I fucking hate Vergen so much. finding anything is near impossible. Trying to do that quest with the succubus but I can't even find these fucking catacombs. I really want to like this game, but pathfinding aspect is making it difficult.

I improved my games performance by a lot by just turning the resolution down. I find it weird because if I turn of any other settings like SSAO it doesn't make any difference. The Witcher 2 looks great even if it isn't at a high resolution!

If you could turn down the Blur and DOF it would improve preformance a bit, sad thing is you can't. It's off or on.
Why the hell would even want blur on a game like this let alone any game.
Ok, I've only just beaten Letho and have to choose sides. From what I've heard in-game, tell me how close I am to how things progress. [sp]Thaler's agent mentions about Roche being a patriot despite being an asshat. Iorveth says about someone in the east more worthy of the crown. IIRC there was something in the Witcher 1 books about Nilfgaard being ruled by an Elvish Empress. One reason Iorveth helped Letho was to destabilise Temeria and let Nilfgaard come in for annexation so they would be ruled by an Elf. Roche obviously fights this and wants Temerian independence. Is any of this mentioned later on?[/sp]
I don't mind it. During the quest with Malena I thought that sparing her might net me a fuck, but I realized half-way to the waterfall that it was a trap, and I was right. So I said fuck it to the Squirrels and chased Malena towards the hospital hoping that sexual assault on a stupid bitch got through the censors.
Haha us men are all the same !
it's mind boggling how I am near the end of act 1 and geralt didnt bone anything yet remember witcher 1? it was the equivalent of being the fantasy commander shepard, everything jumped on your dick
I've only found 4 sex scenes outside of prostitutes (never tried to fuck one so dunno how many of those there are): [sp] Triss in the elf garden pool thingy The elf you save from the burning building The Succubus on Iorveth's path Ves on Roche's path[/sp]

[/sp]. And Nilfgaard is ruled by Emhyr var Emreis, a human, the elven queen is pretty much a vassal to him now.
Why the hell would even want blur on a game like this let alone any game.
It looks really fucking good in Witcher 2, they don't use it everywhere. I.E. the forests in flotsam in the distance use blur to a really good degree to simulate haze/humidity and just how dense the forests are, and cinimatic blur looks really nice. Witcher 2 is just an all around brilliant looking game. Still one of the best looking PC games ever released.

Is there any documentation on the new content in the EE? I don't mind spoilers much.
Is there any documentation on the new content in the EE? Farm animals, dogs and cats can be found in populated areas. 2 new quite long quests in chapter 3. 1 for each path. This is mine opinion but Roche's extra quest is the better one while Iorveth's is a bit old school I think. Also they added lots of new swords where about half of them (and their diagrams) spawn randomly and the other is mostly find in Chapter 3. There are also new armors and armor pieces but most of them are broken or use wrong models (I got them through mods).

I thought they added two new quests, in that you could do them irrelevant of what choice you made in the game, because the whole act was super damn short. It's gonna seriously suck if you really can only do one quest per game. Please tell me Iorveth's isn't the sewer one. Because sewers are probably one of the most boring game enviornments to me, and I'm going to Iorveth's path this time around because my first run through I went with roache
the game is unfair when it comes to roche and iorveth both of them are damn cool motherfuckers
i enjoy roche's story line a lot better myself. it follows more of how humans would behave in the original stories. in iorveths most of the humans save for prince whats-his-face all seem pretty legit and the whole thing feels very "fantasy." in my opinion the little castle that they reside at should be in shambles to remind you that they are pretty much living off of literally nothing seeing as they're surrounded by king hensalt's army
Sadly, Iorveth's extra quest is indeed in sewers. In Roche's you enter one of the most beautiful forests in the game and the rest of the quest is also pretty interesting. And fuck, it's hard to choose which path is the better one, only thing I know is that for some strange reason I prefer Iorveth's. But to be honest, with Roche you can mess things up pretty well for the North. [sp]Stennis always dies, you can kill Henselt and if you give Annais to Radovid he most likely becomes the ruler of Aedirn, Temeria and Kaedwen. You can kill the dragon/Saskia, too. On Iorveth's path you can kill Stennis and always create new state of Upper Aedirn. Here I imagine that Saskia could possibly take over of entire Aedirn if Stennis dies. That is if you don't kill her in Chapter 3.[/sp]
Fuck. I jope someone releases a mod that lets you do both quests because that's totoal bullshit that they add this new content to the ahortest act of the game and only let you do half
the problem with roche is he really is a war criminal to put it to terms, hunts elves and enjoys it then you get captured by dethmold and he runs along to me saying OKAY FUCK IT GERALT WATCH AS I'M COOL Iorveth often makes exceptions. he can be level-headed
Honestly I have just as much trouble, if not more, sympathizing with Iorveth. While Roche seems to be hunting scoia'tael, I.E one particular group of non-humans, Iorveth seems more outlaw-ish in the sense that he's waging a personal war against ALL "d'hoinne" and would take out his revenge indiscriminately on any and all humans.
Is there a way to turn the Dark mode visual stuff off? It's really distracting.
What? My game looks identical to before...
During combat you get this dark filter over your screen when your wearing one of the armor and weapon sets.

