Just saw Kane on Great Balls Of Fire, haha that's great.
I've tried to enjoy this game, but I just can't. These were my initial reactions back when I played the game at release last week, and I was hoping that my opinion would change, but I just can't do it. The most fun I had was at the Vixen Club, which at least for a little while, it felt like I was playing a Hitman game. I was able to sneak into the club wearing a disguise, was able to explore the area without a billion guards spotting me at once, and actually plan and execute a hit. It was FUN for that moment in time; but soon after I was forced back to the boring, stealth game that Absolution tries to be. I want to keep playing just to get to the fun parts of the game, but the rest of game just makes me so frustrated I can't stand it for more then short bursts at a time. I don't want to stop you guys from having fun, and I wouldn't even call Absolution a bad game, but it's not something I find myself interested in playing, and is one of my biggest disappointment of the year so far. edit:
I think the disguise system would be more alright if it took longer for guards to notice you. Like, if you're standing still near them for too long, they see you doing something suspicious, or the crew you're disguising of is very small so it makes sense that they all know eachother. However when every fucking cop in the whole city, and every goddamn vendor in the market, and every goddamn hired guard all know eachother in person and can tell if someone is an impostor after looking at them for 5 seconds... that's just fucking bullshit.
This too.
Oh this fucking game sometimes. Having a piss fucking hard time going through Attack of the S... part 1. Well, found a slightly easier way, where I have to kill a few people but better than trying over and over and over and over and ... x50+ times. WELL GUESS WHAT, now the game decided to throw in a bug (again)! Apparently it can either a) See the body in the fucking container b) See the two bodies through three fucking concrete walls/floor on the second floor.

That scene is better when you don't have sunglasses on. I love how 47's eyes occasionally glance at him.
Goddammit, Blackwater Park. I can't even get in without being seen.
Been playing in Contracts mode. Pretty fun, got the high score on one by mere milliseconds after countless tries. Just stuck it to my friend (who had the high score previously)
Anyone else notice that they're consistantly scoring higher than the global or country average? I mean I'm pretty good at the game but I thought people would put up more of a challenge. Sometimes it's by silly amounts too. One mission (I can't remember which) the world average was 25,000 and the country average was 27,000, I scored over 40,000 easily and could have done better. Are people just really bad at this game?
Hitman seems a bit dim sometimes for a master of stealth. Kills a guy with a gasmask on covering his face, uses his disguise, leaves gasmask...

Besides the other guys weren't using smoke or tear gas or anything.
Gotta say there's a feeling of freedom that I miss in this game that was very prevelant in Blood Money. I hope next time they take that game's direction a little more and lose the linearity route they went for the casuals. Like, the best way to describe it is this. In Absolution, you have maybe a few linear corridor type areas you manage to get through in (usually) one of 3 ways. Sneaking (with the conveniently placed vents and obstacles etc), guns blazing Rambo, or silently picking them off (and some sub categories with in that). After, you enter the big, centralized hub for the level, which is sort of the "playground" in which you figure out how to dispose of enemies. Then leave through the "designated" linear exit. But even then, this part of the levels also feels limited. Once you know all little quirks, it just feels a little....I dunno, not as fun. You're truly limited by what was programmed into the level. Blood Money was set up so that basically each level was a playground from the very start, with an endless array of ways for you to eliminate enemies and your target. I remember how mind boggling the sheer amount of options were for every level and the ways in which you could pull something off seemed truly only limited by your imagination. This was helped in part by the fact you could bring weapons with you from pre-mission briefing and equipment setup areas as well. I still really like the game, I just hope this creative team goes back into Blood Money territory more after this game. For me, it was the highest point in the series thus far and probably one of the best games I've ever played (with some of the fondest memories I've had playing a game too).
I dunno dude, I haven't played Blood Money, but I feel like ideally you want a good balance between some linearity and openness. Too much of either can be a bad thing, it still needs to be somewhat directed. At least, that's what I find the most fun. Figuring out the specifics of a situation and then tackling it with one of a few choices. I like that. If it were as open as you say blood money is I might just have a panic attack and have no idea what to choose and be kind of perfectionist about it trying to find THE perfect and best way. That'd kill me with so many options.
This is how the purist mode disguise works: [t]http://i.imgur.com/j3tAi.jpg[/t]

Felt like it was about that time on normal as well, Maybe with an extra second.
Felt like it was about that time on normal as well, Maybe with an extra second.
Thought it would be a lot easier on normal.
*cough* cover entire face and in theory make him impossible to detect *cough*
But sweaty face air.
Go ask IO to remake classic Hitman maps for Absolution in Contracts mode. I sent them an e-mail about it but haven't had a response. It will definitely be more of a viable consideration if many people ask them about it. Get friends to ask about it, too. ioi@ioi.dk I think 'A New Life' in Glacier 2 would be a great transition.

Snipe the man from the garage, snap his neck when he's in his room, casually walk in and gun down anyone in your way, leave him for last and shoot him through the closet door...Kill the old lady working in her garden just for shits and giggles... I must have poisoned the donuts for those two security guards 100 times. And you know rigging the BBQ grill to set his wife on fire is one of your most memorable gaming moments
Wow, talk about stealth. Attack of the S.... Part 2. If you crouch behind the counter and attack (Q) someone, you will not get spotted. :v:

Strange.. It appears the guards have a 120 degree vision, but only if you point a gun at them.

I really hope there's a patch to fix the masks in the [sp]Orphanage[/sp] because they do in fact hide your face completely, and yet the other people can supposedly see right through it.
There's also the chipmunk disguise.
I haven't found that yet. no idea what level its on :v:
