The DLC is free any way, ask a friend with working DLC to send it to you maybe? Just finished it. I remember some jerk posted a massive spoiler here and was banned for that, well I'm happy it was bullshit and nothing actually was spoilt. The first game ended with some comics and an awesome CG outro, nothing in Witcher 2. In fact, there's no ending at all... [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] and yeah, I wish there were more side quests. [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] and my lover from the first game :argh:
Anyone got patch/change notes for the new patch?
1. Simpler and more reliable game installation and activation. Details to be revealed soon. 2. Fixed the free Troll Trouble DLC download. It is now included n the patch so there's no need to download and install it separately. 3. Fixed an issue that prevented some users from downloading other free DLCs (the ones given out with some pre-orders, special promotions, etc). The launcher now properly refreshes the list of available DLCs and allows for installation. 4. Performance improvements: approximately 5% to 30% better framerate and faster game loading for many users, depending on their individual systems and game versions. Owners of retail versions can expect the biggest improvements. 5. Fixed random crashes occurring on some systems, especially after saving and loading saves. 6. Key mapping – allows the arrow and number keys to be used for movement. 7. Added the option to invert the mouse. 8. nVidia surround vision now works properly. 9. More accurate assessment provided by the "auto-detect settings" option will help improve game performance. 10. Removed a bug that prevented completion of the “Blood Curse” quest. 11. Fixed a bug that prevented the additional link in "Extras" from being unlocked after winning the dice game against the GOG.com monk. 12. GOG.com credits now work properly.
Rest of the notes will be released after the patch, which is going to be this evening
Finished the game, [sp]let the King live, saved Triss, let Sile die, let the dragon live and let Letho go (he wasn't all that evil in the end). Due to those choices the ending was uhh... Unusual? Letho and Geralt part waving goodbye and then you're off to find Yennefer (I guess), it's pretty much the exact opposite of the usual ending (not that I complain though, being able to just tell Letho to go his way instead of the usual final duel was awesome). Still feels like I missed a lot though, Saskia was onscreen for like 30 seconds, Detmold got away and a lot of stuff is still not concluded. I'm guessing those parts would have been explained if I had gone with the Elf instead of Roche?[/sp] [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] Oh and one of the best RPGs in a very long time.
Rest of the notes will be released after the patch, which is going to be this evening
nothing about the black bars?
I hope [sp]Letho[/sp] returns in TW3
I hope they will release full length DLC in month or two where you search Yennefer. I'd pay full game price for it
nothing about the black bars?
the black bars are the last thing on my mind I'm fucking excited about those performance boosts, especially since I have the retail version.
Looks like the game is coming for xbox 360 aswell, as you can see here Oh well, I was going to get a new pc somewhen later this year for bf3 and witcher 2, though it looks like I can now finally play it.
it's gonna end up being like, 5 discs.
As far as I know, witcher 2 is about 14 gigs of size so that would be two discs
I hope [sp]Letho[/sp] returns in TW3
Goddamn it, why did I click the spoiler when I didn't finish the game. Now I know that [sp]Letho probably doesn't die in Witcher 2[/sp]. Fuck me sideways.
nothing about the black bars?
Nope. Probably not going to be fixed with this patch, though I hope it is anyway. It's from the game not supporting the 16:10 resolutions and slapping it in the letterbox to keep it at the correct aspect ratio when using them, a 16:9 Resolution does not have the Letterbox. And they said that they WERE going to fix this, so I'm waiting impatiently. I can't stand letterbox myself, I really hate it

That's a weight off my mind. It just seems a little weird that it was implemented to begin with; in a game as expansive, detailed, and with so much obvious work put into it as TW2, what prevented them from writing a tiny bit of code that moves the HUD elements depending on what aspect ratio you're playing at? It's a trend in videogaming that I honestly just cannot understand; regenerating health I'm fine with, ironsights are great, XP systems in multiplayer are.. alright I guess but WHY THE BLACK FUCKING BARS
They mentioned it on the GOG forums.
* No support for resolutions other than 16:9 - This WILL be resolved in one of future patches.

They mentioned it on the GOG forums.
Well that's great of them, in all of the other games I've played with it in despite no people liking it they never got rid of it. [editline]25th May 2011[/editline]
Looks like the game is coming for xbox 360 aswell, as you can see here Oh well, I was going to get a new pc somewhen later this year for bf3 and witcher 2, though it looks like I can now finally play it.
Well it's great to see more people will be able to play it.
I should finally be getting this tonight. Good timing since the patch comes out today too
The game has loads of endings... [sp]Just because he didn't die in his game doesn't mean he wont die in yours[/sp]
Oh, good then.
Rest of the notes will be released after the patch, which is going to be this evening
So basically just a bunch of small bug fixing. Not bad I suppose, though I'm not affected by any of the bugs/issues mentioned personally.
Want to start second playthrough already, but I guess I will wait until I can get cheap steam version, should be in mid-june.
Looks like the game is coming for xbox 360 aswell, as you can see here Oh well, I was going to get a new pc somewhen later this year for bf3 and witcher 2, though it looks like I can now finally play it.
Mixed reports, but that ESRB entry makes that seem convincing. PC Gamer has it down that the E3 announcement isn't going to be the Console Version or a Sequel. http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/05/24/witcher-2-developers-to-announce-new-project-at-e3-2011/
i wonder how this red engine will perform in console. It is very very demanding even at low settings.
i wonder how this red engine will perform in console. It is very very demanding even at low settings.
Probably with some extensive changes it'd perform to an acceptable degree in terms of what is acceptable on a console.
Going to start a new playthrough tomorrow, will take the [sp]Elf-guy (I can never remember his name)[/sp] path this time. I better be able to fuck [sp]Saskia[/sp] though.
Going to start a new playthrough tomorrow, will take the [sp]Elf-guy (I can never remember his name)[/sp] path this time. I better be able to fuck [sp]Saskia[/sp] though.
I'm sure you will penetrate her one way or another.
I'm sure you will penetrate her one way or another.
I'd imagine that since I sided with [sp]the King and got to decide if to kill him or spare him, I'll get the same decision with Saskia if I side with her (wouldn't exactly mind if she raped Ves, as long as I am provided with video evidence).[/sp] Either way I'll know in a day or two.
So, I'm playing The Witcher 1 and am in Act III. I have quite a problem with the sides now. [sp]During the bank robbery, I wanted to stay neutral, which didn't turn out right at all. I ended up killing the Scoia'tael, with Yaevinn escaping. Now, Declan Leuvaarden says he needs military support, and I'm to convince either Yaevinn or Zygfryd to help me out. Can't find Yaevinn after his escape. Is there any way I can still switch to the Scoia'tael side now, or am I fucked and have to stick Burning Rose?[/sp]
