So just to set this straight, is ARMA III only 25$!? The Steam store page for the alpha says the normal edition is only 25 bucks, and includes Beta-acces and the Full-Game. Is this correct or am I misinterprating something?
They are doing something similar to what minecraft did. In that you can buy the full game early and gain access to the alpha and beta ( and full game of course) for cheaper.

ArmA 3 beats the Tomb Raider sells, fuck yea.
I'm on a AMD Radeon 7850, AMD Phenom II 550BE 3.1Ghz, 6 GB ram and it's running everything fine on high, getting roughly 30 FPS. Haven't tried any more intense multiplayer missions though, so we'll see. edit: oh display is 1280 x 1024
well fuck i get much lower fps on a better rig what kind of fuckery is this
oh my GOD UUUURRRGHHHHH HELICOPTER HANDLING how do i stop the freaking thing, it wants to be a plane or something makes hitting targets literally impossible are you fuckiGN KIDDING ME UURUGHRGHD
Yeah pretty annoying, all aircraft in the Alpha seems much heavier and harder to maneuver quickly in comparison to Arma 2. Apart from that the handling has stayed relatively the same.
well fuck i get much lower fps on a better rig what kind of fuckery is this
Bad card, bad drivers, could be anything.
Yeah pretty annoying, all aircraft in the Alpha seems much heavier and harder to maneuver quickly in comparison to Arma 2. Well good luck aiming because look down and here you go flying at 200 km/h again
Thank fuck my key just arrived. Downloading now.
Really weird, everyone with better specs than me are getting poor fps. im on HD5870, 4GB RAM and an i5 2.7ghz and i get ~30fps on very high.
That's surprising. I have the same, but with a 5850. Maybe I won't need to upgrade after all!
Dont know if its just coincidence but i sent a (polite!) email to support@bistudio.com and I've been sent my serial key!
Dont know if its just coincidence but i sent a (polite!) email to support@bistudio.com and I've been sent my serial key!
More than likely a coincidence - they seem to be going out to people now, so there's no point in emailing .
Helicopter flight is like a billion times better to me. Does scripting still work the same in ArmA 3? Still need a sandbox mission.
Well game is installed from Steam, click the icon, it loads into task manager, then immediately stops :/ no launch.
Yo we're playing multiplayer, filter for "facepunch", password is "face". We've already got like 10 people, the more the merrier.
I'll join as soon as its installed.
I'm getting great frames on an i5, 560Ti, 8gb ram, i didn't expect it to be this smooth. Pretty impressive so far
Does this game launch without steam running like arma2?
Did change my fov to 95 = instant better game. Do it in the config with the fovtop etc (you need to calculate degrees radians and shit)
Thank fuck my key just arrived. Downloading now.
Me too! But how do we know if we got into the credits? :o
I'm in love with night settings now

Wake up 2 hours after the countdown end, 400 new posts. I think only Mayan Apocalypse thread had this posting speed. Someone said you can buy it for 25$ from sprocket, is that true or they were mistaken?
Apparently setting off over 20 explosives makes the game crash. I want to make big booms. [editline]5th March 2013[/editline] Also, how do I customize my soldier man?
Also mimimimi optimization yeah whatever 35 fps on gtx fucking 580 Yes I fully understand alpha etc but people with lower specs are getting good fps what in the shit edit: on LOW
Before Classes: Store is down. After Classes: Store down again. SOMEONE OR SOMETHING DOESNT WANT ME TO GET THIS FUGGIN GAME (i want the supporter edition, before someone asks)
Also mimimimi optimization yeah whatever 35 fps on gtx fucking 580 Yes I fully understand alpha etc but people with lower specs are getting good fps what in the shit edit: on LOW
If it's anything like arms 2, graphical stuff on lower settings is handled with the CPU and not the GPU.
I'm assuming the Opfor Marksman using an M14 is a placeholder. Seems kind of weird.
So I just tried at helicopter-ing with a mouse expecting it to be horrible. Holy shit I felt like I had 2000 hours flight experience, it was ridiculously easy, though landing was a bit wobbly. And then I realised I had been playing the whole time with 18 fps and it felt 30+. I don't know what this game is doing but daaaaamn.
I got my Supporter Edition key in a mail now. I bought the game at the release hour, so it took a while, but I finally got it :)
So how is it? Just realized that it was a paid alpha instead of a free beta release toady, so I am sad. But alas, I'll still get it when it releases (assuming it isn't totally crap, which I don't think it will be). I loved ArmA2 but hated it at the same time for just how clunky it was. Still didn't stop me from spending 70+ hours playing it though, and I had some awesome times with it on multiplayer. Does Arma3 seem to play less clunky, and does it feel really tactile/authentic in its gunplay?
It's half off during alpha though!
Have faith in Bohemia Interactive. They are working hard it seems.
Oh god I totally forgot about this and I bought tomb raider with my precious money someone help
