if I ever win the lottery I'm donating like a million quid to these guys just because of that hilarious commentator
Can't wait for this. It won't be out for a VERY long time I reckon (probibly not for another two years), but they are doing weekly alphas and stuff so it's not like your wait is terribly bad if you pre-order.
I'm pretty interested in the story/species relational aspects of this game personally. Just how all the different species interact with each other, their personalities clashing, and/or what comes of it.
Pretty good actually! Shame I can't run Lugaru on W7, well it does work but it's in fastforward.
Heh, thanks, I didn't think it was good myself, but I think that about all my videos.

They are aiming for a full release in a year or so. But they said that they will have something much more playable soon. As in, a stable beta with most of the features in it. Kinda like the state Mount & Blade was in before it got released.
Bought the organic whateverthatwas pack

Good man!
Also, here is a rather old video from last year where one of the developers answers some questions about how Overgrowth is diffirent.

Oh Jesus, looking at the latest release on the alpha trailer, I am fucking amazed by how easy it was to animate. Along side the fact it's piss to edit maps as well, I am buying this pack ASAP. :fuckyou:
And do "Amazon.co.uk" accounts count as "Amazon.com" accounts?
Edit:
Yep, they do. Purchaysed. :3:

Great to see that people are buying the game and supporting them!
I take it that you are interested in the rigging and animation tools, beware, they are a bit buggy. Make sure to deselect all bones/joints before you hit ctrl + t (Adding the bones to the mesh), otherwise it will crash. Found that out the hard way.
Ok, I'll try to remember that. :P
Downloading the 59 alpha and the NS2 Spark editor thing now.

A59 is very unstable compared A58, get that instead! And, tomorrow Jeff will release a new alpha. Gonna be great to see what goodies it has.

Oh right, I didn't see the A58. I'll just wait for A60, I'll mess around with NS2 for tonight. :)
You're not BUYING it, you're just PREORDERING, so it's ok. ;)
Perfect. Bought. Thanks to FP for helping me break my New Year's Resolution 10 days after it started!

A60's been and gone, it was even buggier so they pulled it. They're gonna release A61 this week.
Some custom playermodels would be cool, like having some humans and shit.
Just bought the Organic pack. Can't wait to play this and NS2!
I just bought the NS2 - overgrowth pack.
Rate me hearts!
Honestly, I never thought that 2 completely unrelated Indie games that I want would be available in a discounted 2 pack. >.>;;
Needless to say, I'm extremely happy now and am quite excited for both games. =3
The new blog update is fucking awesome, this game is gunna rock!

Oh, right, just noticed. They don't seem to use stickying/pinning on their threads, I get all confused at what's official and what's not without that. :v:
Just out of curiosity. How many of you bought the pack after reading my thread? Would be fun to know how much I've helped Wolfire with my thread.

I'll hopefully buy it today (turns out I had less money to spare than I originally thought), and even if I don't manage to get enough money in time, I'll pre-order Overgrowth anyway. So at the very least 1 sale (I was already interested in it, but this thread made my hype spike).
Why isn't this pack on steam? D:
Does this work on windows 7?
Why isn't this pack on steam? D:
Because the game is still in alpha stages. It wouldn't make sence to sell it on steam. And don't worry, if you preorder it now, you can move your preorder to steam later when the game is finished, the developers have confirmed this for Overgrowth. The guys behind NS2 are also talking to Valve and will most likely do the same. So preorder away, you got nothing to lose! And you support them 100% with the money you give them.

It works just fine, I am running it on W7 64-bit.

It's not a matter of supporting them or not, I'd love to give them my full money, but I can only buy games online through steam, not through paypal. If I could, I would.

Ah, alright then. Shame that you can't.
UPDATE!
They have passed 1000 copies! John will be now dying his beard pink! (The guy that does the voice in the developer videos and whatnot has a large beard)
Jeff himself (the guy that does the coding) said that they would have celebrated at 100 sales so I bet they are throwing a huge party now!
Also, if you guys buy the game through them, they get more money.
Although the game WILL be on steam, if you preorder it now, they get 100% of the money, and you will have early access.
That is 40 000$ in less then a week! Both teams get 20 000$, not bad for two teams consisting of <10 people!

You broke my automerge! :saddowns:
I want to buy this. The thing I loved most about Lugaru was the dynamic bleeding on the face if you do enough damage, like a bleeding nose or a bleeding mouth, cuts on the face and body.. I think I'd buy Overgrowth for the sole reason it might have that.
I hate to break it to you, but it wasn't dynamic. :P

It's an old Overgrowth vid, but it'll probably be in the game.
