To solve the weapons becoming useless problem they should add some sort of machine where you deposit your weapon and its stats are raised according to your level. Of course it'd have to be accurate and well done but something like that would definitely help the problem.
Doesn't that defeat the point of the random gun generator?
If anyone is curious how the scaling works, here it is.

Crafting would also RUIN this game. Completely. I can't see it making it any fun to ever try and find a gun when it's all in making one then.

I also found the weirdest legendary shield today. it sucks but it's interesting. Post pics later.
They literally broke the balance by adding MMO-like huge numbers into the game.
Just compare your BL1 lvl69 char and his gear to your BL2 lvl50 char and gear.
Less fun, more numbers.
Bigger numbers allow for a bigger scale. Who gives a shit they got bigger and "MMO"-d(whatever that means) it doesn't change anything. It can still be totally balanced just fine with large numbers. I don't see the problem.

how does upping the numbers make it less fun
I love seeing 500s and 615s flying everywhere instead of 50s and 61s, feels much more rewarding.

Like someone suggested earlier make it so you have to destroy a weapon to get one (chosen part from it), and the part you obtain from that weapon can only be used to create the same type of weapon.
And then, to top it off, make it so that crafting must be performed by an NPC and that said crafting will deduct like 1/3 of your current money (and maybe make it so you need like 6000 dollars minimum to craft to prevent spam-crafting of weapons that only cost one or two dollars).
That way it takes you a long time to create the perfect gun, and you really have to debate over whether or not the cost is worth it.

I'll be honest, I have trouble arguing with that idea, but it doesn't sit well with me either. It could be a good addition to the game, and could add something to seriously beef up the gun based meta-game, but it could also ruin the feel of certain guns because you'll now just be thinking about what it can be broken down to, not what it is itself.

On the other hand it'd also be a good way to get rid of guns you can't bring yourself to ordinarily get rid of because they have one RIDICULOUSLY great trait (like a damage that's ridiculously high compared to all of the other guns you have), but a heap of other mediocre or even shitty traits.
I'm still on playthrough 1 of Borderlands 2 (exams at the moment), and I'm only on like level 27, so I'm just starting to see snipers and such that have a damage in the 400s, but last night I found one that had a damage of like 670. However most of its other traits are shit (reload speed, fire rate), and it's not even particularly exciting - it has no elemental effects. Did I pick it up? Yes (reluctantly). Would I love to be able to harvest it for its damage and apply it to a sniper that I'd like a lot more? Fuck yeah!
pick up all that shit, sell it

I never like "balancing" things out by making them cost a lot or take a long time to get. It doesn't really do anything besides suck the fun out of what you're trying to balance.

For me it kind of breaks the manufactures, it breaks the identity of some guns(So does some of the prevelance of mixed manufacturer weapons) but it also could cause crosses of functionality that at the least lore wise doesn't quite work.

If they implement this, once you get an awesome gun every other guns becomes useless, if they do this there should be a ridiculous fee that scales with your level to balance it out, even then it probably won't be too balanced.

It can. But it's not right now. At BL1 only a few legendaries can outnumber your shield+health.
There was almost no 1shots enemies, unless you bump into Craw or somebody 6 lvls above you.

You can still see 500s and 615s with high lvl guns.
But when you see them, you all about "Oh god, this gun is amazing!" and use it for the rest of a time until there is something better at all aspects.
In BL2 you see 500s and 615s and all you think is "Okay, thats a bit better" and after getting another 1-2 lvls "Goddamn, this gun is such a crap!".

Someone explained the difficulty multiplyer of PT1 and PT2. It's JUST a ratio/multiplier issue. Not a big number issue.
Or you're like me and you see 3.1 million and you go "holy fuck nuts"
You know which enemy really pisses me off? More than bugs or how retardedly difficult Hyperius is?
Rabids. Rabid Skags and Rabid Stalkers. The bastards have a lot of health, move fast, attack REAL fast and knock you back with every attack.

I play with my brother a lot.
The rabids only seem to attack me, and he doesn't understand why sometimes in areas with skags and varkids I go from being quiet and talking normally to STOP STOP IT GO AWAY VARKID LEAVE ME ALONE

Same here. I'm set up as Brawn Gunzerker (I'm the tank of the group) so it's to be expected but holy fuck they just completely prevent me from doing anything other than trying to facerape them asap.

Just so you know, every gun uses parts labelled as a different manufacturer, since every part does that.

I like how Jack isn't pissed off not by his GF's death, not because you cause hell to his troops, not because of the power core, not because of you surviving but because
you destroy statues of him.
Conclusion? When you attack a direct extension of his ego, it gets personal. Love it.
Seriously, he acts like you insulted his car or something.

Jack is systematically killing every vault hunter out there.
Ergo the Vault Hunters that are still alive have to either be really lucky or really good.

I've wasted at least 300K on those slot machines and never got an orange weapon :saddowns:
At least I get the Eridium jackpot sometimes, but never an orange. I really wish you could convert eridium to seraphs
I've wasted at least 300K on those slot machines and never got an orange weapon :saddowns:
Couple million here by now. 4x Eridium Jackpot and 3x Marcus, that's it.
Ahh, wasted all those thousands to get the Good Touch and it wasn't even as good as the Bad Touch.
Maybe it's because it was a fire weapon and the bad touch was corrosive.
I've wasted at least 300K on those slot machines and never got an orange weapon :saddowns:
300k? Pfft, try $2.1 Million. I never had a purple weapon from them, best I got is a blue weapons and the jackpot on Eridium stacks which I no longer need...
300k? Pfft, try $2.1 Million. I never had a purple weapon from them, best I got is a blue weapons and the jackpot on Eridium stacks which I no longer need...
I've had the Euridium jackpot twice, 4 purples and like a dozen blues by now.
I wasted $7,000,000 at one point when a friend hacked in 70 million into his game and gave me some
I got 2 purples, and 4 Eridium jackpots, at the point in the game when Eridium gets you sod all
It would be much faster to farm bosses than to rely on the slots.
Wasted less then 50k on the slots, got 3 orange weapons. Too bad all of them were low level and worse then what I had.
Whatever, slots are fun.
