I'm pretty sure TF2 is doing a favour for The Witcher 2, it will get attention thus getting more sells. The Witcher series isn't a well known series even for it's deep lore to be honest.
So, on the polish CD Projekt website, the countdown says that the Witcher 2 will be launched at midnight on Monday (Monday -> Tuestday) Central European Time. Why the heck does The Witcher 2 official website have a different countdown then O.o

The game is gonna launch at the same time around the world, so they're just using their home timezone as the midnight launching point.
Yeah that's most likely it. The countdown on Witcher 2 site corresponds to midnight Pacific Standard Time and the countdown on CD Projekt site to midnight Central Europan Time.
There's no actual preorder bonus for the Steam version though right? Just the 10% off part
Isn't the Steam preorder also the digital premium edition? [editline]14th May 2011[/editline]
[img_thumb]http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/thumb/e/e2/Hero's_Tail.png/529px-Hero's_Tail.png[/img_thumb]
Oh god someone on the tf2 wiki actually thought it was in reference to Chell's hair. I mean, I thought Valve fans were smart.
Day um the stuff I traded in was worth $66, way more than I was expecting from Gamestop. Turns out I traded shit in at the right time, $10 extra per every 2 games and 50% extra on accessories. Paid off the Witcher 2 and have $16 store credit left. Guess I'll use that later for Deus Ex if it's any good or to CE of Skyrim if they announce it.
Isn't the Steam preorder also the digital premium edition?
I think you get that even if you don't preorder it

I just wanted to say that The Witcher 2 has one of the prettiest graphics that a PC game has, the detail and depth is amazing in every way. Seriously that fight with that golem doesn't even look ingame, looks almost like from a trailer.

why would anyone buy this game digitally when the ordinary retail version has as much awesome stuff with it as any other collector's edition I'm talking soundtrack, making of DVD, game guide, coin, and most importantly a big thick box, and not enough games these days come in proper boxes as opposed to boring DVD cases.
I meant preorder bonuses that weren't horrible jokes
Oh, then no.
why would anyone buy this game digitally when the retail version has as much awesome stuff with it as any normal collector's edition I'm talking soundtrack, making of DVD, game guide, coin, and most importantly a big thick box, and not enough games these days come in proper boxes as opposed to boring DVD cases.
Digital versions come with all that except the coin and box And GoG is DRM free
why would anyone buy this game digitally when the retail version has...awesome stuff with it
Well, IMO, almost all the physical crap that comes with collectors editions is worthless. I remember someone telling me about the batarang that came with Batman: AA. Was rubber (I think), and flexible, and couldn't even piece the skin. Not what he bought it for.

Did he honestly expect to get a dangerous weapon with a collector's edition of a game?
Pierce the skin? Did he honestly expect to get a dangerous weapon with a collector's edition of a game?
You don't get your self defense tools from video games? Pfff, nerd.
that was a joke but watevs :)
Digital versions come with all that except the coin and box And GoG is DRM free
Except it's not physical stuff if you buy the digital version. For things like the guide, I enjoy having a copy next to my PC instead of having to open a .pdf.
Except it's not physical stuff if you buy the digital version. For things like the guide, I enjoy having a copy next to my PC instead of having to open a .pdf.
It's still the same stuff. I agree that having the physical book is nicer, but it can get ruined and lost and stuff. But my point was it was the same shit.
Just got into chapter 3 in TW1. You guys think I can finish this before tuesday? I agree with people that the game gets better the more you progress. Chapter 1 was a but weak.
Fought that Professor that the weird dude at the swamps. Didn't know it was a unwinnable fight anyway.
Well, IMO, almost all the physical crap that comes with collectors editions is worthless.
I like having a physical copy, it makes the game feel more special. [editline]15th May 2011[/editline] I'm still on chapter 2, it feels fucking endless. It would feel a little better if there wasn't so much running back and forth. [editline]15th May 2011[/editline] The swamp is annoying, mostly because it encourages the running back and forth gameplay. You can just barely win a fight with some mutant plants, realize you have no healing potions due to alchemical bases being annoyingly rare compared to the other ingredients, then either spend an hour waiting for your slow as shit health regeneration to heal you, trudge back to the beginning of the area to meditate and heal, or press on and get your ass handed to you by more mutated plants. I really need a healing spell, though I'm not even sure if one exists as I only have the Aard. Am I supposed to have more signs by now? And how do I get silver talents apart from making mutagens? Also, where can I stock up on alchemical bases, I have an assload of ingredients but I never get the chance to use them as I'm usually only carrying around about 2 bases because I hardly ever find them. And does alcohol serve any purpose? It's taking up space in my inventory and from what I can see all it does it get you drunk.
And does alcohol serve any purpose?
Alcohol is a base.
And does alcohol serve any purpose? It's taking up space in my inventory and from what I can see all it does it get you drunk.
Get drunk, bang hoes, get sex cards. Tis what I did :v:
Alcohol is a base.
Only some of them are, the ones I'm lugging around aren't.
Steam is selling this game for $20. GOG.com is selling it for $5. I have no money. :smith:
Only some of them are, the ones I'm lugging around aren't.
You can makke alchoolic bases better quality by mixing that witchers brew stuff. Top quality spirits however need to be bought AFAIK at bars. Also, you missed Igni which IIRC is in the cave in the outskirts of Vizima, and there is a cave in the swamps that gives your Yrden. You should also run into a shield spell in the sewers. Not sure how much of this happens in chapter 3 though since chapter 3 is exactly like chapter two, except in a different part of town.
Another one to wet your appetites:
