That's possible, only they rage a bit too much
Whipped this up in a few minutes in Forza. Kudos to whoever designed the picture of Lilith! :v:

Do people just work with like a billion layers of generic shapes or is a different kind of customization? care to enlighten me on it?
Because if someone made THAT just out of preset shapes then bravo.

That's because nobody believed in the vault in the first game and everyone thought hunters were crazy, but then a band of vault hunters actually found it. These same vault hunters also stopped the Atlas invasion and totally wiped their entire military force off the face of the planet.
Vault Hunters eat bowls of nails for breakfast without any milk.

Pretty much this - Vault Hunters are Pandoran superheroes in the eyes of your average person, they smacked Atlas down, they fought an ancient alien of tentacles and disappointment.
Mind you, the original vault hunters didn't even try to save T.K Baha, so, it just goes to show...something.
They weren't even aware about T.K.'s and Hyperion gun design deal.
So it's not their fault.

They were in New Haven when T.K. met his demise. Pretty sure they didn't even know (nor did he contact them). When you listen to T.K.'s echo logs in BL2 you can see that he didn't even bother contacting them because he didn't think they were coming for him.
Hell the original vault hunters didn't even know he was an inventor.

He gave them a completely unique gun, so that should be a clue to his profession
Besides, he came back as a zombie, so it's all good.

If it's the same as every other Forza game, then yes, it's generic shapes. People make some real works of art with them.

Think about that for a second. In borderlands one, who didn't?

B-b-b-but he was named after his gun!
Funny thing about T.K.'s Wave

It's Dahl.
2 opinions:
1. Developers mistake - they just forgot to remove manufacturer name.
2. T.K. was working for\in good relations with Dahl.
B-b-b-but he was named after his gun!
That suggests his mother had a shotgun that she loved so much she named her son after it.
There was nothing special with manufacturers in Borderlands 1, except maybe some +10 bonuses here and there from the weapon's skin and grip so they probably didn't think much when they set T.K.'s Wave manufacturer to Dahl since every gun has to have a manufacturer set to it. Maybe they even manufactured some before the original vault hunters arrived, who knows?
Hyperion might not be the only gun schematic thieves in Pandora :v:

Well at the time I'm sure they didn't know they'd be giving a backstory to the gun. At the time there was nothing odd about it being Dahl.

Well, Dahl was one of the first companies on Pandora...maybe they provided the parts...use your imagination
or maybe it just doesnt matter because manufacturers didnt mean shit in bl1
I look back on BL's damage, and I often think to myself that they do fuck all damage compared to the guns from BL2. Elemental weapons were rare back then too, I think.
started on the pirate dlc after finishing up main campaign
oh god PLUSHIES
They literally broke the balance by adding MMO-like huge numbers into the game.
Just compare your BL1 lvl69 char and his gear to your BL2 lvl50 char and gear.
Less fun, more numbers.
in true vault hunter can any grenade you throw kill you or just certain mods?

Or in BL2, either. The TK's wave you get from Hyperion is actually a Jakobs.

Everything is bigger in Borderlands 2. Health, shields, damage
Everything

I think it's just the general progression of game series; make the numbers bigger.
Around level 25, there is a huge sudden increase in gun damage for some reason,
not as ridiculous at 35 to 50 is
I just don't like how everything you got in PT1 becomes useless instantly on PT2. I barley used the Impaler that I got from the final boss.
I find it takes too long to get a good weapon in PT2. Most of the time, it's more red arrows than green. The vault hunter relic only gives me better loot to sell, not use. Maybe it's just me as my friends always have way better gear. Although I did get a slew of rare pistols...at level 26 (woo....). Dropped uniques/rares are just too rare.
If, by chance, I do find a "better weapon", it has a worse reload time. It isn't a big deal on my Commando due to the reload speed boosts. But if my Mechromancer can't kill an enemy with all 4 weapons slots without reloading, she's dead because it takes ages to reload. I have to run out of the room and run back before she's reloaded.
What I really need is a stronger shield and for my turret to not die within seconds of deployment. Rather annoying.

pick up all that shit, sell it
and bam, you just got about 80 more turns on the slots

I got an orange after about $12m.

And thus the addiction grows. I dont know how many times i kept saying "okay this is the last pull" and then end up completely broke.
To solve the weapons becoming useless problem they should add some sort of machine where you deposit your weapon and its stats are raised according to your level. Of course it'd have to be accurate and well done but something like that would definitely help the problem.
