They made Lugaru and Natural Selection which were and still are excellent, for me that is enough reason to preorder. Not to mention they provide constant updates and progress reports so we know that they're still working away.
Preordering isn't mandatory and you're completely free to wait and see how the the games pan out, but for those of us who do preorder it's more of a sign of support and trust. If you don't trust in them to deliver a great game then don't preorder, no one is going to look down on you for not doing so and you're not going to lose out on anything either.
When did they make natural selection? The people of Unknown Worlds made that and they actually showed us a game when updating natural selection 2 stuff, major props to them. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
What they've shown us I just find silly. It's that time in game development that we don't see from any company because it's not a game yet. However, they get get excited as hell and tell us all about their project as soon as they have a few lines of code done and even offer out pre-orders.

Sorry I thought you were referring to both companies not one of them as we were talking about the preorders which recently included both games, a mistake on my part. That excitement is something which makes me more optimistic for the game, the way that they seem to be working on it with a true passion and share with the community everything they do is something you don't see with many other teams.
It's nice to see a project being developed and having nothing hidden from you, you can completely see what it is you're spending money on.

Exactly. I see it just like as if you were a stock holder. Each week, they show you what they've done to your investment, in this case, the game. And if he considers NS proof enough then he should take a look at Lugaru which is also brilliant.
Only the fighting prototype is immensly fun. I love it, so imagine how the full combat will be.
I won't support it until I see that they're capable of more than tech demos, but to each their own. I hope it turns out well.

Yes, indeed and thanks for not flaming and ranting, good thing to see.
I was actually not that interested in the game myself, at first, but I figured that it was so cheap and the games were still looking very appealing. I felt like I might aswell get it and support the guys aswell since I figured that they deserved it.
A new update has been posted on the Wolfire blog where they have said that John will dye his beard pink tomorrow! Can't wait to see some pictures!
Concept art looks good and the idea looks good.
If i had the cash i might've bought it.
Then again, my idiotic brother would never leave me alone again

I was hoping for a proper pink hair dye not a fuckin ghetto spray paint job that can be washed away quickly.....
Bah, I was hoping for real dye, the kind that one splash of water doesn't get rid of.

Yeah, what he said. Fuckin fugly ass ginger wussy wimp... That's why he's still an indie developer!
The amount of stuck up spoiltness in this thread is appalling.

Well, according to this picture, his beard is still pink:

The one in the middle is also a dev, their artist.

Also, it seems like he got some spraypaint on his Wolfire shirt. :v:
Looks like he's got some panties glued to his face.

Preordered yesterday, I love Lugaru!
I'm not sure if I should preorder this, AVP or natural selection, Any help?
I'm not sure if I should preorder this, AVP or natural selection, Any help?
While Overgrowth and NS2 will be great games I would recommend getting AVP 3 because you will actually be able to play it this year and enjoy it.
There will always be more time for the other games.

I can't wait till it releases :v: Lugaru was win.

Shame it doesn't work for me to click on Rabbot anymore. It crashes the game. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.

And thanks for sparking some life into this thread again.

Did they put combat back in? The only reason I used the earlier alphas was to futz about with the simple combat. :v:
I really didn't like Lugaru because it felt so stale, but this looks really badass.
Preordered this a week ago
I found a great fanmade tutorial on how to make custom animations and then replace them with the current ones. Have a look!

Latest alpha is un-playable for me. :(
Great gamma update tho.

This game looks awesome, but if it was coming out of Japan I might have more respect for it
And I'll wait for a beta rather than an alpha

... Because everything coming out of japan has to be better?
