ArmA has a lore now. Almost a grown man.
:tear:
There was a lore since Operation Flashpoint.

Does anyone know how to adjust the range of your scope? It says to use the Page Up and Down keys but they don't work for me.

Which scope? The ARCO and RCO both have the elevations shown inside the reticule (those are the numbers next to the lines, for 600 meters for example fire with the 6 marker)
Does anyone think we actually need thread numbers now? V1, V2 etc. With 125 pages it didn't make much sense but now, now things have changed. :v:
Been playing around with the settings. I had to make some compromises to make it playable. Hopefully this helps.
GTX570 (2048x1152)
4GB RAM
i5 2500k
Using the Infantry showcase as an informal benchmark:
On "Auto-detect" Settings I get around 30 -40 fps which is barely playable for me
Things that I have found to have a large impact on framerate:
1. View Distance - Reducing this to around 2200 Helped a lot
2. Object Distance - Reduced this to about 900, but I'm not sure if it really makes a difference
3. Shadows - Disabled
4. Terrain - Reducing this to Low gave me a huge increase, but you will no longer see grass.
(Went from ~50 to ~80 fps in the Infantry showcase in the forest, went down to ~65 in the battle)
Things that didn't make a noticeable effect:
1. Textures - From Standard to Ultra, I didn't see any framerate difference
2. Clouds - Same as above
3. FXAA/SMAA - No apparent framerate difference on any settings (At least for me)
4. Dynamic Lights - Same as above
HDR also seems to make the game look better
Also, how do you use the editor? I'm pretty unfamiliar with ARMA games. What would I need to do to make a scenario where I can just explore and look at all the weapons

Yeah, lets add numbers with the witty title.

Mountain bikes work as well, with animations.
Help a noob? Whenever I join a 404 wasteland server Arma crashes. Do I need to download something before joining a wasteland server?
How do you guys use the Crate filler?

Me and my friend tried as well. Both Arma 3 and wasteland is unstable right now. We'll have to wait til both become a little more stable.
Made my first (good) mission, submitted it to Armaholic. Should be up soon if all goes according to plan!
Could you provide us with a link of your mission when it becomes available?
Ah crashed again
made a mission called "CORNER THE DORNER" with my friend a few hours back, had great results
basically, one player is selected as opfor aka Chris Dorner aka Chocolate Rambo in the water near the airport on an ammo-less speedboat. He has to reach "Mexico" (the city near the airport) and the church in order to win, but 2 players of LAPD and National Security have to track him down in a heli and kill him before he reaches outside of their jursidiction
oh, and there is a patrol blockading the main road to "Mexico", and a small fireteam inside of the city itself. dorner's truck awaits him at the church, hehuehue
ArmA games tend to have older guns available, so I am sure you can grab an M16A4 or AK74M in the retail version out of the box.
I am interested in a modern day mod and Operation Flashpoint remake mod (CWR3? :D) still however.
The CWR2 team stated that they did not intend on making it for ArmA 3.
If I buy the alpha, is it standalone from the real game when it's released?
Also, to the people who have it, hows movement and vehicle physics?

Both of them. But it doesn't matter now. I find it more challenging to snipe enemies using the distance marks.
It's a lot of fun just trying to snipe enemies from 1km away.

Fuck

If you mean by that if you buy Alpha it's only just the Alpha, no, you get the beta and full game.
Also I got bored:

All the mods I hope are made for ARMA 3:
ACE 3
ACRE
I44
that is all
Fucking about with different outfit and weapon combinations is just too satisfying

Anyone here use DAC? I'm getting the way points generated but units wont spawn. I have the propper A3 classnames.
I fucking hate the Helicopter controls, I have been trying to Helicopter Showcase for the past day and I fucking keep crashing, and the Helicopter goes slow with Auto-Hover off and it keeps going back and fourth and I try to make it go faster. Is there some way I can get the Helicopter Controls from ARMA 2 and move it to ARMA 3?

Wait they are diffrent, well, I am going to have to learn the new way to fly, like I learn the hard way that gear is I and not G (Sorry whoever I killed)
They didn't seem bad to me, though I haven't played the showcase yet and was basically thrown into a helicopter in an mp match and just flew around.
I found flying pretty easy to pick up, not much changed from arma 2.
It just feels different, took like 3 minutes to get used to it.
After FP finished playing JerryK's custom mission we went ahead and played the official arma3 coop mission for 10 dudes.
Hint: It's pretty fun.

And I was the only casualty.
That ending was tense, hiding around the chopper trying not to get shot. I had bullets landing right at my feet. I was terrified I was gonna die at the very end.
I think it is safe to say that Iranian soldiers grow on trees
