oculus people say you need 60fps locked at all times (no drops at all) or it'll give you motion sickness yep
A bit of motion blur and it's all fixed. :v:
Oh my god that looks fucking beautiful. That lighting is elegant. I want. Now.
Looking at the ARMA III buy page, are there really only eight vehicles in the game? Are they really detailed, or are there plans to add more, or have they decided to take a step more towards infantry over vehicular combat?

also 40+ weapons in the full game, im expecting some old m4s and ak107s in that case
I wouldn't see anything wrong with some old M4's and ak107's if they updated the visuals on them a little bit.
There are 8 in the Alpha and 20+ in the full game.
also they're supposed to be really detailed now with functional interiors and screens and stuff.
20+ Vehicles doesn't strike me as very much.
if that even includes civilian cars
20+ Vehicles doesn't strike me as very much.
they are going quality over quantity this time
20+ Vehicles doesn't strike me as very much.
I've been in online Coop matches with 64 people, and ShackTack does PvP with more than that, and you'd never see that many vehicles. In my Coop matches we'd have an LAV Maybe, a couple Abrams, Venom, Cobra and Humvees that the 40 infantry guys would be in, or we'd ride Venoms in in multiple trips. 20 Vehicles is plenty, Battlefield 3 has 30 vehicles, and that's only after including the game and 5 expansions As long as each side gets Ground/Air transports. Armor, LAV, And an attack helicopter, it'll be fine. I'm sure with there being 5 factions that the same vehicle or two will probably be re-used as a different variant. And a few vehicles are going to have different variants anyway, like a .50 or Mk19 HMMWV
20+ Vehicles doesn't strike me as very much.
Maybe it doesn't include variations like Humvee w/ Machine gun Humvee w/ Grenade Launcher Humvee w/ No Weapons Humvee w/ Medical Supplies
they are going quality over quantity this time
They have around 20 vehicles to span across helicopters, cars, tanks, boats, jets, planes (hopefully), drones (UAV's 'n' shit(hopefully)) and submarines, including the fact that its best for different factions to have their own vehicles. It's not going to really help the variety, and that fucks up the quality in my eyes.
Hopefully we'll have mods that add more. I'm a bit worried about the vehicle count too, to be honest. Vehicles are my favorite thing about ARMA. [editline]3rd March 2013[/editline] Perhaps people will port the ones from A2/A2 OA.
lol so you'd rather have a horde of buggy, inaccurate, interiorless vehicles like arma II?
You missed my point completely.
So can anyone tell me if my laptop will be set on fire? SPECS AS FOLLOWS: Intel i7 2630QM 2.0 GHz And HD 6770m 1 GB 8 GB RAM
So it will be set on fire?
I have a feeling y'all are being a bit pessimistic about 20+ vehicles A. Even if there are only a few ARMA is one of the most moddable games out there so... B. Could be lotsa vehicles You just don't know.
So it will be set on fire?
I'm sure that'll run it fairly well. Going off of what they themselves said about being able to play it if you could play Arma 2. I was playing Arma 2 just fine with a worse setup. As long as that's a proper 6770 and not one of those shitty Mobile Integrated types
20+ Vehicles doesn't strike me as very much.
Would you like some aftermarket parts as well? Kidding. I think it's fine if they are well made and detailed. You can't expect them to add more vehicles than triple AAA racing games have. They are focusing on Infantry first. They said it themselves, that's the main scope of Arma series. Community can fill out the vehicle content gap if BIS has a nice set of vehicle templates to make new ones from.

OFP and then Arma 1 and 2 have generally been a 'jack of all aspects'. The Mechanics for everything wasn't great, but they were able to include everything. This time they've focused on specific mechanics to polish and flesh out, for the first time ever in the series I still don't like the timeline and concept for most of the vehicles, but I know ACE will be ported over well before Arma 3 goes live

So that leaves us with couple of submarines, probably 4 tanks, 4 helicopters, 6 humvees/APCs, couple of boats, and a couple more spots left. Seems decent for a start? This is Arma, not World in Conflict. I'd rather have 20 decent ones by BIS and 40 meh ones by community than 50 by BIS and 20 by community.
Which is a good thing. I think the timeline is pretty good. It's refreshing. Cold war and especially WW2 is getting stale already and modern times aren't exciting as well. Something futuristic but not PEW PEW yet is a good mix. You can't use the "ITS THE FUTURE" excuse for unrealistic stuff and you don't need to invent/design new stuff. I mean really, how can you not like this adorable vehicle. [thumb]http://www.arma3.com/images/post_images/arma3_alpha_screenshot_01.jpg[/thumb]
Give me a drivable aircraft carrier and I'll shut my mouth.

if they did that I would jizz so hard it would alter the earths orbit around the sun.
everyone said the same thing about red orchestra 2
Which part? Quality over quantity and let the modders fill up the gap?
there's a video in which they're flying a jet around so they're in the game. dunno if they're in alpha.

"Couple of submarines"? They've got one tiny one for scuba dudes and that's all. The giant submarine we've seen in some vids is jus a prop.
