Keep going at him and never let him cast his Quen, just keep very close to him then dodge when he attacks and power attack him in the back. Sometimes take some distance and cast Quen yourself incase he should cast Igni or Aard. Also don't forget to be jacked up on potions.

How do you use bombs and traps? I have them equiped but I don't know how to use them.
That would be pretty cool if they would release DLCs and continue story

Read the book on nekkers, you can get it from the dwarf in town. It tells their weaknesses, i.e. susceptible to bleeding, and grapeshots.
For those who are STILL having trouble with combat, you HAVE to use all your skills at your disposal but MOSTLY dodge. You can't just go in swords blazing... :)
Also, quen is your best friend, especially after you upgrade it once because it reflects damage back to the enemy.
Mutagens can be used in your skill tree if the skill has a little open circle next to it. Highlight the skill and an UPGRADE option will appear on the bottom right. I would only use the GOOD mutagens because you can't change them later....

Agreed so much, only on chapter 2 I realized you can press j to show all the quests and choose which one to do.

Uh, the game tells you that early on, but the messages doesn't last long so maybe you went into a cutscene right when it appeared or something.

This game is absolutely amazing, I'm kind of depressed right now after finishing it once, to know that it'll be months until something of such quality will come out again, if at all. Hopefully upcoming titles such as Skyrim and Deus Ex 3 will have a powerful storyline anywhere as close as this one, and I'm really loving the open ending giving potential for further development.
Next up is Witcher 1, although probably should have played that first, but I'll get a better understanding of the game anyway.
I love the clothing design in this game.

I personally really love that they don't hold your hand. In other rpgs you get shit easy, even on hardest.
Here anything higher than normal is a total pain.
I like games where you get easy for noobs, medium for normal people and hard for masochists.
I discovered my mouse makes all the "spam left click" QTEs incredibly easy thanks to the rapid fire macro.
