I wonder when we will see footage of the E3 preview?
I wonder when we will see footage of the E3 preview?
There already is.. ?
I know about the preview of the preview, but that was a taster of what they were going to show at E3. I was wondering if there was a complete video of the stuff they are showing at E3?
Here's a recording from their booth. ehh i'd rather just wait for on screen gameplay
Quite a few more videos up on Youtube now. Still no direct screen capture yet. Best one I found so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pHvShDHGlw
I love the new inventory screen. I also want that public alpha build! Give it to me!
The game looks amazing, can't wait!
alpha not until august? :(
A bit more footage:
"Take on Helicopters" flight model implementation has been confirmed. We now have to fly helicopters just they way you do it in real life. Source Time to buy Take on Helicopters then. Also, have a look at TOH / ARMA III's cloud tech.

Now maybe I'll actually be able to fly helos in multiplayer servers. I doubt that most players will dedicate the time to learning how to start these things.
If only i had the money for this game. I'd totally sport the DayZ mod.
I think it would be nice if they added things to make the Mission Editor a bit easier to use for some of the cooler things. Making it easier to force helicopters to land, place weapons on buildings, and other cool stuff like a fast roping script that's already build in so all you do is set a "fast rope" waypoint, then type in the height the helicopter stops at then initiates the animations for it. I feel like that would make the mission editor much more intuitive to people who don't want to, or just can't get a hang of some of the more advanced features in the Arma scripting system. I really like missions with fast roping, but sometimes it's a real pain in the ass to add things like that. Also, has anyone heard anything about the integration of artillery? It would be nice to be able to place some friendly artillery pieces on the map, then just have some radio call up that lets you call artillery strikes, then adjust the first with your cursor or your map. I feel like those would be some pretty nice additions. [editline]7th June 2012[/editline]
If only i had the money for this game.
If you have any artillary peice in your group you can order it to fire on location.
True, but it would be nice to have a more accurate way of doing it, i guess without the scripting. I was hoping they could find a nice medium between point and click, and forward observer simulator 2012. I love the flexibility ARMA offers through the mission editor, but some things can be painfully hard to put in a mission without a lot of learning, or a lot of add ons. It would be nice to be able to just drop a M109 or something on the far corner of your map, assign it a call sign, then be able to call that and request support from them, and determine the type of rounds used, how many shots, things like that. I guess i'm creeping into simulator type stuff myself. I just remember making a mission where i wanted artillery, and after getting the scripts, and figuring it out, and getting it in the mission, it wasn't perfect, but it was cool. I just remember thinking it would have been even better had it taken 2 minutes instead of 2 hours.
There is actually a editor module in ARMA 2 that does just that, although it's not quite as simple to setup. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Artillery_Module The documentation however is pretty good and it should be relatively easy to use even for people that aren't familiar with sqf.
You can use the supports module and just link it to your player unit, then you can call all sorts of air support and ammo or unit drops.
Is there going to be an open beta?
Is there going to be an open beta?
They said there going to do a community alpha, no details released about who will get in or not. Then I think I remember them saying that sometime after the alpha they would open it up to alot more people. But at the moment there have been some delays due to them upgrading from Physx 2 to Physx 3.
delayed to like august because of implementation to physx3
Am I going to be able to run this with: AMD Phenom X4 955 3.2ghz (OC to 4.0ghz) AMD Radeon HD 7850 2gb (Crossfire) 4x 4Gb DDR3 1600mhz RAM
of course not
I forgot to mention maxed out.
is there going to be dayz for this else id not be interested
is there going to be dayz for this else id not be interested
I believe they said they were looking at it and possibly bringing it as an DLC some time after release. But I don't think an official announcement has been made. If they do I hope they let us spawn zombies in the editor so its possible to set up our own scenarios and such.
is there going to be dayz for this else id not be interested
Are you seriously only going to buy this game just for DayZ? At least try out the milsim part to the game too, it's as fun if not more fun than some different gamemode that comes with the game.
is there going to be dayz for this else id not be interested
i hope rocket port Dayz to arma 3 and close arma 2 dayz servers down so people like you have to buy arma 3 THEN make Dayz a standalone game so you have to pay for THAT!
Damnit. Saw this on page 2 and thought "Awesome! More news!"... Nope, just Dayz question.

Fucking with the editor is one of the most fun things to do in ArmA.
Quite frankly, all this shit about DayZ bugs the hell out of me. People buying the new game simply for DayZ? Bullshit. It's a fucking mod. I really don't think they should be treated as if they were full time devs.
