I don't get why we can customise and unlock guns if you can't select what you want at the beginnig of a mission/contract
again i have no idea what you mean how is this game not the pinnacle of the hitman series. granted i've not played much but i've played enough.
Dexters bodyguard is so out of proportion.
again i have no idea what you mean how is this game not the pinnacle of the hitman series. granted i've not played much but i've played enough.
The one aspect of the Hitman series, the key thing that sets it apart from most other stealth games, being able to work your way through the game through disguising, is essentially a half baked minigame that relies on an "optional" meter that on the higher difficulties lasts long enough to let you walk past one or two guards before you're forced to just go back to stay out of sight stealth. The only thing that makes this a Hitman game is that it features the title on the box and 47 is the character you play as.
I don't get why we can customise and unlock guns if you can't select what you want at the beginnig of a mission/contract
Well you can choose a weapon at the beginning of creating a contract and that's it, right? Kinda sucks.
Does anyone else think the whole 'disguise meter' thing is total shit? I mean, jesus christ they spot you in like 2 seconds, its not ever worth disguising on hard.
[sp]he's genetically engineered just like 47, an audio log says so in the Dexter Laboratories level[/sp]
[sp] not just an audio log, a guard speeds to a scientist about it and he says it too[/sp]
you guys are using disguises wrong you're meant to wear one type of disguise to mingle with people who aren't of the type you're disguised as. (like being a plumber to walk past guards)

It's not like the difficulties do much except make disguises harder to see through
instinct on expert and above is practically useless anyways.
Dexters bodyguard is so out of proportion.
That's what [sp] gigantism and super soldier serum [/sp] do to people.
The sheer size is what did it. The proportions. [editline]22nd November 2012[/editline] I mean he's like 10 fucking feet tall.
That guy is taller then the man your speaking of. It's possible just very very unlikely. I mean the height by the way.
I don't like how you can never tell it's a restricted area unless you walk on it and get spotted and lose like 1200 points and gotta start all over again.
I don't like how you can never tell it's a restricted area unless you walk on it and get spotted and lose like 1200 points and gotta start all over again.
on [del]pussy[/del] normal difficulty it shows you.
I don't like how you can never tell it's a restricted area unless you walk on it and get spotted and lose like 1200 points and gotta start all over again.
Most restricted areas are marked by a "Staff Only" or "Restricted Access" sign. Some of them are wierd though, like not being allowed too close to the vendors in Chinatown. [editline]22nd November 2012[/editline] Any tips on getting through the train station on Expert? I'm trying to do it suit only but the crowds are incredibly sparse.

Yea this really is me. [editline]22nd November 2012[/editline] Also is it just me or are the loading times in this game quite slow?
Is there any way to take out the guy in blue on the [sp]orphanage[/sp] level without being spotted? Every time I kill him with no witnesses it says that I've been spotted.
Is there any way to take out the guy in blue on the [sp]orphanage[/sp] level without being spotted? (also [sp][/sp] tags are your friend here)
You don't have to kill anyone that shows up as blue with instinct. (also [sp][/sp] tags are your friend here)
No I mean he's wearing a blue suit. Whenever I kill him everyone aggros instantly.
The disguise system they have in the game is a great idea, but it is really poorly executed. If they did some major changes to the AI, and basicly gave every disguise its own features (As in, how long it takes for people to notice you), it would make so much more sense. There is not a single chicago police officer in this game that doesnt know exactly how the back of every other police officers head looks like, and that is just stupid. Also, they need to make some disguises make more sense, like the ski mask and gas mask ones (He doesnt put the gas mask on, only some glasses), and make the AI react more to unusual things a person with those clothes would do, rather than just them being there.
while i agree partially i don't think it's poorly executed at all. also regarding the police officers... all these guys are briefed each day and have a good look at each other's faces at the beginning of a shift most likely. so it is actually pretty realistic in that regard. and when you think about it, face concealing disguises would kind of break the game in some respects. like the way the game is supposed to be played out is you're to avoid all the people who have this disguise because they all know each other. and there are LOTS of hiding places. it's not hard either. while i'm not exactly ghosting in this playthough i'm more kill only when necessary and it's working out quite well and things never get too fucked up. also the fact that 47 carved a part of his scalp off... ugh just the mear thought of being able to quasi touch your skull like that gives me the heebie jeebies. actually the one thing i think they could have done better would have been point shooting. in regards to it using up instinct. i think point shooting should have stopped time altogether and took instinct away for each shot, not how long you are in the mode.
