So, I went and solo'd the destroyer after a blood moon, and decided to make a video about it with tips and such. I'm probably going to do this sort of thing for each hardmode boss and once I'm good enough, try them all at once. FRAPS is godlike when it comes to recording at 60fps and rendering in 1080p with Vegas Pro.
That was a good tip video! I really hope you do more because that is really helpful for anybody that needs help.

If someone has the megashark, I doubt they really need a video to tell them how to beat the destroyer. The video is good though.
Spent half an hour making a long bridge to fight wall of flesh. Then when I started the fight I ran out of runway and died, lol.

I need to get that harp, it looks godly.
Crystal Storm is 3x better.
The harp is actually pretty good, the projectiles may be slow, but that is good because it causes massive damage as it penetrates the target which means it is good for worm enemies like the destroyer and wyverns.
The Destroyer is definitely the first Hardmode boss a player should take on. The key is to use Ironskin/Regen potions, Thorns and Night Owl are trivial, a minor advantage at best. Full Adamantite Armour with a Melee Helmet is advised. As far as weapons go, Mana/Melee is preferable, so you don't go wasting two stacks of bullets. A Phasesaber is by far the best first-time weapon for Destroyer, if not the only one you'll need.
Just killed the WoF on my second attempt, and the game has spawned the hallow and corruption right outside my house. I fear my below ground dwelling is no longer safe.

Also, since you just activated hard mode, you should get pixie dust from pixies in the hallow, crystals from the UG hallow (and get some souls while at it), cursed flames from the creatures in the UG corruption and most important and obvious, break demon altars to spawn the new ores. There things are useful to get early on because you'll need a lot of them later.
Personally I think something like a rocket and a map-screen would do interplanetary travel justice. In terms of the rocket, it should be constructed somehow, rather than crafted whole. Maybe have something like a "Construction Pad" material made of special blocks striped yellow-and-black, where you can place the pre-crafted pieces of a vehicle to build it. Needless to say, a space rocket would need a lot of components; the boosters would need many Flamethrowers and Buckets, fuel tanks filled with Slime Gel, reinforced Glass for windows, a BASTARD load of Iron or Cobalt for the hull, a fuckton's worth of Souls of Flight to make the rocket light enough to easily take off, and plenty of wires and stuff to get all the shiny buttons twinkling on the dashboard. Concerning other planets, defeating Cthulhu should unlock the Moon or Mars as the first world you could go to, maybe if he drops some kinda "star-map". Further-away planets would require more Gel to get to that nearer ones, though.
I like the idea but what would prevent people from using a grav potion or building a spaceavotor? Maybe a area where you can't breathe or can't pass. IP: 83.87.161.254 Port: 7777
Full molten armor, flamarang, molten bow (which is what I used)
There you go. You should have at LEAST one piece of adamantite armor before fighting him. It will help a lot. My bad, I thought he said Destroyer.
There you go. You should have at LEAST one piece of adamantite armor before fighting him. It will help a lot.
You can also do it with mithril.
There you go. You should have at LEAST one piece of adamantite armor before fighting him. It will help a lot.
He's talking about WoF... You need a flail it is much better than a bow. Blue Moon will work
what the hell my guide is gone, can't even get him to spawn, he isn't in the housing thingy either
what the hell my guide is gone, can't even get him to spawn, he isn't in the housing thingy either
Go traveling for a bit he should spawn soon
Anyone got a nice server up?
He's talking about WoF... You need a flail it is much better than a bow. Blue Moon will work
I used the Dark Lance for WoF, along with a molten bow and phoenix blaster.. Flails are too short ranged for him, they put you in the range of his eye lasers and hungries.
He's talking about WoF... You need a flail it is much better than a bow. Blue Moon will work
Sorry, I thought he said WoF. And a good thing to do if you have the cash is get a minishark with silver bullets. That's how I beat him. Also go in with a night's edge and kill all the hungry right at the start.
I like the idea but what would prevent people from using a grav potion or building a spaceavator? Maybe a area where you can't breathe or can't pass.
I wasn't necessarily intending going to the top of the screen being the way to reach other planets, I was intending it to be more like this; getting into the rocket opens something like a "travel map" with planets on them, and clicking on the planet will show the amount of gel required to get the rocket to the planet, whereafter you press the Launch button, it shows the rocket taking off, then it goes to a space-themed loading screen as it loads the alien world. Once the world finishes loading, you spawn beside the rocket in your spacesuit if the rocket landed in an environment where the air isn't right, and if you haven't already build your base on this planet then that's what you need to do, complete with airlocks and contained environments, so you can have a safe place where you don't need to worry about your suit's air, as well as relocating your launchpad and rocket into a secure zone below ground (make a wire-based rocket hatch above the launch pit that opens once you've cycled the air out, since air would probably be an important commodity on a world where the air isn't right) so that the native alien zombies and flying tentacles (10 Tentacle Wings crafted at a Yellow Altar in The Coloured Space yields a Royal Tentacle, which you use to summon the Hasturpus) don't try and break your ship. 'cause the game needs tentacles to compliment all the eldritch horrors in the world; not the naughty kind (they could never get away with that outside of Japan), but instead the kind that want to drag you into the ground and leech all the nutrients from your rotting corpse (they'd be a lot like trees only carnivorous).
The planet is called Terraria
I learned something today!
At least I'm participating in this thread because I did nothing in the last one. One other tip for wyverns: Demon Scythe is their weakness.
I've taken at least 40 trips to hell, killed a lot of demons and still haven't got a demon scythe. What the fuck. Oh cool, so I was in hell and I came across two mimics, I let them jump into lava and they both dropped two items I didn't have: Cross necklace and star cloak!

There's another demon altar but it's on the other side of the new corruption biome. I am going to have to move my house now, when I'm at the bottom of it I'm close enough to actually get corruption mobs spawning.
If you play on a softcore character, try dropping off your money and going to a already existing corruption biome, because demon altars don't spawn, they are made upon generating a world.
I haven't gotten a single diamond in the entirety of my time playing Terraria ever
