Dahl corrosive weapons utterly rape robots.
Corrosive weapons work too :v: I just haven't found many of them. And I find torgue to give a bit of a damage boost to pretty much all enemies, so I can stick to one weapon instead of having a situational one.
[sp]That's how I felt. I killed his daughter and snatched victory right from his hands, and i didn't feel right killing him while he still thought he was the good guy. I didn't necessarily want him be remorseful so much as I wanted no longer able to think he's a hero. I always end up just letting Lilith kill him.[/sp]
[sp]Then I remember Tiny Tina's parents, Helena Pierce, how he treated Angel, etc.[/sp]
Borderlands as a series has always been a game that will kill you. You will die. You will likely slog through several parts of the game, this is and has always been my experience. Some fights are very hard, and approaching them badly will mean you lose before you started. Not having the proper weapons equipped in BL2 is an even bigger deal. That fire gun? It's fucking useless on shields. It's horrible at armor. Your shock gun? Widely useful. Your corrosive gun? Really only good for one thing, armor. This game uses that to its advantage even more so than the last, and not having a set of proper weaponry on you will get you killed. I've found having just the 4 guns does me little good. I'm often carrying a back up 1-3 guns(I could get by with just one of these but I can't let go of some things) for various situations. I'm ALWAYS ready to throw my action skill down, to use it to the slightest advantage. It's a very powerful tool on every character, even in PT2(I've heard too much whining about how skills are useless in it, but I personally have not found this to be true at all.) so use it. The difficulty spike is large. The curve is small. Some enemies are best beaten with less than satisfying stratagys, badass or super badass constructors, just pull out your biggest shock or corrosive sniper or shotgun, stay WAY out of range or get second winded in front of him and use slag and a shotgun with high crit to wreck him really quick. Really some of the hardest and toughest units in the game seem to me, to be the nomads and super badass nomads. A problem with PT1 and PT2 is the massive and pure number spike. You go from small numbers to an exponential step up, so be warned about using a PT1 gun in PT2.
I think you might be doing something wrong if you are finding the game, especially hyperion robots, to be that dificult.
I can't think of anything. I'm using the best weapons available, I keep moving and run cover to cover, I use my turret gun often and aim for critical spots. Doesn't do shit though because they still take several magazines of whatever weapon I'm using to go down and they heavier guys that you will inevitably find deal so much fucking damage you can't poke your head out for more than half a second without being killed. Never had problems with the bandits or anyone else, they where all fun to fight. Just the goddamn robots.

They have armor and not health, so there's a difference, and it does really, really matter. Aim for the gun arm, aim for a leg, and then they're less mobile, less of a threat. You likely aren't using the best guns for the situation as I've never had such a struggle. Yeah, you can die a few times on a fight, but that's just bad luck I think.
Oh God, I tricked the game into thinking I was playing 4 players during the mission where [sp]you link Sanctuary back to the fast travel network after it got phased[/sp], that was stressful.

This game's difficulty has only two words to describe it. Nintendo Hard.

It's just so fun to blow their limbs off.
E-techs are overrated except for some SMGs.
I once found a Vladof automatic rail-gun sniper. As long as you have tons of ammo, it's far from overrated.
Guessing you've never had a hornet, thing raped shit faster than pretty much any non obviously OP gun out there.
Dahl and Jakob's guns are both completely useless. Maliwan and S&S are/were the best manufacturers. Torgue is okay.. but their guns are always flat out ugly. Only redeeming factor about Bandit guns is the magazine cap. Vladofs are inaccurate as shit, Hyperion guns are just full retard and Tediore guns are more annoying than Treshers. [editline]8th October 2012[/editline] And Atlas weapons were just Fudd Central.. a lot of useless pump actions and break actions.

