I'm not sure if someone mentioned this, rate me late if they did already, but shadows are bugged as hell and the primary cause of lag in this game. They're likely to be optimized and fixed up later so for anyone running this game at like 10-15 FPS like I was, turn off shadows completely. My FPS sky rocketed to around 40-80 while running on pretty high other settings.

I bought it today. Gotta say. I hate the setting and overall I'm not impressed. Really hope the full game is better. I like the new technical aspects. The different stances, the graphics and so on. But it lacks the thing that made ArmA 2 so appealing.

ArmA 2 was appealing because of the setting? I didn't know people liked the gray depressing landscape of Chernarus or the incredibly bland and off-white setting of Takistan. Atleast there's color man.

I think the setting seems nice in my opinion, we haven't seen the main island which is probably even better.

Not the island. I mean the "near future" setting. Nothing makes sense and I literally have to reeducate myself into learning things that don't exist.
For example. It's not a TAR-21.
It's a TAG-20 or some bullshit. Not only that but it's chambered in a bullshit round called 6.5mm instead of 5.56 NATO.
I think he means setting as in time with the futuristic and unfamiliar vehicles and guns.

Again, the setting as in the 'time' not the place. Island is pretty. It's the dumb stuff like the fact that the rifles have new made-up names (Like Call of Duty does), are 6.5mm and fire caseless ammunition. Like the R09 or whatever they call that pistol has a Glock image in your inventory (I assume it's a place holder, that's no big deal) but it's really a Walther P99 or something of that nature.
Yeah, because caseless ammunition works. We know that from experience..
