while I was playing, I thought to myself "This game is so stable, I haven't even crashed yet!" and then it crashed
So I got the game I love it and told it to a friend he downloads it and complains about the controls, combat to hard and badly optimized (He got a Nvidia 9800 card). To top it off he said that DA2 and Fallout 3/Vegas were better. I felt like murdering him.
the controls are a little unresponsive at times sometimes I'll try and hit Q to do a sign and it just won't respond.

[editline]27th May 2011[/editline] And how can you compare this to Fallout?

With most things set to medium with things like UberSampling and SSAO off I can run it fine.

And tell me what FPS do you get and which Chapter. Cause I got an XFX 8800GT which is basically identical to 9800GT and I do have 30+ FPS on average but for some weird reason in some areas it goes down to like low 20's. Also, do you feel like the mouse is "dragging" in certain menus?
Chapter 2. [sp] The Succubus quest. I went the path to prove Elysias (sp?) was the murderer, but I've no idea how to go about this. Ieorveth demands proof and I can't find any. And I can't yank the thing sticking out fot eh corpse without 'special tools'. I'm stumped :c [/sp]
If I didn't like the Witcher 1 that much, do you think I'll like the Witcher 2? I'm not very sure if I should get it, but I think it looks good.
If you didn't like the first, you might not like the second. Though thats just my opinion.
If I didn't like the Witcher 1 that much, do you think I'll like the Witcher 2? I'm not very sure if I should get it, but I think it looks good.
I didn't really like the first but I'm loving this one.

I'm Playing the first one just so I can get everything out of the 2nd one! Sometimes I pretend I'm a witcher in rl. ._.

I don't like Witcher 1 all that much but I do like the story and all that but I just can't seem to bring myself to beat it. I'm about 3 hours in and just get tired of running around in the first little villages. Will Witcher 2 appeal to me more? I've been looking at some videos and such and it looks more interesting than the first.
Get surgical tools from the apprentice sorceress in the market square.
S'ankuu!
I can't right now I'm defragging, but the mouse drag yes, it's really bad when doing arm wrestling too.
Alright. Well, after you defrag, if you can, check that stuff and PM me.
I can't right now I'm defragging, but the mouse drag yes, it's really bad when doing arm wrestling too.
The delay in arm wrestling is supposed to be there by the way, it would be way too easy if the movement was 1:1 with the mouse. (Although it's still way too easy)
If you like quality RPGs, you will like Witcher 2. That is my opinion. Witcher 1 is a little wonky but had an excellent narrative.
Ratings poll, caution don't click if you haven't beaten chapter 1 [sp]Tool for Roche or Gaybows Iorveth, based on who you went with at the end of chapter 1, not the whole sword business in the garden[/sp]
My difficulty addicted console gaming boyfriend really wants this to come out for xbox. He's played quite a bit on my PC and he pretty much loves it. I'm usually not a fan of frustratingly hard things but he seems to love it, and it tickles his fancy, plus has a crafting system which he likes :v: Not that W2 is super frustraitingly hard, but it is hard and has its moments where it can be like that. Such as the awkwardly designed Kayran boss (which is easy to defeat once you understand the obscure way in which you are supposed to defeat it that the game doesn't clearly define).

At least that's what I've heard.
so I got drunk and lost all my stuff then this welsh twat was getting all up in my business and I told him I'd lay the smack down on his candy ass and he just laughed at me damnit
ran into a bug After talking to Phillipa Eilhart about [sp]entering the mist to get henselt's blood[/sp], the controls are completely unresponsive upon exiting dialogue. I can't run, move, open inventory or journal or map, nothing. Can't even meditate.

I have money right now and am contemplating buying it on steam right now.
Well they do plan to port it to consoles sometime later. At least that's what I've heard.
There's a game called The Witcher: Rise Of The White Wolf coming to Xbox and PS3.
I'd really like an answer to this. I have money right now and am contemplating buying it on steam right now.
I think so. I didn't care for the first one too much eiether, I quit at around Act 3. The enviornments also weren't appealing either. Witcher 2 is the exact opposite for me. Still has some issues but they are minor in the grand scheme of things for me though (lack of clear tutorial and how you should play, pretty bad interface, etc).
I'd really like an answer to this. I have money right now and am contemplating buying it on steam right now.
The story in TW1 is excellent. I'm in the middle of Act IV, and am loving it right now. The first chapter in the outskirts was really bad, but it picks up once you get to Wyzima. Game's still a bit boring in there, but I overall enjoyed myself. I doubt most other people would, though (and you especially seem like you wouldn't). Your call. As for The Witcher 2, I'm sure it'll appeal to you much more than the first one. I've only played about 1 hour in total (just wanted to see if it runs OK on my system), but it seems like it would be up the alley of most non-Poles.
Thank you for your answers. I decided I'll buy it.
I won The Witcher 2 from a PCGamer raffle a while back. I've raged at it more than I ever have at any game in two years. I was hurling curses at the screen during the prologue, and now I was smashing my head against my desk during the fight with the kingslayer. The Kayran was easy, I only died like 4 times instead of 30. It's still possibly the best Action-adventure RPG I've ever played. It's not so weighed down with RPG elements and loot like Oblivion and most MMOs, and it concentrates so much more on combat and environment rather than the amount of shit it can cram into itself. I also refuse to switch down to Easy mode. I'll beat this guy eventually.