Most of those manufacturers have a weapon type that is amazing. Dahl - unique assault rifles/smgs with 5+ round bursts while zoomed (Lascaux is my favorite gun in the game so far) Jakobs - revolvers and snipers Torgue - rocket launchers Bandit - repeaters Vladof - repeaters Hyperion - shotguns and snipers Tediore - any, use them to get 2nd winds.
Jakob's guns are both completely useless.
u wot m8
Jakobs Quads are the best shotguns, especially for a Gunzerker with 5 shots or 6, Filled to the Brim and Inconceivable maxed out which allows you to shoot a ridiculous amount of times before reloading
Dahl and Jakob's guns are both completely useless. Maliwan and S&S are/were the best manufacturers. Torgue is okay.. but their guns are always flat out ugly. Jakob's are very useful. High damage. High accuracy most of the time. High recoil I find is never a problem. Dahl make probably my favorite elemental smgs and the best etech smgs any day of the week. Average on everything but that's still strong. Torgue are very strong, very good at splash, and at shotguns. Mediocre pistols and rifles Ive found but strong as hell shotguns. Bandit are so far the worst, low accuracy and mediocre damage, high capacity but I've found it only really makes a difference on shotguns which are still strong. Hyperion is amazing and probably the best if you use it right(oh, a literally perfect accurate stream of super fast bullets is bad, riiiiiiight.). Maliwan are strong but I haven't found a weapon by them besides snipers I truly found use out of compared to similar brands. Tediore are amazing guns, like Dahl in that they're more or less run of the mill, average on most stats but with a reload feature that can make or break your play style entirely. I love them. Vladoff is mediocre, with high recoil and low accuracy on average, average damage but they're the opposite of Hyperion, they just end up being a wide spread, even on controlled burst, but it can do the job.
Don't take Honesty too seriously when he's talking about guns. He's as critical in the Firearms discussion thread as he is with things he knows little about.
He says S&S was the best manufacturer and then says Bandit is only good for its high magazine size. Wat? Bandit basically takes S&S's place in terms of manufacturer traits. Everything S&S was Bandit became just with a different aesthetic.
Dahl and Jakob's guns are both completely useless.
Not really, Dahl makes some awesome SMGs and Jakobs have some damn good snipers and revolvers.
Some enemies are best beaten with less than satisfying stratagys, badass or super badass constructors, just pull out your biggest shock or corrosive sniper or shotgun, stay WAY out of range or get second winded in front of him and use slag and a shotgun with high crit to wreck him really quick.
I always just ran up to them and unloaded my pistol on their face before they even managed to break my shields. :v: Then again, if I phaselock an enemy and combine the buffs I get for that with my sheriffs badge I get almost +100% to my pistol fire rate. Combine that with the ridiculous "pistol" (it really is more like a shotgun in denial) you get off Mel and I can just blast everything. Sadly it probably won't work for the second playthrough.
[t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/921242736001470168/271E3E444EF6D772262D7550C6CDD7609B728F52/[/t] Sticky and homing, how does that even work.
Just wait until you have longbow sticky slag singularity burst.
E-techs are overrated except for some SMGs.
Nigga have you ever SEEN SOME OF THOSE FUCKING RAIL SNIPERS? FUCKING PEW PEW PEW WATCHING MOTHERFUCKERS DROP. That said I haven't seen an E-tech shotgun or pistol.
Nigga have you ever SEEN SOME OF THOSE FUCKING RAIL SNIPERS? FUCKING PEW PEW PEW WATCHING MOTHERFUCKERS DROP. That said I haven't seen an E-tech shotgun or pistol.
I have a lvl15 E-tech shotgun. Shoots 3 ballistic slag projectiles that explodes on impact so it's really more of a grenade launcher than a shotgun. Used it for quite a while before it became obsolete. And don't you get an E-tech pistol as a reward for the E-tech mission? I got a terrible one that shot homing darts.
Maliwan and S&S are/were the best manufacturers. Only redeeming factor about Bandit guns is the magazine cap.
How on earth can you put these 2 things in a single post with a straight face?
I'll just have to say fuck no to this as politely as I can.
Jakob's are very useful. High damage. High accuracy most of the time. High recoil I find is never a problem. Too much recoil and a lot of the time their traits are useless. Double barrel shotgun, firing both barrel, that fires as fast as you can press M1? Really? Dahl make probably my favorite elemental smgs and the best etech smgs any day of the week. Average on everything but that's still strong. Burst-fire is INCREDIBLY annoying in this game as the time between each burst is timed. Torgue are very strong, very good at splash, and at shotguns. Mediocre pistols and rifles Ive found but strong as hell shotguns. - Bandit are so far the worst, low accuracy and mediocre damage, high capacity but I've found it only really makes a difference on shotguns which are still strong. - Hyperion is amazing and probably the best if you use it right(oh, a literally perfect accurate stream of super fast bullets is bad, riiiiiiight.). Having to empty half the magazine to hit anything is a bad trait. Even worse is the idle sway. Maliwan are strong but I haven't found a weapon by them besides snipers I truly found use out of compared to similar brands. That's reasonable, Maliwans aren't superb but the elemental damage is superior. Tediore are amazing guns, like Dahl in that they're more or less run of the mill, average on most stats but with a reload feature that can make or break your play style entirely. I love them. The reload feature is what kills Tediore for me. I reload every time I've used up some rounds and I end up tossing 30, 50 or 60 rounds out of the window. Vladoff is mediocre, with high recoil and low accuracy on average, average damage but they're the opposite of Hyperion, they just end up being a wide spread, even on controlled burst, but it can do the job. Exactly. I have a pistol with a really high RoF and a reasonably big magazine (11,7 and 53 rounds), but it's the only gun from them so far I've been able to actually keep. I'm on my second Commando playthrough and I've realized that tediore guns are hilarious to use if you just shoot one bullet and treat them as superpowered grenades, one shot everything :v: [editline]lol[/editline] like downed? toss an smg at your assailant and get an instant second wind badass enemy? toss a couple of guns at it and whoop it's gone it's simply hilarious
How the fuck am I supposed to kill Mad Mike on PT2. That fucker kills me in two shots. [editline]8th October 2012[/editline] And then I respawned and found him dead on the floor. What the shit?
