Yeah. Let's jump into the massive pit as a hardcore character.
I just discovered a pretty amazing combo to fight bosses, and [b]I appologize if it is late and nothing new[/b].
Things you need: [b]Cross Necklace[/b] (Which is dropped by Mimics)
Recommended Items:
[b]Cobalt Shield[/b] (Removes knockback which can make you vulnerable.
[b]Ring of Regeneration[/b] (Counters the health damaged by hellstone bricks, read below why.)
[b]The Trick[/b]: What it basically does is allows you to avoid likely 90% of incoming damage, as it creates only a 0.1 second window of vulnerability of which you can recive damage.
[b]What Happends[/b] is the Cross Necklace increases the time you are invulnerable by atleast twice as long, this combined with hellstone bricks makes you almost invincible (It makes you invincible in PVP, I tested it) I havent tested with a Cobalt Shield yet, but my guess is the removed Knock-Back makes you take even less damage, as you wont leave the hellstone bricks.
[b]Please Note[/b] that this trick is not fool proof, you will take damage durning boss fights, but not even close to as much you would without it.
[b]TL;DR[/b]
Make a floor of hellstone bricks, use Cross Necklace while standing on it and it makes you (almost) invincible. Good combo for fighting bosses.

I have a Legendary Nights Edge, Spectre Boots, Cloud in a Balloon, And all of my Accessories have Defence Buffs, and Shadow Armor, but i still cant defeat the Wall of Flesh.
The Bad part is i've defeated him before with Necro Armor with worse Accessories with worse weapons D;
Who thought it was a great idea to place pearlstone beside my underground city thing on biotic's server? I had to dig out an entire small biome because, apparently, as shows, the hallow is [B]spreading[/B] and that in a large [B]contaminated area[/B] as the 3 block wide blockades probably shows.

I'm no expert at this game but why on earth would you use a sword against him??
I usually use melee but for WoF I switched to necro armour and a phoenix blaster with meteor shot - even with far worse accessories than you he was a piece of cake. :v:

Towards the beginning I'd hang a bit close so I could swipe at the tentacle things, but yeah, other than that ranged is the way to go. I faced him with molten armor, though, so it really wasn't a challenge anyway, the only time I died was because I underestimated the amount of lava I should cover, and fell into a pool.

Hopefully that wouldn't be necessary, last time I checked the grass was still green. Through, I hope to add some more barriers tomorrow just to be sure that if there is a spread, it wouldn't cover the spawn, I know there are players on the server who are new to hardmode and I guess they don't want to start their experience by being run over by unicorns.

I've always used a sunfury. A blue moon would likely still be plenty actually. He's actually really simple as long as you're not using low level swords or mining equipment against him.
Before hardmode I just used blue moon and kicked his ass
The Dark Lance is also a good option, since spears hit him multiple times in a row. WoF is easy as long as you make a good sized and fairly straight bridge to face him on. Water walking and obsidian skin potions are also an option, but I don't like to rely on potions and making a bridge allows you to do more running and less jumping.
I used the obisidian skin potions and water walking, then just pelted him with my minishark and thorn chakram then just spammed my dark lance on him.
Needless to say without an actual path I got stuck sometimes, but I managed to beat him.
You don't need the obsidian skin potions, the lava will not hurt you if you are just using water walking potions.

Huh. The most valuable thing I dropped on accident on a server was a Laser Rifle I had reforged to Mythical. I can never get used to the chat not being located on "T" :v:
