Hitman series Megathread - "Names are for friends, so i don't need one"

It'd be cool if you could pick up bullet casings. I mean if you're firing so many shots that it'd be a chore then being subtle isn't exactly on your agenda anyway. Even if it didn't do anthing, just a neat feature to screw with the after mission news paper.
That wouldn't be fun at all.

Dunno, it kinda feels wrong if I take my target out with one precise sniper shot from far away and the only evidence left is a single casing.
47 probably uses weapons that lack the "fingerprinting" part of them, like the barrel's rifling. He probably got custom made ones (see: Blood Money, you can buy a carbon-fiber barrel for the W2000).
rendezvous in rotterdam's gotta be the most annoying mission in contracts
There is no point in collecting bullet casings if there is no identifying mark on them. You can't really tell much from one other than the caliber.

Even if you took the casing with you, the actual bullet in the target would tell the caliber nonetheless.

nah that's gotta go to Asylum Aftermath no matter how you look at it
the romanian/bulgarian/whatever cops are aimbotting x-ray vision motherfuckers and they love hiding behind doors too

Was that the biker club one or the docks one? Can't quite remember.
the biker club
deadly cargo is the docks

Oh, yeah.
In this case, Rendezvous in Rotterdam was pretty annoying, but it doesn't have SHIT on Deadly Cargo. You pretty much had two options there: either start an all-out shootout, or have to wait for ages at that police station until both cops watching the station door were in perfect positions. And then was the matter of getting on the ship, and getting off the ship afterwards... Getting a Silent Assassin was such a pain in the ass. (and so was any solution that wasn't an all-out shootout, but especially SA, for obvious reasons)
I actually found it rather easy to get into the police station
basically I did the following;
Talk to woman, plant bug, talk to cop, get uniform and Glock, go to shed, get worker outfit, drop silverballers, place glock in toolbox, pick that shit up, pass security guys at the gate, knock one out when possible, slip onto the ship, garotte the target while he's in the room on the main deck, leave, get workers outfit and toolbox incase of need for glock, get to shed, get police uniform, get to station, get suit, get the fuck out, silent assassin
it took a few tries though, mainly due to the target's X-RAY SPECS and the cops once or twice
I grabbed a swat guy once and didnt get found out.
Has anyone played Hitman 2 recently? It's still pretty damn good and I forgot how revolutionary it was for it's time but....Dem ragdolls mang. They fly like 100 fucking feet if you shoot them with pistols.

That one is really really easy. Go up to floor 2, get a patient uniform and go into the lab past the SWAT team members on floor 1 (they'll tell you to go into the lab and wait)
Follow the SWAT guy up the stairs and sneak into the room he goes into (you might wanna wait for him to exit it first) walk onto the balcony, go down the ladder and go to the car when the patrol's back is turned.
Actually Asylum is piss easy because you can take a dead swats uniform.
Beat Rendezvous in Rotterdam on Silent Assassin, apparently if you fibre wire enemies and they're not discovered, it still counts for SA.
It's not the same for innocents however, I fibre wired a SWAT member in Deadly Cargo to get his clothes and I got Professional

how many did you wire?
I think how many times you do X thing also matters or atleast ive got that impression when playing contracts and blood money.

hm. i wired two. the first was to get his clothes but he must've been out of my size or something cuz i couldn't take them, so i got another and those worked
on deadly cargo it was just the one swat member
I'm on Traditions of the Trade and i have a good plan worked out but my cover always gets blown by something as mundane as running past a guard. professional is punishing
EDIT: boy the guards at slaying a dragon have psychic guard syndrome something fierce

you can get a similar effect in Blood Money by using dual Silverballers with magnum ammo on a large map, like A New Life. shoot fast enough and you can literally air-juggle someone all the way down the street, or at least you could last time I did it.
Just played Hitman Absolution for 20 minutes at Firstlook
Goddamn this game plays smoothly, had the Chinese mission level and played through it 3x in a completely different style, every style worked pretty good, one was harder then the other but in overall its really a big change of gameplay if you decide how to kill him

Proof of that i played it :v:
Also a fun goodie
I ordered the Deluxe Professional Edition (PC) from Amazon a few days ago because it was about the same price as the normal version in my country.
But I will also have to wait around a week for it to be shipped, while I would get it on the release day if I buy it from a local store.
Do you think it is worth the wait for this version? The statue is pretty ugly I guess.
I already added Sniper challenge to my Steam account, but I guess there won't be any problems if I cancel the order?
personally i think all these collector's editions and stuff are all complete bullshit.
they always come with some "making of" disk you can probably watch on youtube, some really shitty schwag that breaks the moment you touch it and maybe even some stuff in game that doesn't change much at all and might as well be reskinned guns or something like that.
if you can pay retail price for a normal edition for a collector's edition, by all means, free stuff is great. but i've become greatly disillusioned after i learned collector's editions are a complete scam.
also pre-ordering is a complete scam as well. basically it's just gaming outlets ensuring that you buy the game from them if you only put down the minimum amount (some fucking retards put down the full amount on a preorder... why in the fuck would you ever do that?)... despite the fact that pre-ordering doesn't necessarily guarantee you a copy on the first day of release anyways.
bitching aside i might preorder this game as i can only play it on my PS3, and really the only thing anyone has a reason to preorder are console games. even then i might just get it from gamefly. sure i have to wait 2 days till after release till i get it but i get mucho discounts. plus if it turns out to be complete shit i can return it.
I wish there could be an alternative for PC users to switch point-shooting to a slow-motion aiming mode.
Due to being an experienced PC gamer the point-shooting mechanic is rather pointless for me.
Played "A New Life" today. Sedated the Feds in the van, suited up, followed Vinnie's wife to the shower-room, knocked her out with the sedatives, took the necklace, went to the room where Vinnie was watching TV with his bodyguard looking over his shoulder, whipped out my silenced .45 loaded with sub-sonics and chained two headshots and then left.
I'm all fine with the point-shoot mechanic, but a slow-motion aim as a replacement would just feel more natural for me.
you realize with the point shoot mechanic you don't just mark your target, you mark exactly where you want to shoot them right?
[editline]8th October 2012[/editline]
from what i've seen, point shooting is more like vats in fallout 3 and new vegas than it is the marking system in conviction.

what exactly is so great about this?
there's no way you could have gotten SA off of that without using cheats.
hell even with cheats, you'd need to be using hax!
Hmm?
Maybe he doesn't care about doing the best, maybe he just wants to make fun kills?
Yup :3
I could never get SA in contracts. The AI in that game was just broken. If the AI could smell you, you had to reload your fucking save.
