So I load up, open a vendor and get greeted by a Derp Nukem as item of the day (lvl 43). Check a vendor an hour later, get a Legendary Soldier class mod (lvl 44). Iz good day.
Does the Hellfire do anything different than normal fire smgs?
I found one that is pretty much outmatched by my Moxxi's Good Touch.
I'm a little disappointed, I was expecting it to be better.

I got a corrosive CC in a weapon locker on my first playthrough

I wish challenges would appear on your hud when you track them (like tracking achievements in TF2 for instance) instead of just bumping them to the top of the list in the challenge menu.

The rest of the game is piss easy but the Circles of Slaughter always kick my ass. I'm awful at arena/survival stuff.

I don't think they drop. That's usually why people say wait until level 50 before you turn in quests with weapon/shield/grenade rewards so that they scale to 50.
So when making weapons, which part has what effect on weapons? I imagined Tediore parts would make a gun reload faster, but this doesn't seem to be true.

Each part has a different set of values which contribute to final weapon calculation. The brand names of parts are entirely irrelevant, they're basically the same as the differently numbered parts from the first game.

Relating to the Borderlands 2 intro goes with everything, I think this is a great match.

Nevermind, actually spotted where the Sanctuary Gold Chest is, blew 6 of 9 keys on it, got some pretty cool shit now. Including a Hyperion Sniper (Firing increases Acc), that has a 10 bullet mag and fire rate of 15, making up for a poor reload time, and a shield of 530 (Only level 14 at this point) that has a 40% chance of dropping a Booster when hit
Was anyone else surprised that there's no cosmetics that drop from chests? I found that kind of weird.
