Although if they went through with this, they'd need to max out Boff ships to tier 1-4, cause you know how OP a team of 5 T5's would be, 1 of each Odyssey, a carrier, and a Dreadnaught, unstoppable.
Or even better, make cheapr Boff editions of ships, so if you get a T4, instead of costing months of grinding, you could get a tactical escort for your Boff for 15-20k Dilithium, but you can't fly them at all, and they can't use any Boff powers or class abilities.
Ooh, ooh, and what if you could have your BOffs use their special abilities, but from their ships? Having (in my case) three different ships use Beam Fire at Will or Cannon Scatter Volley at once, oho man.
I really wish you could upgrade old ships now, my dumb old Constitution wants to be dusted off and be relevant again.

Hello, haven't played this game for about 2 months now. Have i missed a lot of new content?
Not a ton but Season 6 comes out next month which is bringing a ton of new STF's, fleet actions and fleet starbases.
I tend to only play when the seasons come out

Okay, so sort of off-topic, but still. I for one find that the main issue with STO is that you and your friends can't work together as the crew of a single ship. If anybody else would like to play a game that works like that, with each player being a bridge officer, just check out the Artemis thread I made the other day. I just found this game two days ago, and me and my friends are all addicted. Oh, and it has Star Trek mods too.

why are they angry about gambling?
A lot of people on the forums have been complaining about lockboxes for months because they see it as gambling. Even though they don't have to do it and the rewards aren't even that good, they insist on throwing temper tantrums on the forums every chance they get.
Some idiots thought it would be great to write to their governments to tell them about this 'Gambling atrocity' to get STO banned. This dev said(In his opinion without any Cryptic or PW information behind him) that the worst case scenario would be to just stop hosting STO in that country as the drop in revenue from doing that would be tiny compared to their lockbox revenue. That then proceeded to create a shitstorm on the forums, fuelled on by Massively.com reporting on it as fact that Cryptic would do so.
This lockbox fiasco comes down solely to some guys who are desperate to get unique ships like the Galor or D'kora and will scream until they get it or no one else can.
I swear to god the only thing that ruins STO is all the cry baby dickheads on the STO forums moaning about "these are the things that are ruining STO"
Just reading the rest of that thread about the Dev's post pisses me off - not many developers give this much personal contact to their playerbase on a daily basis but when Cryptic does it - and quite openly without holding stuff back - these users just insult them and tell them how terrible their game is (Then go right back in to grind STF's...)
