Well I gave STO a try via Buddykey a friend gave me... It's not bad ... It kind of mixes EvE with the early days of skill progression from Star Wars Galaxies, both great games, (Although SWG was only great before they ruined it with CU and NGE) And I can only see it getting better as more is added, Although I don't know how much 'End-Game' content there is, if any, or if there are any competent enough people to handle Raids... I say that because in the Crystalline Entity fleet action, I sat there shouting at everyone to NOT shoot the crystal fragments, for it heals the entity, yet everyone just kept shooting them... Finally got a heavy cruiser the other day. As much as I love having four phaser banks firing at once, I sort of miss my old ship. It just seemed much better in some way.

I hit captain. My new ships. I only use the Defiant Class, the other 2 are just for show, plus I had some extra money to spend. Does anyone still play this? I didn't renew my subscription when it lapsed.

I've always been intrigued, but since it seems to be a "those who like it like it a lot, those who don't hate it" deal, I'm not going to go all out and pay for it.

Okay for everyone who is like "SWTOR IS GONNA BE BETTERZ" we don't even know what it's going to be like. Just because Bioware is making it does not making the best thing evar. STO is a very fun game in my opinion and I'm in no hurry to cancel my subscription.

I don't see an active thread for this, so I just went back in my posts to find the original thread I made back before the beta. The point is, I want to make a Facepunch fleet. This game did get boring for a bit, but the last couple of updates made it really good (not to mention the player-made missions). I've noticed a pretty large gain in popularity lately, which is only going to get larger because it's going to be free-to-play on January 17.

I remember this game. I didn't enjoy it much but it did have some of the best damn space combat I've ever played in an mmo (outside of EvE of course). I wish TOR managed to capture the space in STO. I might try it out when it goes F2P.

The problem with making a fleet is that five of us have to be in the same party at the same time to make it. I'll go ahead and update the (now goddamned ancient) OP to show current information about the events and prospective fleet.

STO is adding DX11 support soon, it just appeared on the Test Server [editline]22nd December 2011[/editline] I'll make some Before and after shots if there is a noticeable difference.
