The disguise system is terrible.
You will realise this when your post-release hype dies down.
The game would be way too easy if you could just put on a disguise and walk through the entire level unharmed.
That levels fun and easy.
try it on purist then come and tell the same... :v: fucking supervision soldiers seeing through tightass crops 20feet far away

Well it is for the best of assassins only, my problem with purist that you have to remember ever second counts so you have to move fast, no "hmmm let me carefully move from this cover to the next" nope, fast reactions and you have it, like on Terminus if you know the perfect route you can go through that fast in a few minutes on purist like nothing.

False.
I actually had several standing like less than a meter, looking at me, but they still didn't see me.
Just don't move AT ALL when they face you and they're close to you (less than 2 meters).
That trainer linked above is pretty interesting. I thought the default values were a bit too easy. I tweaked it a bit, could probably use more tweaking. Put these in script.var and press F9 in game. You can edit it with Notepad.
AI_InstinctRevealTime=35.0
ai_DisguiseDetectionDistanceMultiplier=0.55
There's some commands for view distance, FOV, disabling the HUD (if you want that on a lower difficulty than purist) as well in cvarlist.txt. I tried fiddling with the view distance one but couldn't see any difference.
you guys realize you can "aim" while not having a weapon equipped so you can fake out guards pretty easy in crowds.
normally you're not able to strafe or walk backwards. i figured this out in the bar level. i had like three guards looking at the position i would enter the main room in from the guard room. eventually i realized i could just hold down aim and walk backwards towards them and they don't notice you.
generally speaking this little exploit can help you maneuver with ease among guards especially in crowds without feeling like a complete cheating whore... looking for the bathroom (for highest difficulties, i'm not sure about anything below expert at this point, mainly because i bet the easiest mode is super fun to play and fuck around in so i'm saving it for later along with contracts mode)
tl;dr: if you're having a hard time with the new disguise system holding down the sharp aim button allows you to strafe and walk backwards to easily walk past guards in many cases.

Scarecrow disguise still manage to make them forget about you at 2 inches away?
Anyone else do the shooting challenge with the ultramax? it almost felt like cheating
Found out on the penthouse mission, if you rush to the door as fast as you can(running) you'll be lucky enough to alert one of Layla's three guards. And he'll walk over to investigate and you can subdue him for his disguise. Makes walking around really easy once you pull it off, and if you're daring enough there's a place to hide his body right around the corner to the left when you leave the door. Purist run btw.
Speaking of which, I noticed Layla is naked in that icon so I thought there was some 47 seducing happening but I had no idea how to trigger that. I know she goes to the panic room so I hid in there before she walks in (the pervert that I am) and waited. But nothing really happened. Before that though I walked in after her and she was in just her lingerie and insta killed me out of nowhere. Am I missing something or was that it?
I actually picked up a baseball bat, went to the balcony near sushi room, garroted guard who stands there, when she came up, I threw a baseball bat, luring 1st masked guard, stangled him, took his disguise, threw him out, then threw the bat again, luring the other masked guard, garroted and threw him out as well, and repeated with the last one.
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!
You just go to her safehouse while she's in it.
What's strange, is that if you're wearing normal guard's diguise, masked guys won't be troubled with you entering a private secret room dedicated to client only.

There is some sexy time, I'm not sure how to trigger it, as I stumbled upon it on complete accident, but I went [sp]to the panic room after she was in there, may have been alone I forget[/sp], but yeah it definitely triggered and took me off guard since I [sp]poisoned her sushi, but she didn't eat it.[/sp]
Did people play the first hitman? Codename 47?
Its one of those games that defined my early gaming years.
The graphics were over the top when it was released.
It also had an amazing theme song.
I only played Hitman 2 and Blood money.

And absolution when I'm done with it

I'd like to but it runs at warp speed.

not surprising that a totally ripped ruggedly handsome bald dude gets all the babes
Anyone else do the shooting challenge with the ultramax? it almost felt like cheating
I did it like twelve times with different guns, then just did it with the automag you start with, was more accurate to me.
Guys, I need some questions answered. I've been on an 11 day military exercise in the Finnish forest, so I've missed a lot of stuff lately.
so basically, is this hitman as fun and challenging as blood money? Is there many gameplay hours in this? I.e replayability. The 55€ price tag is the biggest reason why I want to be sure its a good hitman game before I buy it.

I personally don't see it as a Hitman game. It's heavy on the story and many mission's are broken up in to parts, where you are forced to go a certain way. It's not like the free roaming of bloody money. I've done about 90% of the game. It's still a very good game, but don't go into it with the mind set its as same as the other hitman games,

It's basically Open assassination > Intermission level > Intermission level > open assassination; repeat.
As for playability, could easily get 40-50 hours out of it if you do contracts, more if you happen to like the game a lot
I have like 30h on blood money, I loved the hell out of that game. Does this game keep the same dark tone?
And is the weapon choice in maps as free as before, I.e can you complete a level with poison syringe only?
And is the weapon customization larger than BM?

Game is very dark, but also keeps a lot of the humour, imagine quentin tarantino movie meets hitman.
Weapon choice in the campaign is limited to items you've found, a basic pistol and firbe wire, and whatever you can find throughout the level, contracts allows you to buy/unlock weapons, a metric fuckton of customization and player improvements and use them (or whatever the contract maker wants).
MSAA seems to be rather resource-heavy on this game. With settings on Ultra and MSAA at 4x, my fps never drops below 100. With MSAA at 8x, my fps never rises above 30. :v:

Global illumination takes my FPS way down for some reason, from like 80 on highest down to 40ish.
I don't even know what it really does
You'll notice it when cops are using flashlights. Without it on, it's just a thick circle of light which is why I thought flashlights looked bad in the console gameplay that IO showed. With it on, it has a nice illumination effect around it. I believe it also does something similar with light reflecting off white surfaces but I'm not sure.

the effect doesn't look too good, it's like there's just an added, out of place light source in the corner in the second pic.

I think off actually looks a lot better
Yeah, that vase looks ugly with it on.
I was replaying the missions again to get some more points and when I got to The Vixen Club part I realized that there was a darker other story going on other than 47's. I focused more on the chatter and what was going on along with some extra exploring here and there and it revealed some really messed up shit. Didn't notice it before since I just run and gunned my first play through. But damn it was like something straight out of some horror movie.
[sp]it was kind of unsettling when you stumbled upon "hawaii" and found the dead chick up above[/sp]
[sp]it was kind of unsettling when you stumbled upon "hawaii" and found the dead chick up above[/sp]
(Spoilers for: Hunter and Hunted)
[sp]It is even more sickening to hear that the 'girls' are actually threatened to do dirty shit for Dom, and get 'hawaii'ed if they don't. It doesn't help that it is hidden behind his office. Creepy shit.[/sp]
Wait you mean [sp]You can actually find out who the killer is? I always thought it would be that prick in the Hotel 47 is at when he gets attacked by the Saints[/sp]
