Voice acting was superb this week, the mission felt pretty short though.
Better have a short episode that's good than a long one that's very boring.
But to have the best of the both would be great as well. :v:
Just played it
It was much better than last weeks
wait... are you guys saying this game's good?
yes. yes, we are.
well, that's good enough reason to download it for me!
I'll be trying this out over Spring break in a couple weeks. I tried it on this PC, but my laptop really can't handle it well enough for me to enjoy it.
I'm not sure if anyone here is interested in this, but I'd like to know: is the roleplay any good?
And, what is it that you guys enjoy about the game specifically? I liked the customization quite a bit. Combat was fun as well, but I need a bit more immersion.
Customizing ships and uniforms make this game for me.
Hate the music though, wayyy too repetitive.

Only seen roleplay in this game once, ever.
It was a Vulcan and a Borg engaging in interspecies mating rituals.
i died
I like the engine you get as a reward for the newest episode.
Mostly because its purple.
Also judging by the dialogue in this episode and the wording of the description of next weeks episode I think I guessed who we were after correctly
So I got Vice Admiral, saw Admiral Quinn and got promoted and everything... but I didn't get the retrofit token I'm supposed to get. Is there something else I'm supposed to do?

Are you gold?
Anyone know the easiest way to train a boff ability that only a boff candidate can train?
Are you gold?
Nope, didn't think I had to be. Well that blows, I have a star cruiser and deep space science vessel, I wanted the free multi-vector escort to complete the set.

You can't get a retrofit token, they do not exist.
Each Federation Captain earns 1 Free Ship token, which they may spend to commission one these ships when they reach Vice Admiral rank. Each Klingon Captain who obtain the rank of Lieutenant General will also receive 1 free ship token. These tokens function just like the free ship tokens that you have gained at lower ranks. Meaning you must visit Admiral Quinn (Fed) or Chancellor J'mpok (KLG) when prompted by your promotion mission.
They at least did exist.

STO is F2P now, no free paid ships

Yeah the tokens are gold only now.

there's options you know, and an Audio tab, so, you can, turn off the music...

Allow me to rephrase:
I like the music. I hate that there is so little of it that it is repeated over and over all the time. I wish there was more of it so we wouldn't have this problem.

This is an unavoidable problem, the longer you play a game, especially an mmo, the more repetative the music seems. In my experience the best music is simply unobtrusive and in the background so it is easily ignored.
Hit Captain, bought an Intrepid, loving every second of it.
how do i get one of those? and how does it compare to a galaxy?

When you are promoted to Captain, you receive a free ship requisition which you can use to buy an Intrepid.
The ship itself is a comparatively small design, about on par with the Olympic. A lot of Engineers like to use it as an alternative to their cruisers due to its added maneuverability, survivability and power. It lacks the equipment of the Galaxy or the firepower of a Defiant, but it's kinda made up for because you can target specific systems (Aux, Engine, Weapon, Shield) in combat.

So THAT'S what happened to the closed beta subsystem targeting. I loved that! That settles it, I'm getting an Intrepid retrofit for my Vice Admiral ship.
I hate the music in this because they used the same samples as they did in Champions Online and I've heard every song in there at least 5 million times, and it's not too different in STO, either

All it does is transfer any damage you deal directly into the opposing ship's power banks, with like a 5% chance at disabling it entirely. Viral Matrix or Boarding Party will give you better results.

The Vault was pretty fun.
Haha, found a Klingon course on this language learner, (Small one, about 30 words) currently taking it and its fun, but complicated :v:. This is the thread about the site I found it on. http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1165534 (just search Klingon on the site)

how much would it be if i already spent the free ship on the galaxy?

A lot of dilithium
It's funny when you say something in Klingon to your girlfriend to try and confuse her, even better when she responds in it better than you can :v:
Pretty cool though, we both grew up with Star Trek (our fathers were both into it, and we got exposed to it through that, to the point of, she knows way more than I do, it's hilarious)
