Is this game worth sinking $50 into? Not a Die Hard 10 hours a day gamer or anything though

I would wait a few months.
I wonder how long this MMO has on it.

Some of the no livers can get to endgame in 35 hours.
Anything to do Endgame? Any PvP content, rankings, anything like that?
So I have the cash to pick this up, and I've been looking for a new MMO.
This one decent? I've never been a Star Trek fan though.
I been hearing bad reviews on this game, is it bad? I wanted to play this.

It's fun for the first week or so then it gets old fast.

pvp is a joke atm

most people that are saying its great are lifetimers in denial.
I wish they would provide some kind of warning before they take the server down.. I'd just got a bugged quest to work and then BAM server offline.
Does anybody have a guest pass? Really interested in this game could see myself playing it.
After playing for a few hours I must say, I think I may buy this game. Almost seems worth the $15 a month.
This game was truly a waste of my money.
All the idiot developers, who can't make a game without rushing it out for quick money, keep getting the Trek gaming license :(
I for one an enjoying the game. I don't play it for hours on end, I just play it when I'm relaxing with Voyager on in the background. It isn't great but it isn't flat out awful or anything (well some bits are). I would say that I'm not bored of it, but that's probably because I suck so bad that I've been playing 40 hours (according to Steam - I think it's closer to 60) and I'm still not a LC yet.:suicide:
I don't think it's the repetitiveness and bad pvp that's bringing it down, I think it's just lack of good missions. When 90% of them, from what I've seen anyway, are destroy/scan/collect X objects, it's bound to get repetitive. What also annoys me is that they said there's be diplomatic solutions where available, and the closest thing I've come across so far that's remotely like that is one where you have to answer questions about miners, which a five year old could have done without even reading what anyone had been saying. I doubt I can talk though seeing as how I'm not that far into the game yet though.

T4-5 pvp is terribly bad, if you managed to play t4-5 pvp in any beta stage fair enough but you can't really say that right now otherwise.
although I agree on the lack of good missions.

Star trek Bridge Commander was a pretty neat game.
And with a mod for Star Trek: Elite Force you can roleplay on a map that closely resembles the interior of a ship.
Edit: I still wish perpetual didn't sell the rights to Cryptic.

So true. Of the 5 people in my group of friends that play the game, only 1 of us absolutely loves the game. Guess what subscription he got.

Sadly that was almost a decade ago, I miss the times on Interplay.
To be fair, it isn't Cryptic's fault. They're still a good developer in my eyes. Thing is when CBS sold them the rights, they set a deadline for 2 years. That's a very small period of time to make an MMO in.
I thought Atari was giving them a 20 million bonus if they got it out in 2 years.

That was the Expansion Pack.
That was the Expansion Pack.
Hes talking about Multiplayer RPing, not the Voyager Interior. I used to RP in EF1.

Well I do mean EF2.
[editline]12:56PM[/editline]
And not the Voyager map. All the custom made ones with RPG-X.
I couldn't get into EF2 RPing, I just suck with EF1.
I've lost count of the number of hours I spent playing Elite Force I. It's by far the best Star Trek game made.
It's my one of my most played Xfire games. I can finish the SP in about 3 hours.
