decided to glance at the thread to see if there was life. and there was!
next time i post it'll be a link to a map i made for terraria. a museum that shall contain items i legitimatly obtained in game. all i need are 2 hallowed sets, and a few vanity items here and there, and it shall be complete.
My friends and I were bored last night so we decided to play Terraria: Jersey Shore Edition.

I don't really play much, but I was exploring and found this underground earlier:

Anybody know what it is?
It's a Demon Altar.
Hard to believe it's been 1 year since Terraria was released.
This reborn mod isn't going to do shit. It'll be like every other update
play for a day straight(because all you facepunchers are hard-core grinding all day at the computer slaves)
get everything, and complain that there wasn't enough content in the update.
Jesus tits, what the fuck more do you want in an update for Terraria to feel complete to you? We already have a solid beginning to the game, plenty of content to sate you until midgame, then hardmode (packed with even MORE content) to satisfy you at the endgame. Terraria is a sandbox game, you have at least 50 types of blocks to build with. If you can't make your own fun and creativity with 50 blocks and even more enemies to fight, what kind of crazy super game are you looking for?
It would've been nice if Redigit had implemented a proper modding api before losing interest in the game at least. Then he could lose interest as much as he wants, as long as others are interested in the game then it'll live. The way it is now it's a lot harder for mod developers from what I've been made to understand.

The game lacks endgame content just like TOR does.
Kill WoF, and WOOOOOW you get a few new bosses, a few new weapons and that's it.
That's the only problem I have with this game.

the way I see it everything after WoF is endgame content.
just like endgame in an MMO, you already have most stuff (good base, full health and mana), it's just a question of doing those really powerful bosses to get the absolute best gear.
I get the feeling people don't appreciate hardmode for how much content was actually added

Hard mode was actually a really awesome addition. The only thing missing from it in my opinion was a hard mode wall of flesh replacement since you needed to beat all hard mode bosses just to get hallowed gear in the first place.

I agree, endgame doesn't feel satisfying, I mean they could do it like minecraft and add a final boss and a "you won the game"-screen.

IMO the dumbest thing in Minecraft was the "you won the game" screen. How the fuck do you win a sandbox?
It's just some gimmick put in it to give some sort of indication on yup, you've done everything and Terraria isn't much of a game for building due to it being 2 dimensional. It's more a game of exploring and developing our character and world.
Fun to see people are still playing and discussing Terraria.
DrasarSalamn, I have to disagree with you. Terraria doesn't loose so much in the building-part because it being 2D.
I think it actually make it easier for the building. The builder can make the house as he wants, without having to go crazy with nanosized details to make the building the slightest interesting to look at.
Having npcs kind of forces you to build some stuff.
Also, I think having an end-boss only beatable with the best armor would fit terraria a LOT more than in minecraft.
Also #2, is it easy to mod terraria?
Also #2, is it easy to mod terraria?
From what I understand, no. Since it wasn't made with modding in mind and has no proper modding API it's a lot more difficult to develop mods for and in addition, I'd assume that like Minecraft mods will easily conflict with each other if you try to use multiple mods and break the game.
I liked hardmode but it just
didn't
last long enough for me
I liked hardmode but it just
try going through it solo as a magic user
That's what I did, with a melee helmet (because the magic one has almost no armor at all).
try going through it solo as a magic user
Making the game more boring to make it last longer isn't exactly the best way to keep interest.
Solo play in Terraria is very boring.

Multiplayer can suck too if you play with your inconsiderate friends who have two tier higher grade equipment than you and kill the bosses before you can even get a good luck at them :v:
that's why I'm waiting to catch my friend up to the same level of equipment that I have before we even try
I thought that the devs who made Dungeons of Dreadmer said they would develop Terraria or something?
Yeah, they wanted to, but Relogic disagreed.
That sucks a lot.
Guess we will have to rely on mods then.
This game never really got a proper modding engine either.

Try having the lowest level equipment cause you keep giving your mats to friends so they can get their next piece yet somehow being the only one not to die in boss fights despite being the only pure melee character in the group. :v:
Yeah, they wanted to, but Relogic disagreed.
Redigit wouldn't make more money off sales if he let Gas Lamp have it. It'd be great for Gas Lamp to continue it though, I think they'd do a great job.
Is demonite better than meteorite?
yes
meteorite armor has the same defense as silver armor I think
gives you increased mana damage though, and unlimited firing with the space gun
-snap-
