You can't get a Silent Assassin rating in most levels killing everyone. This is truth.
You can get a really high score anyway even if you do kill everyone. This is truth.
The point loss of killing 100 guards is 20k-30k, the amount of points you get in the levels where there are liable to be 100 guards ranges into the 100-150k area. So a 20-30k loss from such a high score, usually results in only a minor downgrade to the score you would have gotten not killing anyone, or not killing as many people.
I think the point of games is to have fun, not to calculate how much points you can gain if you kill or not kill everyone.

Except to get the 100-150K point for the hit you need the 125,000 silent assassin bonus, which you can't get if you kill 100 guards. Your arguement ignores how the point system actually works. A kill only gets you 10,000 points not the 100,000 you pretend it does.

Except that's not true at all, I completely botched the Saints mission for example, ended up having to kill everyone, still hit 150k and got a professional rating.
How long does this Police escape drag on?
Jesus.

The one mission with 7 targets is your proof. Are you fucking serious? Play either Chinatown mission killing everyone and see if you get near 100,000. Play Blackwater Park and go on a shooting spree. Play Terminus, Run for Your Life, Streets of Hope.
Don't cherry pick the one fucking mission with 7 targets and say "Well you can get 100,000 points by getting into shootouts". So fucking what, you can get almost 1 million points if you get a silent assassin rank, your example means shit.

Nailed it.
Also is anyone finding this extremely hard on the 'hard' difficulty?
And before you call me out and say, 'lol u fuking idiot it says HARD', what I mean is that the average time for someone to spot you is like 0.5 seconds in a disguise, it makes it completely worthless, in my opinion.
That makes it seem like the only way to get around in the harder levels is to remain unseen since you get spotted so unnaturally fast, even with you back turned, 50m away.
I'm to the point in the game where I [sp]just killed Sanchez[/sp] and I have to say that I like this game as much as I like Dues Ex: Human Revolution. Fucking amazing.
Am I just shit at this game or what? I barely ever get above 50k scores. I don't understand.
I might knock out 2 or 3 guards and hide their bodies which negates the penalties, but I'm still finding unique ways to kill the target and I hunt for evidence to destroy, and I'm not getting these crazy high above 100k scores.

You have to go completely undetected without killing anyone to get those scores as far as I know.
What mode are you guys playing on, I have had to switch to Normal as Hard is getting the better of me. I have 13 hours played and have just got to "Dexters lab". I literally don't think I will complete the game ever at the speed I was going at.
Purist all the way, got to Dexter's Lab too, haven't played today, though.
But DAMN, the part right before I got the to elevator, fuck that shit. That was the part where I was literally forced to drop a landmine and blow up two explosive canisters to get through.

Which isn't as fun as say, Casually walking in overt as all fuck and gunning everyone down, like in the Suburbs mission in Blood Money. Always fun. Going undetected is great and all, but I have to murder some people when doing it, I just can't leave well enough alone

Then save the stealth gameplay for another time when you're in the mood for it?

I think gunning everyone down in Hitman is boring as fuck, like there is no challenge or satisfaction of walking in and gunning down everyone IMO, I only like killing a lot of people when I can do it silently with no one noticing. Though for example sneaking around in plain site like on the king of chinatown mission and just poisoning the food he is about to eat and standing in the middle of the huge crowd waiting for him to fall over so I can calmly walk over to the exit is great. On Purist no doubt, no other way to play.

I generally go the stealth approach my first play through, but after that it's Let's Fuck Around time. No Disguises, need to look absolutely badass the entire time
Murdering everyone in a level brutally but stealthily is so damn fun.

Have you actually tried gunning everyone in Absolution? It's actually really intense as you're not as much of a bullet sponge as you were in Blood Money. If you're on a mission that has a lot of guards, killing them all by just shooting your way trough will be quite a challenge.

Whenever I try to shoot everyone else I usually run out of ammo, try to move up and grab some dropped ammo and get blown to pieces by 5 cops all firing at once.

Yep, since disguises don't help much unless you move between everything perfectly, I just go through with my suit on since that's the classiest, shame he doesn't wear his iconic suit for most of the game. I also hated how he gave birdie the silverballers.

I have, for me it's like using cheats, fun for a bit then it gets old and not as satisfying as sneaking. Though the mission where the agency comes to hope and your in the market, a shoot out there is really fun and intense because of how many guards there are, then I was running low on ammo the building explodes somehow and takes out most of them, pretty damn cool.

It all depends on your position and what you are trying to do, during the streets of hope mission I like staying on the top of store and whipping those charges out the window at the cops. :v:
Holy crap the saints level is so fun
I noticed something interesting in Blood Money. The "SLP40" is implied to be chambered in the .40S&W round by it's name, but in-game it uses .45ACP rounds, and the newspapers afterwards claim the casings to be 9mm.
The sheer amount of cops in this game is absurd.
Does anyone know if the sniper challenge will become available later as dlc?
I played my friend's contract and made a bad video about it please watch it

They should add more weapons to the weapon board for contracts. oh and melee weapons!
Does anyone know if the sniper challenge will become available later as dlc?
They've said it won't, but I wouldn't hold my breath that it stays exclusive forever.
could get it somewhere else. I mean it doesent cost anything anywhere

I was expecting it to be everything from singleplayer and was disappointed. I thought that would be the whole point of collecting random weapons.

Small bug I thought was funny, if you've already played this scene then skip to :56 if you don't want to re-hear the dialogue I guess
Oh, one of my friends reviewed this game, let's see what he had to say...

Supposedly, shooting a p228 in the firing range is not allowed.
