So can anyone tell me if my laptop will be set on fire?
SPECS AS FOLLOWS:
Intel i7 2630QM 2.0 GHz
And HD 6770m 1 GB
8 GB RAM
Recommended: 7750
I have 6870, I still have a feeling it will run like shit.

Are system requirements final or subject to change?
I wonder how my 2 6970s will handle it.
I'm going to purchase it even if I run it like crap on my current computer:

Arma 2 ran pretty decent on my computer.

B-Ball mod confirmed 2013
How do you even play b-ball on that terrain?

The pics still have a tiny bit of the fuzziness that was present in Arma 2, but overall it looks terrific.
It looks like it has that "Battlefield 3" tone to it..
You guys think my laptop can handle this game?
(Dual graphics card)
AMD A8-3500M APU with Radeon HD graphics, 1.50 GHz
6gb RAM

Nothing looks tinted blue to me.
I hope this game doesn't lag so much online. Could never find a server under 200 ping in arma 2.
Oh man, such a nice change from blue.
I know most people won't reciprocate this feeling, but I really like the futuristic weaponry and vehicles in this game.

i'm pretty sure everyone decent agrees with you
No, you won't be able to play it; I don't think.

In terms of theoretical benchmarks the 6870 (which i own too btw) is a lot better. Of course real performance will differ, but I would not be too bothered.
Of course the power drain of the 6870 is a lot higher because of the older manufacturing process. 40 nm vs. 28 nm

I love the lighting. Sexy as fuck.
Well apparently the auto-detection system is a lot better, and there is a lot more room to tailor the video settings to what you think is a good trade or balance.
I just hope they will optimize it some more, I mean I am not expected to run this game on all high or anything, but I am hoping to run it at least a bit better than arma 2.

Ye, it's not like the tanks are firing laser beams, a rail gun still fires a shell it's just propelled by magnetic force. Which I'm sure is doable now just not feasible. So I don't get why people are opposed to some slightly advanced tech.
I'm really hoping my rig (i7 920, 12 gigs of ram, and i think a 280 (I'm going to get a 7970 though, this runs too hot)) can run the alpha decently.

Because all the people who play ArmA are 50 year old accountants?
I, for one, love the concept of throwing current and planned tech in
the people in the arma community opposing are just sticklers for realism, nothing wrong with that
definitely wager that someone will make an addon which cuts the available tech down to current day standards, and if ACE is picked up again I'm sure there will be an option within that

Not sure what that had to do with my post but ok.
Do you guys think that you will be able to tweak some "settings.ini" file and enable super-low settings? I did that with Planetside 2, and I need to know if you can do it in Arma 2/3.
Oculus Rift isn't going to have the desired resolution. You'll be severely handicapped.
Not yet anyway. We'll see what the consumer version actually is like.
And with the eyes on screen head turning thing? Its never a problem because it's not 1:1 movement.
Surely because of the 3D effect, ARMA will be rendered twice for each eye? Thus killing your computer. I have two 7950s but I am still cautious about this.

You could always try having 30fps for each eye, so 60fps is pretty doable for at least 720p if we're talking about devkits
I will stay with my TrackIR.
oculus people say you need 60fps locked at all times (no drops at all) or it'll give you motion sickness
yep
I get motion sickness under 60FPS anyway.
