Good news everyone! I have been accepted into the Overt Ops Team. Now I can help the devs promote Overgrowth even more!
A61 does not have rabbot :saddowns:
Yeah I know, huge bummer, I have no idea why they took him out. John said he'll be back though.
I think Ragball is for a scripting test.
I think Ragball is for a scripting test.
Yeah it is, but I have no idea how to script though. Some guy said he managed to get the ball to move left and right and that's about it. :v:
The new rabbot will probably be scriptable, any idea in what language? C++?
The new rabbot will probably be scriptable, any idea in what language? C++?
The engine uses a mix of C++ and JavaScript. That is what Jeff told me. Also, it seems like I'm the only one posting here all the time. :v:
They don't care we want rabbot. They just needed to test scripting. Just happened to make it alpha unusable for us. New alpha in a week or so anyway.
Bah, can only do Python.
game looks good... gotta buy it and donate it
I just brought it, been playing around in the editors. Can't wait till theres something to play.
I bought the pre-order pack which had Overgrowth and NS2, and the pack offer ended almost an hour ago. I don't suppose you guys know where the download links for the promised alphas are?

Fuck the rodents I want the engine.
For overgrowth check the secret preorder forum at wolfire forums and for NS2 check your email
I just can't find it. The only NS2 e-mail I have is the one with NS2 special-edition key and the ones from registering to their forums. I found overgrowth but I'm way more interested in NS2, I remember playing NS1 at a LAN for like most of the night. Onos rush = success
That's it I'm preordering
The great thing about this pre-order is that you know the devs don't use the money on coffee. Unlike some other indie developers.

The point is on getting the money for developers now through the preorder, so they have time and resources to develop. Otherwise, they would need an investor to pay the development, which would mean giving the control to somebody else. The investor could enforce sped up development, and overall fuck it up. I will gladly buy the game now, even though I might have to wait for a playable version for months or few years, as long as it's worth it.
So the "instant alpha access included" thing on the pack site was false advertisement?
No, it was not. You can access both development alphas, they just don't contain any "gameplay". At this moment, both alphas are in stage of working on graphical/physical engine and content. For example, I am not certain, but I think that in the latest Overgrowth alpha, they are working on scripting. Developers are giving us everything they have at this moment, we just have to wait to experience the real rabbit fighting and alien blasting.
http://blog.wolfire.com/2010/01/Terrain-Update Shows the "Off the grid" that they are using in Overgrowth. Also I don't know if I'm most excited about the game itself or the modding possibilities.
I'd say i am excited about both because i know it will be a great game and i know i will be downloading mods for it that will extend it's lifetime significantly.

Also who's going to make the obligatory Warhammer (fantasy of course) mod for this when it's released?
I'm not getting the hype, we haven't even seen any actual gameplay yet.
There are some videos on youtube. [editline]10:08PM[/editline] Oh god, furries are going to be all over this shit!

I wish they would stop showing off the level editor and give us gameplay already. The game can be as pretty and mod-able as it wants but I wanna buy something that's a fun game.

But it's alpha, that's like beta beta beta. :P

Pre-orderers will be all over it.
Those who didn't preorder it will whine because they don't get to play the beta
There is no gameplay yet. When we get gameplay you will know about it. This is like a play advertising and selling tickets when all they did was six months of work on backdrops. Being indy only gets you so far, you need to show you're game designers as well.

Not to mention they provide constant updates and progress reports so we know that they're still working away. Preordering isn't mandatory and you're completely free to wait and see how the the games pan out, but for those of us who do preorder it's more of a sign of support and trust. If you don't trust in them to deliver a great game then don't preorder, no one is going to look down on you for not doing so and you're not going to lose out on anything either.
