What are you doing steam.
I still would like the pre-order bonus, I'd like to play the other Hitmans too
Well I'd still say it's worth it, so far it's one of my favorite games this year, granted it's been pretty dead as a whole (this year, not this game), but I think it's awesome I guess mostly because I don't expect it to be Blood Money 2.0 but a game on it's own.

Ninja edit, my bad.
And after I posted the post above I cleared the level without any problems.
I like the game so far, though.
People on my friends list are playing this BUT NOT ME.
Steam...
Stuck in preloaded.. hmm..
The kane and lynch easter egg is fucking awesome. Love you IO.
How's it run on PC, by the way?
Optimization wise

Cool I missed the pre-order by 2 minutes.
Thanks Steam
I can't even play it, stuck in preloaded. Restarted Steam like 8 times.

Happening here too, anyway to fix this?
People claim to say that deleting the game then download it again works. But this takes time and wasting bandwidth.

Same thing here
steam says its downloading something for me but there is no download speed listed and the size shows it as complete, just a slowly moving progress bar

Optimization is great, but keep in mind the highest settings are meant for really high end/future hardware to run at extreme framerates.
yes the King is bugged sometimes....good start huh.
Anyway quick mini review having played the first few missions
Hitman: Retries
Let me state one thing before I start, the Hitman as you know it is long gone, in its place a passable (albeit beautiful) stealth game.
They have basically removed all the little touches that made hitman great, even the tiny touches that used to make you think "man, they really care about this game" the concealing gun animation, lights being toggleable, the UI, manual saves , the sheer scale of map the list goes on and on
what you have in its place is something that lies between hitman and conviction, leaning extremely heavily toward conviction unfortunatly.
I heard alot of praise about the KOCT level being sandboxy and it is! but its literally the size of the nextdoor neighbours ...sandbox. And don't get me started on the Disguise feature, its currently just....broken. On the more difficulties ..broken and pointless.
the terminus hotel was next and boy I was exited, untill I realised it was broken up into tiny floors, and there wasnt even a target at the end, I went through a door.....aaaaaaand cut.
I wont go on as I don't want to spoil any more of it for those who haven't played, but so far, the PCG review was spot on, as a long time hitman fan, disappointment cant even describe how I feel about absolution.

Extremely unwilling to do this, I'll just hold out on the chance of it working after waiting.
So if I'm looking for a Hitman experience, but don't want to deal with the disguise problems listed above, what difficulty should I play it on?
AFAIK you can edit difficulties so just to purist (or something close to it) then enable instinct, but only have the disguise-hiding aspect of instinct turned on. It's basically a nessicary mechanic to the (broken) disguise system in the game.
Sharing wardrobes with dead people sure is interesting.

I love how the thread cleared out up to the point where its only the people who can't play it.
So i tried the sniper challenge, i was afraid my PC would run it terribly (due to recent experiences with planetside 2) and with low settings, AA on, and a medium resolution, with absolutions pre-load going at full speed, it still ran amazingly well, and even though the settings were on low, it still looked great.
Hopefully thats the same for the actual game :v:
So, I'm sure this is a dumb question as it is the Hitman megathread.
Would I get my moneys worth out of this game? Is it the same "100 ways to finish the mission"?
Deleted Local Content, when about to click "install". PRE-LOAD... JESUS...
Really Steam? There's so many people already playing, so why not let the rest have fun?
Really Steam? There's so many people already playing, so why not let the rest have fun?
As generic as this post is, I'm to frustrated to disagree. lol

Because valve would get yelled at probably.
Purist mode is really really hard. Is there even a way to not get detected immediately in part 2 of level 1? I lure the gardener out and kill them, then I throw a knife at the other guy. But I can only get so far inside before they're all like "hey you're not one of us, die die die".
also, I think my save got corrupted after I died. It's just permanently loading and never does anything now.
Oh wow, Did honestly not see that coming. :v:

[sp]So you're saying I can kill Lynch finally? Dear Christ Christmas has truly came early.[/sp]

If you wanted to have a Blood Money type Hitman game, go play Blood Money.
[editline]19th November 2012[/editline]
ps: going into a game thinking "UGH THIS GAME IS GOING TO SUCK" really changes your point of view.
