Colors look a bit sharper, but like, eh. How much is the performance affect?
(Spoilers for: Hunter and Hunted)
[sp]It is even more sickening to hear that the 'girls' are actually threatened to do dirty shit for Dom, and get 'hawaii'ed if they don't. It doesn't help that it is hidden behind his office. Creepy shit.[/sp]
Yeah I'm happy I [sp]ventilated his skull with a .38 round.[/sp]

Garroted him in the toilet and left his body in a rather suggestive pose in the closet.

The result was certainly interesting, to say the least.
Steam is downloading something for Hitman.
This patches provides the following improvements:
- Players using the Russian language will no longer crash as soon as they use the sniper rifle.
- Various issues that have been seen on specific configurations that caused the game to not be able to start up at all have been addressed.
- Problems with the Sniper Challenge Unlocks not carrying over into Hitman: Absolution have been addressed. On first starting the patched game you will receive your unlocks.
o Note that North American users that have been provided the Sniper Challenge by Gamestop will need a separate unlock key in addition to this. Gamestop can provide these.
- Problems with negative level-scores have been fixed. Newly accomplished positive scores will be needed to erase your incorrectly remembered negative scores.
- A problem with keyboard and mouse controls where users would accidentally melee attack a person next to them when they intended to throw an item has been addressed.
- Legal and Intro movies can now be skipped immediately on startup after the game, on all launches but the very first on a machine.
- DirectX 10 hardware can now enable the simplest version of the Depth Of Field effect.
- Problems with audio occasionally being muted after ALT-TAB have been fixed.
- Various localization fixes.
- Miscellaneous other stability and general improvements based on crashes we have seen coming in.
Note that the above is really just our first set of fixes. We are continuing to monitor things and expect to provide further patches in the future.
Holy shit, the mission later on in the game [sp]outgunned and the few after that[/sp] are fucking awful, they feel like shitty cover shooters and the whole premise of [sp]the whole town being assaulted to get 47[/sp] felt really silly and out of place compared to everything else.
Also, end game spoilers
[sp]Did anybody else think that the whole Diana being alive thing could have been handled better? I get that what you saw in the cinematic is what the ICA assumed happened, but I feel it would have been better if they just showed 47 firing and have the death off screen, but heavily imply it, it'd feel like less of a cop out[/sp]
Also
[sp]Why did 47 bother faking her death and then going after everyone, what was the purpose of killing them all? Wouldn't it have been safer for the girl if she ran away with Diana and hid while 47 killed all those people instead of getting her involved?[/sp]

Finally. Especially the second one. Sneaking, sneaking, time to distract! And then I smash a glass bottle into a civilian...

Yup, I did that too. D:
I feel really bad for IO interactive, they're getting completely scalded by players and reviewers for not making a game close enough to Blood money, which would be a fair complaint if they actually bothered to review the game instead of just saying "NOT BLOOD MONEY FUCK YOU IOI, FUCKING SHIT GAME FUCKING RETARDS" < Actual comment I saw.
Guarantee if they just made Blood money 2.0, they'd get scalded for being "Too similar to the original" or something equally as shit; it's like they're doomed no matter what they do.
Make something new, while still having elements be true to the original = "Shit casual garbage, wrestling scene is only way to get silent assassin"
I dunno, maybe I'm crazy but I enjoyed the game as much as I enjoyed blood money, and I'm glad they tried something new instead of just remaking blood money
[editline]30th November 2012[/editline]
I see absolution as a Reboot, the same way Christopher Nolan's batman movies are a reboot, I think IoI even said that it'd be far different from blood money, thousands of times
[sp]Sorry, just venting because Metacritic comments make me angry[/sp]
Wait if people wanted Blood Money, why don't they play Blood Money?
Because if a company releases the same game repeatedly, I think that causes a few complaints.
How come 47 can throw a knife hard enough to go through somebodies skull, but can't throw a brick hard enough to knock out a guard?
They get a brick thrown at their heads and they only seemed mildly annoyed.
I don't think the general complain is that they didn't remake Blood Money, rather than that they didn't make the game similar enough to the gameplay of Blood Money. At least that's my view on it. I liked absolution, but I do wish there were more large open levels with targets you can take out in different ways and less linear stealth missions with no assassinations.
MSAA seems to be rather resource-heavy on this game. With settings on Ultra and MSAA at 4x, my fps never drops below 100. With MSAA at 8x, my fps never rises above 30. :v:
Yeeeeah, I was wondering about this. I literally just installed a GTX 670 yesterday, maxed out Absolution... looking forward to some nice 60 frames.
Well, you know how that went. lol But when I disabled the thing you said, it just instantly shoots up to 50-140. Max Payne 3 seems to have the same exact issue, but not as much.

Imagine my feelings for IO interactive as a K&L player. :L

The only thing I don't like is the instincts mode. Everything else is great but instincts ruins Purity difficulty for me.

The entire disguise system needs a bit of reworking on harder difficulties imo
The disguise system is a good idea and in theory it could work very well, but it does need some definite tweaking.

Agreed i really don't have much fun on the non-assassination missions.
Is it me or does it seem a little rushed that they're already making another game? I mean we had a six year gap between Blood Money and Absolution.
If I bought a retail copy, would I be able to activate the CD-key on Steam?
Anyone else getting stuck at 95% when updating this game on Steam?

if they're making a new game most likely they're going to take the criticisms of absolution and try their best to fix them.
in fact absolution was most likely an experiment, and hitman 6 is going to be the final product so to speak.

Square Enix Montreal has been working on Hitman 6.

I thought you needed Steam to play on the PC?
also the game seems to get insanely easier when you're in a level that's open worlded and it's a hit mission.
seriously, i've been struggling with practically every level except the ones that are completely open.
for a point of reference, every mission that isn't a normal hit mission i have to attempt to beat in a number of times that normally goes past the double digit point. but on missions like the streets of hope or china town it only took me less than 6 tries at most to complete those missions.
also these hit missions in absolution are much more fun than the hit missions in blood money imo.
the things they really fucked up on were only allowing one weapon for contracts mode and not being able to select weapons before a mission even if you've beaten it. everything else wrong with the game is a minor inconvenience or doesn't matter because of contracts mode.
I thought you needed Steam to play on the PC?
Can anyone else confirm this?
Because if this is true, it'd be perfect.
the one thing i think we all can hope for is if they decide to release content updates. perhaps even release improvements to contracts mode overall.
a wet dream would be them releasing a patch that allowed you to select weapons before a mission you've beaten and allow more than one weapon to be given for contracts.
Hey, I made contract, I think it's a little simple but it should be fun figuring out how to kill these guys silently with your hands without being spotted. I also made some shitty donut puns.

I am too ATM. Not sure why... guess I won't be playing this for a bit then. lol

I got the retail version and it used Steam so yeah.

Huh, it just randomly fixed itself while I went and ate dinner, finished downloading. Weird.
