I think it is safe to say that Iranian soldiers grow on trees
You mean bug men.
Is there any Event tonight? Also can someone give me tips for the Helicopter? Since I really want to complete the Showcase mission and I finished all other three.
does anyone get serious lag when doing the chopper scenario?
I can't believe that my Q6700 and GTX 260 can run ArmA 3 at lowest settings at 30 FPS.
I managed to waste half of the 40mm ammo trying to zero in on everything. Thankfully the Airbase was a pretty quick sweep.
Also: where's the FP server?
I noticed I'm great at flying the chopper, I can take off and fly about fast as shit Stopping however is a completely different thing, I don't know how to slow down without completely flipping the thing :v:
Down for the night I believe.
Also: where's the FP server?
I think there's a permanent one going on but the one I posted pics from was one I put up for JerryK's mission (posted a few pages back) [editline]7th March 2013[/editline]
I noticed I'm great at flying the chopper, I can take off and fly about fast as shit Stopping however is a completely different thing, I don't know how to slow down without completely flipping the thing :v:
Basically auto-hover and only touch shit when you need to turn or go forward (preferrably not at the same time) If it ever looks bad, slap on auto hover and hold "up"
I can't keep up with this thread because it's moving way too fast. [editline]7th March 2013[/editline] Also why the fuck am I banned from the Teamspeak?
I fucking hate the Helicopter controls, I have been trying to Helicopter Showcase for the past day and I fucking keep crashing, and the Helicopter goes slow with Auto-Hover off and it keeps going back and fourth and I try to make it go faster. Is there some way I can get the Helicopter Controls from ARMA 2 and move it to ARMA 3?
there is nothing wrong with the helicopter controls other than that you cant yaw enough at speed
Just got ARMA 3 Alpha. I have no fucking idea what to do. I think that's a good thing...
Basically auto-hover and only touch shit when you need to turn or go forward (preferrably not at the same time) If it ever looks bad, slap on auto hover and hold "up"
ew please no, auto-hover is a very good way to crash your helicopter at low altitudes and should probably only be used when you're just waiting for something or holding steady for your gunner to fire at stuff (and there's no gunners in the helis in A3 yet) Easiest way to bleed speed is holding collective/throttle down and pitching up (raising nose) at the same time. Start by holding throttle down, pull up the nose as needed to keep your altitude. Keep your eyes to the horizon. It's an easy way to bleed speed but it also takes quite a while, so you should start slowing down at least 500m, preferably around 1km from the landing zone. Keep speeds below 80kph when nearing an LZ to keep your tailrotor functional to assist you in rotating to a correct orientation.
there is nothing wrong with the helicopter controls other than that you cant yaw enough at speed
If the rudders aren't hydraulic it actually makes sense since you would have to press a rudder pedal down against the force of air hitting the rudder.
there is nothing wrong with the helicopter controls other than that you cant yaw enough at speed
You turn by rolling and pitching when flying at high speed. This happens in real life too, your tailrotor's effect on the torque caused by air to your helicopter diminishes when you go faster. It's also useful to know when someone shoots your tailrotor off (ATRQ, Anti-torque on the components lightboard) since you can actually bring yourself to a landing if you go fast enough since you stop spinning.
Urmm... Not really sure if I'm playing Arma 3 properly...
How would I go about making an alarm go off when the player is spotted in the editor. Been trying most of the thing suggested for Arma 2 but none of it seems to work.
My experience with Arma 3 Alpha. My got got stuck twitching all over the place. After I stopped recording, I went to find my ai team mates and they were doing the same thing
It looks like the video settings don't save for me when I play MP. Terrain detail on Low gets rid of all the grass in sp but it's all there in mp. Might be why it's so laggy.
Apparently playing on a dedicated server improves FPS :/.

Well, I bought Arma: Cold War Assault since it was cheap to get and I had only 3 dollars on my Steam Wallet. Now to revive those good times. Just a question: This version has something different from the original Operation Flashpoint version? Other than the name of course.
holy shit this is pretty cool http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=18836 [t]http://www.armaholic.com/datas/users/ru_soldier_ak107_4.jpg[/t]

I am glad he put the Russian on independant, it sucks how the game has units stuck on blufor and opfor teams. I always wanted to have US and RU forces fighting along side one another in arma 2.
wait since the Russians are on independant, wouldn't that mean you could wear BLUFOR and OPFOR uniforms? gonna try this shit out now