Not even mentioning the Scoia'tael kill civilians when it pleases them, all he does is hunt guerrillas and Ves even openly states it's irrelevant if they're non-humans. You even have the option of kicking a bit of racism out of Roche's men when they come up with it. Roche is simple, he hunts Scoia'tael and the Kingslayers, so he is easily misguided. But he is a good man at heart, something I cannot say for Iorveth.

His hatred, from what I recall isn't boiled by vengeance and righting wrongs: it's mostly because he doesn't know how to communicate with humans. His concept of equality is through extermination and that's why he doesn't do much with humans themselves save for Geralt. That's also why despite being a high figure head, he doesn't have much, if any say in the nonhuman council. His passion is there and that's worth noticing, but like most Scoia'tael they're brainwashed to believing that the solution for stopping humans and/or gaining equality is through pure annihilation. for example, elves do not farm. they believe that, say, corn is a gift from mother earth and for them. humans are wronging mother earth by making fields and forcing her to grow corn. they think corn should not be treated as a slave to feed humans, etc. [editline]28th April 2012[/editline]
What? My game looks identical to before...
When you equip a dark weapon, your screen gets desaturated and you get overlays and loud sounds that practically drown everything out. It's an interesting concept but it's a real pain in the kiester to stay focused.
theres a mod on witcher nexus that removes the effect also one that rebalances the crafting requiresments to literally no longer require 2000k gold and 8 hours worht of grinding per set to get them
This game actually looks quite good, I may buy it.
I just beat it and enjoyed it thoroughly, buuuuut the pacing felt weird. When chapter 3 comes along, things felt like they happened at a more accelerated pace than previous chapters, then pow, epilogue. And another thing: calling each part a chapter. To me, it feels like the word should be reserved for a game with maybe 6 or 7 parts. Maybe it's just me, but calling them acts would fit a bit better. Regardless, the adventures of Vernon Roche and his buddy Geralt of Rivia was fun, and I'll have to go down Iorveth's path in dark mode when I want to play again.
Y'know, recently my mind has been pretty much thinking about Witcher, and I ended up thinking about "futurish" iterations of the Witcher, like a few hundred years after the current time, either in a sort of age of gunpowder or a sort of Victorian industrial era, something to show that the world does in fact advance, and show how the witchers have adapted to the changing world. It sounds weird, but one thing about medieval era fictional settings that i'm not fond of is the infamous Medieval Stasis, where nothing really seems to advance and everything sticks to a sort of pre-Rennaisance state of affairs; if it persists even after several centuries it only makes me wish to see how things would advance. For example in Skyrim, it's 2 centuries after Oblivion and nobody's worked out how to make gunpowder or cannons. That's something i'd like to see a medieval fantasy RPG do; show an advancement in the technological sophistication of warfare, accompanied by lamentations of the "death of honour" by certain honourbound warrior groups. It'd be interesting to see a fantasy setting wherein the age of gunpowder brings about a great change in the scheme of things, and it'd also be interesting to see how magic adapts to it, like perhaps some sort of sorcery that deflects/dissolves/decelerates bullets on contact, a sort of "bulletproof magic" that allows swordfighters to fight evenly against gunslingers. I think the bulletproof magic thing is gonna be part of one of my personal fiction projects; set on an alien world where the age of gunpowder is fought against by a "bulletproof monk" by the name of Gurath. That aside, my Witcher 2 is now fully installed. Took ages but it finished after midnight, so that's ok. Time to play it after my surfings reach their end.
