposal. You have to use magic, you have to use alchemy and you have to use bombs, traps and oil to win.
Yeah I'm still adjusting to the new mechanics like the fact you can't swig potions mid battle and the vigor system. After a marathon run of the Witcher 1 I'm too used to the old system, so, for example, I try to conserve signs instead of sending them off every five seconds. The other problem is that my computer doesn't run this all too well so the open combat system, while for the most part an improvement in mechanics, doesn't work out too well for me. I ended up switching to easy, which I find too easy. I'll probably try to master the mechanics now and then switch back to normal.
