Am I the only one who goes on a massive rampage after a few unsuccessful tries to get a silent assassin because of some stupid mistake?
Nope. It's stress relieving, and sets you up for another attempt.
Am I the only one who goes on a massive rampage after a few unsuccessful tries to get a silent assassin because of some stupid mistake?
No you're not. "GOD DAMN IT GUARD WHY WERE YOU WATCHING ME PUSH HER INTO HE POOL FUCK YOU AHHHGH" *pew pew pew*
I might wait until TB Does a WTF Is just to see some gameplay that isnt being directed by a PR Person
that's the thing about a hardcore session of hitman. if you have the right mind set going in it really humbles you, especially when you're playing no saves max difficulty.
wow 42 new posts over a negative PCG review. you actually take what that shit publication has to say to heart? THEY RATED HELLGATE LONDON 88 PERCENT AND LOST ME 70 DOLLARS ON THE ULTIMATE COLLECTOR'S EDITION! [editline]10th November 2012[/editline] to everyone who doesn't take the PCG review with a couple grains of salt (as in: treat it as a giant smelly pile of bullshit), you're being led on by a publication that has a history of being terrible at reviewing games for the past half a decade.
I liked Hellgate, wouldn't say it is 88 percent though, more of 60-70.
wow i just watched that new trailer... i'm willing to bet square enix is entirely responsible for the ad campaign. i must applaud them. [editline]10th November 2012[/editline] "and don't come crying if you can't handle it" that last bit actually makes me want to play purist the first time though.
Man, the guards in Hitman 2 are really alert.
You can't even run without alerting them, unless you exploit it a bit by holding down the run key and tapping the 'forward' key. Otherwise, be prepared to walk very slowly everywhere.
all this talk of silent assassin makes me want to reinstall it. just i have this sound glitch that makes the ambient noise REALLY loud for no reason when i go into certain menus at certain times. i think out of all the hitman games this one was the best suited for combat runs. also it had that one mission which i think is the best hitman mission of the entire series with the KGB agent at the party and stuff. the only real complaint i have with hitman 2 is how puny all the pistols are. seriously, go into first person mode with the dual ballers or the baretta. they look like little toy imitations of the real thing. wow i'm actually stoked for this hitman 2 replay... probably cause the spas 12 kicks so much ass. [editline]10th November 2012[/editline] also i have to scour hitman forum for this fix i always have to do when playing this on PC... i wish i hadn't lost my ps2 copy of hitman 2.
I suppose it's to be expected since I'm playing on Professional in Silent Assassin, but damn I don't remember any of the guards being this alert in Blood Money. If I get near anyone they immediately know I'm a bad dude.
Am I the only one who goes on a massive rampage after a few unsuccessful tries to get a silent assassin because of some stupid mistake?
I loved doing that. 5-7 unsuccessful tries. Fuck it. Reload map, get the heavy guns out, mow down everything I see.
The guards can see into your soul at close range. Get some distance, yo.
that last bit actually makes me want to play purist the first time though.
Join me! The 1st 2 hitmans are hard as fuck.
I never noticed it before, but I was playing Hitman 2 on the second mission and the Inception/Absolution "boom...boom" started playing as part of the atmospheric music.
not with an m60 and a sawn off.. [editline]10th November 2012[/editline]
I never noticed it before, but I was playing Hitman 2 on the second mission and the Inception/Absolution "boom...boom" started playing as part of the atmospheric music.
it's way more retro sounding and doesn't sound like it that much..
maybe i'll do a gameplay video when the game comes out. if my computer can handle it. :V
Pros - Nice looking locations - Contracts mode is good, although not an adequate replacement of a proper Hitman game - "One very good mission" near the end, but still not as good or as free as Blood Money Cons - No saving, checkpoint system is awful - even an AI glitch can lead to you having to restart the level, also doesn't save data such as disguises or items you've left, and guards killed will respawn - Focus on (embarrassingly bad) story over gameplay - PC performance was awful, they tried out on 3 different PCs - two can run Skyrim smoothly yet get 15fps in Hitman on minimal settings, with occasional freezes of over a second, and load times of over a minute - A lot of gameplay involves you getting to a door to trigger a cutscene - The amount of kills you have control over how they're executed is about 25%, even then it's not as expansive as Blood Money - Equipment system - can't choose weapons in main missions, or carry weapons over between missions - Guard AI is strange, they will sometimes detect you walking where commando rolling wouldn't get you detected - "Sneak by covering your face" idea is laughable - DRM on Contracts mode - can't play any contracts, even your own, offline Well damn.
I'll just wait to see what you guys in the thread think of it, Need an upgrade before i can run the agme anyway.

Or is this the PC Gamer review? If so, my bad.
Source please? Or is this the PC Gamer review? If so, my bad.
yeah it's PC Gamer. It's the only negative review so far so it could be an anomaly but some of the stuff he's saying seems undeniably bad "Three-quarters of these levels are purely about traversal, getting from A to B to move the story forwards, and if you're given anyone to kill, it happens in a cutscene or scripted slow-mo event. The other quarter do give you a target to kill, and a choice of how, but that segmentation (of the levels) means you're operating in a space that isn't as rich or complex as a typical Blood Money mission".
I saw a few people on other forums cancel their pre-orders because of that review specifically. Gosh.
So wait, if you can't choose weapons and they don't stay for the next mission how those the upgrade system work?
I do think people are incredibly idiotic to cancel pre-orders based on one review alone. And a PC Gamer review at that.
So basically they are ranting because they made hitman more linear to flow with the story, its no longer about killing a dedicated contact in X large area, made the maps smaller and into cells to improve performance plus flow with the story and the checkpoint system is still a WIP because they got a pre-release build of the game which is likely to have a few bugs oh and the DRM on the contracts mode is kinda legit as it is, you know, hosted off their servers. Yeah I'm not gonna eat this shit up, it's still gonna be a good game which I'll enjoy regardless of how shitty I am at hitman games and PC gamer is just shitting on it because they can.
Is Hitman: Blood Money the latest game?
Is Hitman: Blood Money the latest game?
Hitman: Codename 47 Hitman 2: Silent Assassin Hitman: Contracts Hitman: Blood Money Hitman: Absolution
Is Hitman: Blood Money the latest game?
For 9 more days.
my god the hitman forum review thread is a bunch of circle jerking over how they don't care about how it's more story driven and all the other shit in the review. they're in denial over something with as much credibility as a politician.
