So apparently the game runs way better on high. Who knew.
Having fun even on my shite computer with shite FPS. Like others have said, the controls are much smoother, and it's good to see the AI actually moving instead of scanning every leaf near them to see if an enemy's behind it. Also, holy shit, the AI react fast. As soon as I got into contact in the Infantry demo my squad mates had popped the enemy before I got a shot off.
$32 dollars is cheap mate, you must be confusing to 25 Euros, which is also 32.61 dollars.
Oh okay, someone said 25 dollars, probably meant euros. 32 ain't cheap man, I can buy a whole lotta food with that.
I can't kill the guys on the diving mission near the camp, they are invincible to my gun.
Make sure you switch to the other ammo type if you have it, I was playing a custom mission where divers are given two ammo types, dual purpose and some other thing I can't remember. Switch to the other one as Dual Purpose I am pretty sure is only meant for underwater to underwater battles. The other ammo is meant for land. The gun you get is still not that powerful, but it's good enough to kill someone with and then take their rifle.
Oh okay, someone said 25 dollars, probably meant euros. 32 ain't cheap man, I can buy a whole lotta food with that.
It's half the price of your usual 'AAA Cod-BLOCKBUSTER-fest standard edition'.
woops
Say it with me: Front Towards Enemy
I was expecting to stay home today and play nothing but ArmA 3 and stay up for launch and all that, but I found out on short notice that I'd be working instead, so I did. :v: Just got home and bought the game. Download faster please.
Say it with me: Front Towards Enemy
Looks like a satchel bomb rather than a claymore. Satchel bombs could demolish multiple buildings or a tank in one fell swoop in the original OFP, so i'm not surprised if it has that much range still in ARMA 3.
The store took me to a processing transaction page, which sat for 10 minutes, then said it failed due to some page error. Looked in my bank account, still charged me $91.99. I just want to play the game, but now I have to email the support and hope there's something that can be done :(

Look at it, it has the two claymore legs and a central horizontal rectangular body. The explosion is very small, he must have been caught by the shrapnel projecting forward.
I wish there were planes included (even if it was just something small like the L-39) I guess I'll reinstall A2 and add its content.
It was a satchel charge. I was testing to see how far it's range is and I was playing with the new ragdoll stuff.

That wouldn't appear if it wasn't a manually detonated charge.
i hope they add some momentum to the swimming. It seems like you can stop on a dime. But shit, it's still fun as hell being underwater.
So, I wonder are they going to be adding the rest of the vehicles/weapons with patches, or are they coming with the beta?
Oh okay, someone said 25 dollars, probably meant euros. 32 ain't cheap man, I can buy a whole lotta food with that.
Mah nig, buy it anyway and join the Fitness bros in becoming fat again by playing ArmA3 and never working out again, drop that deadlift down to a hundred.

What's the password for the current Facepunch server I see up? "Face" doesn't work.
Okay contrary to the image I posted I only have 2 copies to give. Tell me why you should and you might just get a copy c:
You should give "Legolas" a copy because tomorrow he has to make some sort of speech tomorrow for the military he is joining. He's also an awesome chap who deserves it. [editline]5th March 2013[/editline]
I've given away both copies of ArmA 3 Alpha. Enjoy :v: [editline]6th March 2013[/editline] shittiest page king ever :(
I'm late :v: [editline]5th March 2013[/editline]
I found that this only happens to me in multiplayer. In the editor and showcases I never go below 50fps. idk why
Me and PieClock just did some messing around in the editor, fps started off slow then I started getting 50-60fps, sometimes above! Lowest was 45 but that was rare, it was so smooth. I get problems in the scenarios or multiplayer, it's really annoying.
You can see the text "Touch off 1 bomb(s)". That wouldn't appear if it wasn't a manually detonated charge.
Claymores are manually detonated. They're not proximity mines like in most games. I haven't used them in game, so if they are proximity detonated in game then I apologize, but BIS made a huge mistake.
What's the password for the current Facepunch server I see up? "Face" doesn't work.
Its face without capital f, so that might matter
I doubt claymores have that range.
The shrapnel flies surprisingly far.
I doubt claymores have that range.

When the M18A1 is detonated, the explosion drives the matrix forward, out of the mine at a velocity of 1,200 m/s (3,937 ft/s), at the same time breaking it into individual fragments. The steel balls are projected in a 60° fan-shaped pattern that is 6.5 feet high and 50 m (55 yd) wide at a range of 50 m (55 yd). The force of the explosion deforms the relatively soft steel balls into a shape similar to a .22 rimfire projectile. These fragments are moderately effective up to a range of 100 m (110 yd), with a hit probability of around 10% on a prone man-sized 1.3-square-foot (0.12 m2) target. The fragments can travel up to 250 m (270 yd). The optimum effective range is 50 m (55 yd), at which the optimal balance is achieved between lethality and area coverage, with a hit probability of 30% on a man-sized target
heh shot the driver of a rescue boat as he was turning and the rescue boat just kept going in circles.
The shrapnel flies surprisingly far.
The shrap would likely only injure him at that range and if the shrapnel did kill him it would not send him head over heels. Hell, you can even see in the video that it is a satchel charge and not a claymore.
I already said I was using a satchel charge :v: There's no point in arguing about how I blew myself up. I even post a video where you can clearly see what it is.

damnit valve why maintenance now
I already said I was using a satchel charge :v: There's no point in arguing about how I blew myself up. I even post a video where you can clearly see what it is.
It wasn't obvious in the gif, it's moreso in the video where you can see the charge from the top down. I don't know why the satchel charge is on legs like a claymore, but whatever.
