• Are you going to buy Portal 2 for PC, PS3 or Both?

We already had a thread on this, I thought. But I'll probably be getting both. Just because I like seeing how stuff runs on different platforms. It really all depends on whether or not the PS3 version is developed in-house by Valve or by EA again, though. I own Orange Box on both 360 and PS3 (found the PS3 version in the bargain bin only recently, so I figured 'why not'), and while the 360 Orange Box was great (developed in-house by Valve), the PS3 version was riddled with stuttering and long load times (ported by EA). Why not include a poll option for Xbox 360, too? PS3 may end up being the better console version this time, but not everyone owns a PS3 or a PC that can bring the graphical quality higher than the console version.
ps3 so i can play co-op with my chess club buddies
If you get it on PS3 you can get it on PC through steam cloud (and vice versa). Just like Macs. So, both.
They're not bringing Steam to PS3, Portal 2 is just going to have Steamworks features. No cross-platform play and no "buy one version and own it on everything". All you get is Steam messaging/friends list, saved progress syncing, automatic updates, and possibly Achievements/Trophies syncing.
As much as I want to only get PC, I want to play with my friend, who has no console. I hope they include splitscreen. If not then I'll only get PC. If they do, I'll be forced to get both
if they do splitscreen i will actually be enthusiastic for this game
PC I don't have a PS3, and even if I did I don't see what the point of owning it on both would be. I have the first Portal on PC anyways, and it's very much a PC game, I tried it on my friends Xbox and it just wasn't the same.
if they do splitscreen i will actually be enthusiastic for this game
Confirmed in the IGN interview with Erik Wolpaw.
Xbox360
PS3 I don't like that little uncomftorable chair I use for the computer.
LOL Same for me But I'm getting it for PS3 Because of Split-Screen, I Got Brothers!
Why ask on a PC dominated forum? It mostly gonna be PC votes, go ask on a PS3 forum and see what happens...
Where the shit's the 360 option? PC stands for Personal Computer. Unless your Mac-run computer is owned by a company, it's still a PC :v:
oh haha so clever, go back to 4chan. EVERYONE knows when someone says PC they mean a Windows computer. If you don't well then delete system32 and all will be well. (don't actually do that) as to prevent me from getting banned. Sure it's not proper, but it's common knowledge.
Facepunch hates the 360...
:irony: [editline]09:49PM[/editline]
They're not bringing Steam to PS3, Portal 2 is just going to have Steamworks features. No word on 360 or macs. [editline]09:51PM[/editline] Both, for sure. While I'll buy it and play through it on my PC, I much prefer to play games on my PS3. Playing my games with a controller and television screen (or in my case overhead projector) gives the game a much more cinematic feel to it that envelopes me in the game better. Plus my PC is upstairs and my PS3 is downstairs and it's summer.
there's no 360 version?
PC all the way.
PC because of console access, speedy turning and fast movement all together.
Source?
Steam Cloud enables you to transfer your games and saved files to other macs and PCs. Its just like signing into your account on another computer. If PS3 is getting steam cloud, that means you can do the same with that. All you would have to do is link your steam account and sign in on your PC. Portal 2 will be in your games list. Just like signing in on another PC
PS3s are for rich kids who are in chess club
5/10 I don't play chess
PC. Can't aim fast enough with a dualshock.
It depends how well my Laptop will be able to run it. If i can only run it on medium then i'll go for the PS3 version.
Most console games are dulled down graphically. Take GTA IV for example, the 360 and PS3 version of GTA IV is like Low / Medium on PC. :/ But, back on topic, PC.

I'm not buying portal 2. If valves idea of a suprise is announcing it's coming to PS3, despite being 3 years overdue with EP3, then I shall not support such notions.
I tried playing portal with a controller and it's nearly impossible.
Or you just fail at it. I finished portal with a controller, as did my friend. Anyways. I'll be buying it for PC.
