Can anyone help me on troll trouble quest? [sp]i want to help him, who i need to talk in town?[/sp]
anyone?
anyone?
[sp] Find the trap trader. He has the trolls wife's head. He is one of the guys you need to beat in dice poker quest. You can win the head by playing dice, and he will tell you the location of the murderers[/sp]
Just finished the game. Wow. Unrelated bonus picture:
I'm not sure if this spoils anyone but i'll put it in tags anyway: [sp] I get the feeling I skipped a hell of a lot of content in Chapter Three. I did like one quest, saved Triss, fought a dragon and then suddenly bam the word Epilogue is on my screen. What happened? (Also can you only solve contracts of the creatures you have 'knowledge' of? And how do you get this knowledge? [/sp] Also [sp] How am I supposed to craft that sword with the dragonhide if I never got the chance to loot the damn thing after I killed it, and what's the point if the game justs ends 5 mins after that fight? [/sp]

Quite possibly from the riddle in the gibberish language.[/sp]

Jim Sterling's reviews often strive for attention and controversy most of the time, giving high scores to awful games and low scores to great games. Read that review just now, seems like he's too impatient to give the difficulty and pacing a chance.
It's kind of weird how everyone says this game is super difficult, I mean sure its challenging which is why I love this game but i've played on normal since I started (halfway through chapter 2 now) and never got stuck at a certain part or had problems with the difficulty. Should I turn it up to hard?
So the patch was suppose to come out today, but apparently, CDPR, being such a big failures when it comes to handling post release of a game, delayed it again. Good job. You do make an amazing game and all that, but God you guys are fucking horrible when it comes to other stuff.
The game is difficult but its a fun difficult. Only have had trouble with [sp]Letho[/sp] and the prologue when I had no idea what the hell I was doing.

Quen and Samum stun bombs are really helpful, and Dragon's Dream is good for panic moments.

Haven't seen any announcements about it coming out today. I don't really care though, the patch seems to only fix some problems with launching the game etc. that never happened to me.

And the patch doesn't just fix that. It fixes a bunch of bugs and issues, including some performance optimization I think.

But either way, I hope they release the patch that supports other aspect ratios than just 16:9 soon.

Not when the game says its dusk [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline]
Jim Sterling's reviews often strive for attention and controversy most of the time, giving high scores to awful games and low scores to great games. Read that review just now, seems like he's too impatient to give the difficulty and pacing a chance.
Not really, Jim just has REALLY wierd things he finds as gamebreakers to him. Often really great unnotticed titles will get a good score from him, but I find jim is way to harsh with judging small design errors, such as a lack of a good tutorial. Since this game does all the things wrong that Jim Sterling always hates in video games, other great points such as great visual fidelity, solid combat and gameplay overall are rated as less importance by him. Which makes it so often his reviews either hit the mark in a way that no other reviewer dared to try, or completely miss the point that everyone else caught onto. If you notice he says he thought the game itself was good. But he gets really attached to negative things like cliffhanger endings, odd difficulty curve, lack of clear explanation of a few things, etc which most people would find to be minor annoyances, so games that oversight such things tend to get really oddly scored by him.

Does he actively try to dislike a game?
pretty accurate assessment in the comments
Jim doesn't have an opinion. He has an agenda. If a game is scoring highly on Metaciritc, it is his sworn duty to troll the game to hell and back with a bad review in a desperate attempt to bring this website more views.
Should I invest in the knife/dagger throwing skill? I'm not far in, but I just unlocked the other three trees and am leaning towards actual swordplay as I don't use traps (besides conflagration) that much.
No harm in doing it, but it's rarely useful.
Its actually quite useful at luring targets to traps. Set up a triple trap of conflagration (Or whatever its called), tossed a knife at two shielded guys in the distance, they came walking over and exploded. Can't do that in Chapter 2 seeing as enemies charge at you from a football field's length.
I bought the game on Friday.. still can't download Troll Trouble.. I am wondering if I am going to progress past the point of even being able to play the DLC. Isn't it only available for Flotsam?

If you get to 2/2 of the Witcher ability in the top right corner (can't remember what it is) you get +1 vigor and you get even more vigor as you go down the magic line, too. If you get 50/50 with your magic/swordsmanship, you can usually have about five-six blocks of vigor by the time you're at the end of the game + your blocking only takes away 25%-50% vigor, so you can block substantially more + your magic attacks will be absolutely devastating. Couple that with bombs and it can be even worse. There's a few bombs that put toxic gasses in the air and some of them are even flammable when you use the igni sign.
