The mission where you have to battle mad mike is stupidly fucking hard, one hit and I'm down from 200 shield and 325 hp to 10hp, fuck that
Not to mention I used a fucking golden chest key cheat to get 255 keys and got pink weapons and I'm still dieing like a fucking idiot

I don't see how. lol. I've never found anything hard on this game, from him to the Warrior, with 3 people or solo.

I've done the whole game solo, playing as Commando. Trying to battle Mad Mike at level 11, even though I don't have the best shield I lose 95% of my hp in one hit from him, it's insanely hard and I died 6 times and ended up turning the shit off

I've seen a few people claim that he hits incredibly hard to the point where he can one or two hit people but every time I've fought him he hits pretty average.
And is it just me, but is the overall game pretty hard soloing? But then I suppose the game wasn't really build to be played alone upon
Every time I've had to fight Mike (about 6 times now?) he has one shot or very nearly one shot me.

Some quests are harder, but overall I found it not too difficult.

I very rarely take side-quests, I always stick to the main ones so I suppose I'm suppost to be a few levels higher, I don't have a clue
Why would you skip side quests ? they're mostly really fun and give you some much needed experience.
Also, who's Mad mike again ?

The half boss thing in the bandit stronghold
I had no problem soloing the game as Gunzerker.

The one in the dam waterworks that shoots acid ?

Same, but as Axton. I might have died a few extra times but it's no biggie if you don't rush it.

Yep, there's your problem. Skipping side quests in Borderlands is generally a terrible idea.
In borderlands 1 you could have skipped every sidequest, because most guns are overpowered as shit, but in BL2 it's the opposite. You gotta do every sidequest plus a little extra grinding to be proper levels for the story missions.

The turret really fucking helps.
I love it.
it's a good thing sidequests are actually fun in bl2.

Mostly.
Fucking cult following line.

Cult Following is fun.
Fuuuuuuuuuuck Medical Mystery.

Plus extra grinding? I ended up like 5 levels above the story.
Interesting. I did every last sidequest and option thing and only ended up i think level 30 vs a level 32 warrior.
Most useful shield ever.
I know for sure it works with converge, probably for the other ones I would assume. Thoughtlock isn't that good anyway. If it made the enemy that's under the effects of it more powerful, as in does more damage and takes less damage, then maybe I'd consider using it. Right now it's just a distracting tool, which can be useful in a pinch.
How is that not useful?
Normal phaselock: keep one enemy out of the fight
Thoughtlock: that enemy that is out of the fight now shoots other enemies, converges all enemies in the area to him (so they get distracted and go after the one guy), and when combined with Sub-sequence and Helios, it'll go to the next target once he dies while constantly exploding and/or giving life orbs (if you went into that as well).
Assuming everything that works with normal phaslock works with thoughtlock.
You basically cause the entire area to become phaselocked if I read it right (since enemies will prefer going after other enemies shooting them over you shooting them I've noticed, unless you are really close), while also dealing tons of damage from the friendly fire and other phaselock augments.
I could be wrong though, I've not actually gotten it yet. It'll be especially useful for bosses (who cannot be phaselocked normally, but I think they can be thoughtlocked), and extremely useful for goliaths and making them totally avoid you while also bringing everyone to him to let him level up much faster (though if you get perks that hurt them as well, then that could be bad).
Most useful shield ever.
If you can get a Flame of the Firehawk of the same level, it's so much better. Totally worth waiting 'til PT2.5 for.
FUCKING HELL. still no fucking CC. what even is my life

I'm 99.9% sure that anything that could not be phaselocked, can't get thoughtlocked. Also sub-sequence is useless too because when it switches too another enemy, you will more often than not, have only a second or less left before it stops. It needs to recharge some of the meter when it's moves to another enemy for it to be worth using.

What assholes. Who do I have to beat up?
Eheh
So apparently there is an urban camo Dahl player skin, something that I have been wanting for Axton. Only you apparently have to complete the final level of the 'Crouching Tiger, hidden assault rifle' challenge which requires you to get 10,000 (or some other ridiculous amount I forget exactly) rifle kills while crouched. Fuck.
You know what fight Axtons is really good for? Dukinas mom. Because when your shields down, you can hide behind the (indestructible) elevator controls that bring you down to the mine while your turret blasts that giant freaking skag
So....CC is not the only good legendary shotgun right?

I was pointing out the other shield's recharge delay, but okay.

That's exactly what I did after I died 3 times to the bitch
