The Witcher Megathread - Games

The only thing I can think would make this better is more open maps. I hate being stopped by a tiny ledge.

I just got to Flotsam, went to brothel and banged 3 whores there. Can I bang more? Is there any elven hoes?

I finished the nekker quest. Was also killing the endrega cocoons as I was looking for the nekker nests then all of a sudden a dam endrega queen comes out of nowhere are starts beating the shit out of me. I put falka's blood on my silver sword and threw bombs at the queen and counterattacked her ass til she died. Killed the last nekker nest and now I'm going to celebrate with a bar brawl and a wench.

Gwalhir is the best steel sword in both games.

do any of you guys know where the dun banner is in the catacombs? i'm tired of looking around inside of it. i've siphoned through all of the bodies that i know of and have killed off what feels like a hundred wraiths and STILL there's nothing. It's behind one of them.

Wow I can barely run this game. Any major settings I can turn off or lower that will improve my fps a fair bit without sacrificing visuals? I feel like I've bitten off more than I can chew with my system. Anyone know where I can get the things I need for the Kayran armor.

SSAO is highly unecessary it looks good on the characters but on everything else it's very subtle. that and the shadows aren't very high resolution so you get the orange box esque grainy shadow edges which gets kind of odd to look at.

No current GPU can run it smoothly.

does anybody know what ubersampling even really does? I'm sure it's been asked a million times. visually I've seen no difference at all.

Where the fuck can I find Nekkers? There were a ton of them when I wasn't looking for them. I can't find any now.

Just remembered I have a gamestop card with $60 on it..Trying to decide if I want to buy this with it or save it for another game...

My computer apparently meets the recommended, but overheats like a bitch and I get poor FPS on a lot of things. If I were you I'd lower Shadow settings, Texture Mem size to Medium or maybe small. Motion Blur to off since that could cause some stutters if you whip around too quickly. Bloom and other light options are GPU hungry, so I'd pop those to off, unless you like bright lights. SSAO and Wet surfaces could be turned off for certain. And like others have said, turn off Ubersampling. Its just not worth the trouble. Just my 2 cents. I've pretty much everything on low and my card heats to 104 during battle heavy scenes. You also have the same card as me. Oh man, I didn't think I'd see the day. Also, if your case isn't properly ventilated, you'll want to run at a smaller resolution to avoid overheating.
