If I had to guess, I reckon DT goes nuts and kills her entire school or something. With nothing left to lose and a murderous robot by her side she decides that maybe becoming a vault hunter would be the best thing to do so she flees to Pandora. That or "just 'cause". I guess we'll have to wait for more ECHO logs to be posted to find out.

that would be an upside, not a downside (as in the upside is that it doesn't use shield power)
that would also make it a normal amp shield and useless, really
you're trading off a HUGE amount of shield for the damage buff you lose if you take 1 point of damage

Doesn't mean those new ones will be good. Pretty much all but one of the BL1's pearls were sucktastic.
The level cap will be increased and that means if new legendaries, new level whatever legendaries, so..

People give this more credit than it deserves.
It's OP, but remember, once you take a SINGLE point of damage, your +50k damage is gone, usually you lose a large chunk of shield. It's harder to do than you think.

It's pretty obvious the [sp]spawning pole[/sp] is [sp]her arm.[/sp]
But I don't think a girl who's still in school and builds robots for fun would [sp]cut her arm off just to avoid carrying something.[/sp] If anything it's more likely [sp]an accident causes her arm loss[/sp] and it just so happened to be convenient.

The right talent tree for Gaige really begs for Borderlands 2 to have more than 1 key for skill abilities, it might get a little confusing in the the heat of battle to reload and lose a buff but gain another one and shit.
.. And a 3rd person cam.
I would say the nerf for the bee will be something along the lines of it draining the shield by a small amount, but can still be used when its not full. So you would be vulnerable but still able to deal out huge bonus damage
