Well I used to play the first witcher but I never finished it and sadly I had to reformat after that. I tried to reinstall the first witcher a month ago and it would not let me. Do I need to have finished the first witcher in order to understand the second?
Can anyone help me on troll trouble quest? [sp]i want to help him, who i need to talk in town?[/sp]

The second game is only a month after the first and basically a direct continuation.
Damn you witcher one for not working...
Damn you witcher one for not working...
If you need to buy the first one again it's $4.99 on GOG.
THAT's TOO MUCH!
Seems like a silly question for me, but is it worth it to buy the first game for plot significance or is it just fine from a story standpoint to just buy the second game? How good is the replay-potential of this game? [editline]22nd May 2011[/editline] Is it comparable to that of Mass Effect 2?
where do i get the content from the digital pack?

You'll be a LITTLE clueless at the beginning but it gets wrapped it relatively quickly and you'll be good to go. Fantastic game, though. [editline]22nd May 2011[/editline]
where do i get the content from the digital pack?
register your game in the launcher & hit the downloadable content button for troll trouble addon everything else is under your steam library. It's under tools, like where you would find SDKs and dedicated server assets to other games.
53.6 hrs last two weeks only now just [sp] got rid of king H's curse [/sp] yup
How good is the replay-potential of this game? [editline]22nd May 2011[/editline] Is it comparable to that of Mass Effect 2?
Replayability seems high. I heard there were like 16 different endings or something and chapters 2 and 3 can be completely different depending on your choices.
How good is the replay-potential of this game? [editline]22nd May 2011[/editline] Is it comparable to that of Mass Effect 2?
Mass Effect 2 had replay? The only thing ME2 really had were options that got people killed and/or didn't. That's about it. Witcher 2 gives you entirely different perspectives and playing fields to visit. It doesn't just boil it down to "do this and ___ dies" like Mass Effect and Alpha Protocol do. [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] also I hate how in TW2 you're gripping your seat with chills down your spine and then it's over. It's just done. End. You sit back, wriggling your brow, thinking "what the fuck?" because there's just SO MUCH MORE that you want to find out and do but you can't because, you know, you just beat it. They need to stop making games like that. Some of us are going to be pulling our hair out until the next title.
um i clicked dl on troll trouble but it keeps redownloading it. i restarted tw2 and it keeps doing that
um i clicked dl on troll trouble but it keeps redownloading it. i restarted tw2 and it keeps doing that
Same with me. I would like to play it on the second playthrough.
Yeah this game is chuck full of em, kids always run around you asking to play squirrels and soldiers.
I remember in the first chapter of the game at Flotsam, I arrived in town at night after along day of adventuring to pass by a campfire that had a bunch of villagers around it. One of the NPC's was telling a story by the fireside. I stopped what I was doing to "sit" in and listen to the tale, which ended up going on for about 5 minutes before the NPC's all got up to go to bed. Was pretty awesome. Also, this is the first game in a LONG time where I'm getting totally into it, to the point where I don't want to stop playing. Usually I can really enjoy a game and then just put it down and do other stuff, but this game carries some kind of child-like nostalgia feeling for me that makes it so I don't want to stop playing. It's hard to describe, really. Carries a similar feeling for me that I got as a young teen playing Morrowind at a friends house for the first time, such a sense of wonder and interest that brings me into the world. And theres some gameplay relevant moments like this too. Such as an amulet I got at the begninning of the game, ended up finding some random NPC in Flotsam in an effort to try and find someone for another quest. Turns out, she has an interest in said amulet and it supposidly can have its power re-awakened if I get her some rare ingredients. All of this is outside of the questing system too, just out of the blue. [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline]
You'll be pretty lost. I only got to act 3 in witcher 1 before I gave up.
The first game up to Act3 is pretty boring. The rest of the game is pretty dam good but it takes like 20 hours to get there.

how the hell do I make the mongoose potion to fight katran? I found the ostmurk in the cave and now my journal tells me to craft the mongoose potion. what? sometimes the mission directions in this game are so vague :(

Make the mongoose potion.
I don't have the option to make the mongoose potion.
I don't have the option to make the mongoose potion.
You sure you have all the ingredients or the formula diagram? I think if you get rid of the diagram you can't make the potion but I'm not 100% on that.
I don't think I ever got the diagram. When was I supposed to get it?
This has happened a few times now. During that two to three second window when a bossfight or sequence fades to black to transition into the cutscene, I get killed. A few times it was because I was on fire, a few other times because a few stragglers were apparently still alive and were wailing on me during the black screen, SO MUCH RAGE.
Usually cutscenes happen only when all the enemies are dead. :crossarms:
For instance, during Chapter 2. [sp]When i'm protecting the King from the Wraiths during the ritual, one or sometimes two are still up by the time he needs to hit the Witch's ghost with the spear. While the screen fades to black the remaining enemies still attack me. It's fucking annoying, other than that and the game's crashing issues, it's amazing.[/sp]

Arm wrestling with [sp]Adam in chapter 2[/sp] is hot. I'm always incinerated because the game puts me into the fire :v:
Just got this game, all around I like it, but I feel like I am missing something in the combat. Are there any cool combos you can do or is it just seriously left clicking and right clicking with a bit of parry and dodge thrown in?
