I didn't know this, and I'm probably late, but if you scan the bar code on the main menu's "Absolution" screen the result is an Adult Anit-Bacterial Sex Toy bag. [editline]1st January 2013[/editline]
I wish it didn't, but I have to say that this game really sucks.
Is this game better/more optimized for a controller? I have it on PC, hence the question.
Is this game better/more optimized for a controller? I have it on PC, hence the question.
Played it through with a controller myself so yeah, works good.
It works pretty well for mouse and keyboard IMO. Also, on the mission after Hope, [sp]why do they give you the fibre wire if you can't use it? That is strange.[/sp]
Spoiler about the end of part II: [sp]As you walk from the church, Hope burning in the background, Ave Maria plays. This seems like a reference to the final mission of Blood Money, where he kills the entire chapel. Do you think he had to massacre the church, now that they had seen him kill a man? It would fit the Hitman story, the whole thing about him being totally unknown, and it would be a very nice and subtle hint at what he had done. It would be no fun playing a mission where you have to slaughter civilians, and it would have sparked an outrage if they had shown him do it. So I think it's a really nice little touch. [/sp] What do you guys think?
What I am more confused about is [sp] how during Skurky's death cutscene, how the entire church seems to be totally empty. Even the dead body in the casket is suddenly gone. It is like everyone just left, or is that a subtile hint to the earlier games, like after killing Ort-Meyer and Mr 17, how everything around them is just a white void?[/sp]

has anyone considered that it was just poor game design?
[sp]We can easily blame it on poor design. I, too, noticed the body disappearing from the coffin, but truth is we don't see the rest of the church. What's more funny is that we usually kill our targets pretty hard but they still manage to tell us the info we need. For example to take down Skurky you need to shoot him in the head. Or I fiber wired Dexter and he still could say few words afterwards.[/sp]

If there was still a crowd left in the church, they would at least make some noise during the interrogation, and when 47 calmly walks out after Skurky's death.[/sp]
[sp]We can easily blame it on poor design. Wade can also mutter a few words and stand up after he has been shot in the face or took a stream of hot steam to the face in the Rosewood Central Heating.[/sp]
Thanks big fat ass (I feel a bit bad calling you that), now I can replay levels with casual outfit.
That level, where you start in the elevator shaft, so many nuns murdered, disguised thugs all over the place. I climb out from the elevator shaft, and on wards to silently killing EVERYONE so I can secure the little girl's safety. But then, when there were 3 NPC's left (out of like 20 dead), I messed up, got spotted and... Restart level because I didn't want to get Spotted, not even once. And again. And again, and again, and again. Restart, get halfway through the level, get spotted, restart, again and again.. Good game.

I fucking love this game. (Absolution, to be precise) Booted up the tutorial contract, snuck past everyone, except the guy that goes down the path, garroted him, moved to the cover, instantly killed the target, and ended up in a massive shootout. I knew about the objectives, yes, but that was much more fun.

Is this game more linear/straightforward than the past games? I have the other Hitman games, just never got very far in any of them. Should I play them before absolution? I'm trying to go through Blood Money right now, and if you've played it you know they put you in the middle of a big map and besides the map icons you don't get many hints. Is absolution similar to that or does it basically hold your hand?

I stress attempt, They aged poorly. Absolution might have a more set path for the sneaking around missions but when it comes to putting dudes six feet under you have to think it up yourself.

Blood Money seems to be a little too vague in some areas. For example the theater level. I had already read about the prop/real pistol online, but how in the world would I have known about it otherwise? Not just that, even when I do the swap, the actor never shoots it. It just seems bugged. Had to just do the level guns blazing.

Not sure if you can disable it but it often gives you hints that only retard wouldn't understand. I just want to say that Absolution still has few ultimate disguises. Those that fool everyone. They aren't in every mission but the disguise system isn't all bad. I actually got used to it, some levels would be too easy if you needed just one disguise.
i think i like this a lot more over blood money simply because the AI and shooting aspect of the game has really improved. you can pull a hatchet man run (my favorite kind, basically killing indiscriminately while remaining completely undetected yourself. hide bodies if you want, i don't care for it myself) much easier in this game but you still can't go gung ho. no matter what route you take there's going to be some thinking and tactics involved. i say this game proves structure to a hitman game is good, just only to a certain point. and with absolution they definitely passed that point but the game itself is still good. it's good to the point where it makes all the other hitman games look like shit to the point where i couldn't replay them and have any fun, but at the same time it does a little to much wrong. there are shitloads of levels that are open and spacious. the only problem with them is that they're mostly transitory levels, only good for making real missions in contracts mode. [editline]3rd January 2013[/editline] hopefully the next game will be a nice blend of bloodmoney's level structure and pretty much every thing they included in absolution.
I guess this isn't news but to get Silent Assassin ranking in Absolution you only have to kill your targets and remain unseen. Hiding bodies or not doesn't matter as far as I know.
I finished Blood Money and started Absolution. I'll probably get a lot of flak for saying this, but so far I'm liking Absolution better. I have a few questions though. What are you supposed to do when people keep noticing your disguise? Even on normal instinct runs out pretty quickly, can't imagine doing this on higher difficulties. And are all the weapons I got from dlc and such only for contracts mode? Do the techniques apply to all singleplayer missions and contracts once you unlock them?

In Absolution try to use your disguise as a second measure, because very few disguises give you a free pass to the entire level unlike Blood Money. Use the new cover system to hide over hiding in plain sight. And yeah, the DLC weapons are only available in contracts mode. Not sure about how techniques work though.
And yeah, the DLC weapons are only available in contracts mode.
I think the DLC weapons are also scattered in some levels, atleast in the epilogue level iirc the DLC shotgun is in the small chapel right next to where you start.

as i've said before a good way to sneak around in a crowd with a disguise on is to hold down the "aim" button and navigate around with your back to anyone with your disguise. while in aim mode without a weapon out you can strafe and move backwards without turning.
It's awesome on how you can so different things to finish the level. I hated how I went to do that slow motion action killing with Lenny and his goons, when all I had to do is go to the vents and shoot Lenny, headshot style. I'm up to the shooting range level, but I hate doing the shooting mini game, which I properly don't need to do, it's quite hard to do and need to do it more quickly. Damn, I get an error occurred while updating. I might get a network card for this then. 50 bucks for it at ebgames.
I'm glad I picked #5 up, it's been a blast even on normal.. Anyone have any tips for dealing with Lenny's gang? I can't help but bumble around in broom-closets while they keep escaping me through dozens of patrolling people.

-SNIP I'M LATE-
I might of done some update thing from my pc by updating by flash drive. I don't want to sign in just to play the game, even so it's just to update it. Seemed to work on my sister's PS3 though. Still working on getting that PSN card at ebgames. Or do I need some network cord for the PS3? I supposed to sign up for the playstation network, needs lan cable, but not sure seeing as I'm connected to another computer for internet.
