In Chapter 1, where can I get [sp] a new silver sword? I can't find the dwarven smith the quest talks about[/sp]
He's in the back alley. If you go to the gallows in town, turn away from them and head down the alley on the far left. Can't miss them.
Anyone know where the fuck do I find an Endriag Fetus in act one killed all the queens and coocoons, all I am getting are embryos EDIT: Nevermind, the embryo's count. I forgot I haven't fought the arachus yet, which I hear is at the end of Act 1
So who's everyone's favourite character. I like King Foltest. Even his [sp]death[/sp] was awesome.
DO NOT WATCH IF YOU HAVEN'T COMPLETED THE PROLOGUE
[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mdFEQQ_icI[/hd]
Roche, Letho or Zoltan.
I noticed the abrupt color correction (?) in Flotsam as well, but that's about the only place so far. I must agree, I really like Foltest as a character. Just a straight-up pompous bad-ass. Though from within the closer circle of friends I like Zoltan the most. I just really like that outgoing attitude and snappy mouth of his. I must say, they've done an amazing job nailing down the character archetypes and then sticking to them perfectly.
have you played witcher 1? [editline]27th May 2011[/editline]
The graphics in this game are amazing. The best graphics in an RPG so far. I hope they sell the license for the engine, would be awesome to see more RPG's with this engine.
RPG? I think it has better graphics that crysis too.
RPG? I think it has better graphics that crysis too.
witcher 2 has terrible shadow resolution and so the edges come out awfully pixelated however it compensates by having a ton of shadows it looks nice, visually, aside from some odd color correction at times and some highly unnecessary sharpening along with that but the shadows are just so butt ugly sometimes.
While the technical features of the game engine are great and allows for some pretty neat lighting, the real reason why the game looks so good is because the developers crafted some very believable and populated environments. The forests of Flotsam are covered in foliage, I found myself just walking around it admiring the small details they added. They also did a perfect job of implementing the depth of field within gameplay. This usually is just an eyesore but because there is SO much detail in every little thing it looks great. It also runs beautifully for just how much is crammed in each area, with a reasonable lod distance for objects as well. Post processing effects are rather nice too, lots of color which is something games seem to be lacking nowadays. I almost wish there was a feature to go into a "first person" mode simply to just look around in with no HUD etc. Crysis is technically superior in a graphical sense, but the engine doesn't make the game pretty, it's how the developers craft the world that makes all the difference.
I think it is the most beautiful technical and artistic game on the PC right now. There are plenty of games that have one or the other but rarely both at this level. And it runs at 60 fps on my machine.. I can't say that for Crysis Warhead :)
In Flotsam, we cut the hands off thieves.
You should see how many embryos I have sitting in my fucking pack.
I wish the inventory system was set up a little better. Feels weird.
Why do mutagens have weight? They look like cells, they should be 0. I have 10 pounds of Lesser Strength mutagens. :gonk:
I kinda wish they kept the voice actor for Iorveth from the announcement trailer. Sounded a lot better than the one they have now.
have you played witcher 1?
I have. I'm guessing Zoltan's numerous appearances there is what led me to like him.
I'm using Dandelion as a kingdom name by coincidence. Heard it means flower. Might change though.
What exactly does the mutagens do? [editline]27th May 2011[/editline]
I'm using Dandelion as a kingdom name by coincidence. Heard it means flower. Might change though.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taraxacum
Using for a game I'm making.
How's the 1.1 performance difference so far?
How's the 1.1 performance difference so far?
No real noticeable difference to me but I didn't have any problems to start with also get all the pre-order bonus' here http://en.thewitcher.com/community/entry/34/ they all work fine
i love the troll in chapter 2. the way he talks is hilarious, i wish he could fight beside me throughout the entire game.
Never liked DLC items in RPGs - too OP. Deleted everything when I was playing but couldn't resist those herbalist's gloves.
After the patch, my game has been jumping like fuck, 5 - 30% fps increase? lolno
Man.. I can't believe how amazing this game is. I am in Chapter 2.. and the area around [sp]Sabrina's burnt wheel[/sp] is just fracking amazing. The graphics, the story, the mood. I can't believe some reviewers have given this game a low score. What a joke.
I've got this weird bug where one of my crafting diagrams isn't showing up in the crafting menu after I purchased it. I spent like 1500+ on this fucking armor diagram.
My game crashes every time when I enter that village after you kill those elves when you have to protect roche and triss. :smith:

This game is damn fantastic, first time playing and started on hard. I'm at Flotsam.
How's the 1.1 performance difference so far?
I didn't notice anything. Hell I barely noticed any difference between 1.0 and 1.1. The only thing different is that my menu loads instantly when I press Esc, it used to freeze for 4-5 seconds before loading and the map loads much faster now. Loading times are fast, just like they were in 1.0 for me. Performance is the same, with weird FPS drops to like low 20's in some small area in Chapter 2, that I cannot explain, since it runs 30+ in all other areas. And that's about it. Hopefully patch 1.2 will add 16:10 support. Edit: Oh and also, the mouse still "drags" in meditation/merchant menus, while in others it's fine.

I haven't played since the recent patch, I assumed it got fixed.
You mean Jim Sterling and that is it his review scores are a joke even if the writing often makes valid points
6/10 for a game like this? He gave Darkspore a 7/10 for crap's sake. He should't even count for Metacritic.
