Oh cool, I'm okay with that.
I've been hearing some people complaining about the cover system and some people went as far as to complain that you can crouch walk/run now. Some people are fucking retarded I swear to god. But I really can't wait for the game to come out, it looks brilliant.
QTE's don't bother me. I don't really see the problem. People complain when the game does everything for you, then they complain when you get to do stuff via a QTE. I like them.
Better than mashing left mouse button hoping that your next hit will connect or the person you're beating down will scamper off bringing a building of guards on top of you anyway.
What on earth, that Travis guy has a robot hand: What do cripples have against 47?
Maybe they're trying to contrast Hitman being the 'perfect clone', almost superhuman, with disabled people? The antagonist in Blood Money at least claims to have been crippled and badly burnt in an assassination attempt. Also the guy doing that Reddit thing hasn't even played Blood Money. I'd say he's a pretty bad source of any comparison.

But the game isn't Blood Money, it's more of a Silent Assassin.
Whatever the case I'm just gonna say fuck the police, keep my preorder and enjoy the game when I unlock it.
Whatever the case I'm just gonna say fuck the police, keep my preorder and enjoy the game when I unlock it.
As we all should, that's the way to be. Saw this on another forum:
I have reviewed this game, although I would like to remain anonymous. I can honestly say that the comments Mr Francis has made about the game are entirely false. Assassinations are NOT cutscenes any more than they are in Blood Money (IE an animation once the 'accident' is set up or whatever is the way it's always been – it's not a cutscene because you're either choosing to stick around and watch – in full control – or you're already making your escape or whatever, NEVER is control taken away from you). As for checkpoints THEY ONLY EVEN EXIST ON LOW DIFFICULTY. Meaning this reviewer played it through on easy or medium and since he claims to be an experienced Hitman player, he should know that these difficulty levels were not made for him. He has essentially failed to do the job he has been paid to do. The 'pointless' objectives (open a door) refers to exiting the level once the hit has been complete. YOU HAVE ALWAYS HAD TO EXIT THE LEVEL ONCE THE HIT WAS COMPLETE. Some of the levels are small, sure, but THERE ARE FIFTY OF THEM. The AI is fantastic as always. 47 is the catalyst. Mix him with the AI in any way and entertaining (and often unexpected) things happen. Just as they always have, but way, way better than ever before. The story is, admittedly, quite poor, but it's also irrelevant. It ties one playground to the next by a thin thread and that's all that matters. Do not listen to Tom Francis. He has failed to do his job and speaking as a fellow reviewer, in my opinion deserves to be severely scolded for it, both by the general gaming public, who he has failed, by the developer and publisher of the game, who he has failed, and by the company he works for, who he has failed. Once you lot get to play the game, you will immediately see how FACTUALLY incorrect this review is. It's chock-full of out and out lies.

As we all should, that's the way to be. Saw this on another forum:
That is only reinforcement to what we already know. Now will the people who get choked up over one review stop doing it? Says a lot about people now'adays.
fifty... levels? oh god i just came 3 times in a fucking row you guys like seriously...
fifty... levels? oh god i just came 3 times in a fucking row you guys like seriously...
To be fair I'm not sure levels was the right term though. I heard it was around 20-21 so maybe he's counting like small sections where there isn't much as levels too. But to be honest that's still plenty long and something to be excited over. I'm kind of happy that the game got this one controversial negative review, it's slightly killed the hype for me to the point that I'm not expecting perfection so I'll probably think it's better than the bar I'm at instead of going into thinking "Damn this is going to be the best game ever."
I hope you can play contracts on all of those. I'd probably not close the game until the next Hitman is released.
i mean for starters i don't believe any of this bullshit negative stuff about the game. IOI is still developing it and given the nature of the game they'd have no reason to put in through the old splinter-cell-conviction grinder and make an entirely different game this game will be a hitman game at its very core. it's not gonna be a conviction, but whether or not it's going to be a chaos theory or a double agent... we don't know that yet. One thing I hope for is that they release level packs for Contracts Mode. That would be soooo badass. And a way to keep the game fresh a year after release. I just hope they're free packs, but I wouldn't mind paying for a few good levels.
I kind of wish that Hitman HD would come to PC too, but I doubt we will see it. That will be including the bits through the doors you cant go back through, but still. HOLY SHIT.
Yeah but IOI is only helping with the next one, Squenix Montreal is the dev from what I've seen.
i don't like the sound of that At least Absolution will be good, it'll tide us over forever potentially, with the Contracts
IOI is the developer and Square Enix is the publisher.
so which is it aghhh Well it's not like it matters, that's not the game that's coming out in a week.
Oh god I just realised. 50 levels to fuck around in contracts with.
i don't like the sound of that At least Absolution will be good, it'll tide us over forever potentially, with the Contracts
It could go either way really, Deus Ex: Human Revolution was pretty damn good from what I've played of it, but the game director used to work on staff at IOI. yeah after deus ex human rev and absolution i wouldn't mind both studios collaborating.
I hope there's a level involving a big restaurant, because then I'll make a contract where you have to dress up as a chicken and murder all the chefs with knives and kitchen utensils or something.
something big in store for hitman? my guess: they use absolution as a platform upon which they release shitloads of different DLC, most pertaining to contracts mode. not only new levels but weapons, tools, disguises, everything EVERYTHIIIIIIIIIING

But that would be super fun. Try to make it "don't get spotted" too. Just pick a random head and that's what your character would be, as if you're playing someone else at the ICA. That'd kind of allow you to build up your own storylines through Contracts as well, assuming you can edit the Contract description.
It'd be hella cool to play as different characters, but I'm not sure how much work it would be in the animation department if you wanted them to feel quite a bit different.
They could just allow you to slap on different models over 47 and roll with it, Although i have a feeling it won't happen.
It'd be hella cool to play as different characters, but I'm not sure how much work it would be in the animation department if you wanted them to feel quite a bit different.
They could just replace 47's head with a random male one, but, yeah, animations would be the same. Still something.
that is right you could create your own storylines. then those levels could be put together as one big story. a collection of levels you download. contracts mode would probably have popular ratings. so the best stories could be easily identified. IOI could even go over and recommend stories and even individual levels. i hope contracts mode is cross platform. it would have to be to be decent given hitman's relatively small community. [editline]13th November 2012[/editline] anyone remember timesplitters future perfect? there were some pretty good god damn custom levels to download in that game. this is all kinda reminiscent of that. except you could create entire levels.
