I know that, but there's a difference between a review and a news piece.
So, I don't have to complete the witcher, and play the second game, and have some default choice beginning, or just have saved games for it. Can you clarify on this?, and don't reply to me with oscar gifs.

why is this question so fucking prevalent
the saves from the first game have virtually no bearing on what happens except a few lines of bonus dialogue and an item or, if that
but for christ's sake at least attempt to play the first game, if only for the backstory

There are zero games today that would require you to play a previous game before playing the next game is possible, you never have to ask this question again, ever.
But do play the first one, if some of the sidequests bother you, don't do them, stick with it until chapter 3 as that's where most people agree things pick up (I personally thought 1 and 2 were pretty decent chapters).

like, i never played the first one and nor do i plan on ever playing it. witcher 2 is just so amazing that i don't want to go to the previous title and find out that its gameplay is absolutely annoying.

It's buggy to say the least, DLC didn't work for me, they say they're gonna fix it with the upcoming patch.
Yeah, DLC and codes are hosed. I sold my Magical Suit DLC on ebay.. and the person said it isn't working ;)