The new disguise system is very realistic, but it's not very fun. If you completely switch it out with the older disguise system, though, it's not as challenging. At the least, I really wish it was toned down. I am sure not all the mercenaries know exactly who their teammates look like, and especially not be able to recognize them from 20 feet away. It's not broken, but it needs some tweaking. [editline]22nd November 2012[/editline] Have you guys seen this? Square Enix is making the next Hitman http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/11/22/io-nara-squenix-montreal-to-make-next-hitman/
My problem with the disguises is having the right disguise makes you stand out way more than if you were just dressed normal in a lot of situations. Like when you go back to China Town, I was dressed up as a cook, and then suddenly every vendor was on my ass like a vulture even though I was in a huge crowd of people. Another thing I noticed is if you are in a crowd, if turn your back to whoever is suspicious of you they instantly don't give a shit, but if you turn your head slightly they are on your ass again. Not only that but this only works if you are in a crowd. Why? The back of my head should be inconspicuous no matter where I'm standing. But then this creates a weird problem in itself because now I find if I want to go somewhere, I have to spin in circles really quickly because more often than not I'm surrounded by guards. Example of this when you are at the train station waiting for the train, I literally just spun in a circle for a minute until the train arrived and I booked it on. Not suspicious at all.
I think that's good design. The best disguise to have is a guard disguise because it can get you anywhere, and there's a lot of them so they're easy to get. However, they're really easy to see through; that's the challenging bit. It's a trade-off. [editline]22nd November 2012[/editline] I agree with your crowd point, though. This is IO's first time doing this disguise system and it definitely needs tweaking, and I am hoping it's tons better in the next game. It took them 5 games to get AI to be not stupid.
I think disguise would work best if it was changed based on distance rather than time spent in a guard's FOV. Like, it'd just make more sense for a guard to notice 47 if he was right up in his face, rather than scoping 47 out at the edge of a cornfield.
Holy fuck balls, just beat the orphanage without getting spotted, using disguises or killing anybody. It was only hard difficulty, but I spent like 5 hours on this mission alone. Wish there were more checkpoints in that level, but I felt ecstatic after winning it. Also, in hard mode at least, if you're in a disguise and somebody of the same outfit is looking at you, if they can't see your face then they don't get suspicious. I don't know if it's any different in the harder difficulties but I tried it in the strip club on the guards there and as long as they couldn't see my face I wouldn't get the yellow marker. Also in the train level when you're in the crowds the same thing applies, just make sure you've got a person in between you and the police. And the disguise you choose adds a lot of tactics to it, like when you return to China town. Do I get a cop outfit to slip past all the Chinese cooks or do I grab a cook costume to waltz past the cops? I ended up staying with a cook outfit and at one point there was a section filled with only cops and I just walked to the exit. but, on some previous areas and when I was in the main area I had to stay away from cooks and make sure they didn't see my face. I like the disguise system honestly, it's more realistic and challenging, but then again I've never played a previous Hitman so I don't know if that disguise system is more fun.
I think that's good design. The best disguise to have is a guard disguise because it can get you anywhere, and there's a lot of them so they're easy to get. However, they're really easy to see through; that's the challenging bit. It's a trade-off.
I don't know... It makes some sense I guess when you're infiltrating a building and all the guards know each other, same with the police squad. But when I'm just a cook walking down the street of a night market, I shouldn't have to worry about the other chefs catching onto me because A) It's incredibly unrealistic for them to be able to catch onto me when they are that busy. I mean they are yelling random shit at 30 people right in front of them, waving their arms around, doing all sorts of crazy Chinese cooking, but at a mere glance 20 feet away and they can see through my disguise? And not even that, how are they even able to tell I'm not really a chef? I mean it's not like the vendors actually work together, they just set up on the street and cook. Unless there is some sort of secret chef's guild they are inducted into, and that's how they know each other, they really shouldn't take notice at all. And B) doesn't it kind of completely defeat the whole purpose of disguises? As far as I can tell being disguised only has come useful in just a few situations, most of the time now I just keep my suit and sneak past everyone. Because from what I can tell right now, if I'm going to be spotted, I'm going to be spotted, doesn't matter if I was dressed up as a cop or a giant rubber chicken.
